Chap 27) Battle between Kiana and Mercury.

....2 Weeks after the battle...…..

"Bang crash swish!"

"Fighting, Kiana donned her valkrie amour with the exception of her wings. Fighting against Pyrrha, she for the first time ever since arriving in Beacon had started to finally use a weapon.

"I must say Kiana that weapon feels like a cheat." (Pyrrha)

Hearing this, Kiana just smiled in response before charging at her. Today, Kiana and Pyrrha were chosen to fight one another in Miss Goodwitch's class. Feeling that it was time, Kiana decided that it was time to reveal her weapon and start polishing it.

With great ferocity and precision, Kiana wielded the katana with extreme skill. Striking points that were hard to protect without any damage taken, Pyrrha was forced back by Kiana.

Although Pyrrha managed to parry and dodge every strike, her aura was slowly being depleted. At first she did not know why but as time passed, she started to realise that the blade itself could somehow deplete aura.

Looking at her aura capacity, Pyrrha realised that she had already reached 67% while Kiana still had 100% of her aura intact. Feeling intimidated at this challenge, Pyrrha decided that enough was enough. Using her semblance, Pyrrha attempted to disarm Kiana's katana but this was a bad idea.

Feeling as if something was wanting to separate itself with its master, the edge of fall started to release its aura in full power.

Everyone in the room feeling the immense pressure, were forced to use their aura to combat this pressure. Looking at Kiana many started to realise that the pressure came from, glowing a dark red, Kianas blade released a visible killing intent that everyone could feel. Sweating bullets, everyone here were thinking what in the world was that blade.

But for Pyrrha, she was in an even worse scenario. Due to her being the one whom attempted to disarm Kiana, the blade identified her as an enemy and focused most of the pressure and bloodlust on her. On her knees, she fully utilised her aura to protect herself, Pyrrhas aura was being depleted at a visible rate.

"Fall edge thats enough." (Kiana)

Saying this, the katana retrieved all its aura and the pressure instantly disappeared and as if a little kitten, a cute whimper could be heard from the blade.

Smiling to herself, Kiana petted the hilt of her weapon before storing it back into her soul realm.

Feeling that the intimidating aura was finally gone, Pyrrha slumpt onto the ground tired while everyone else started to subconciously back off.

"Miss Rose might i ask what was that?" (Glynda)

Looking at the crowd then back at proffesor Goodwitch, Kiana knew what had happened, rubbing the back of her head, she said.

"That was my soul weapon Edge of Fall, well it sorta has a... temper. so to say." (Kiana)

"I see but that does not explain the pressure it radiated off." (Glynda)

"As i mentioned before it has a temper. The Edge of Fall is a blade with sentience and gets very grouchy when removed from me as it has been with me for most of its life. So you can imagine what would happen when someone attempts to disarm me, it radiates the pressure to protect me and itself." (Kiana)

"Thats a rather unique weapon you have there miss Rose. From what you say, this Edge of Fall is a living object i presume?" (Glynda)

"Sorry i cannot say anything about it, its a trade secret." (Kiana)

"I see.... alright we have time for one more match before class ends. Seeing that miss Rose here has full aura are there any volunteers to fight her?" (Glynda)

Hearing this, many students started to back off more as they knew the consequences of fighting her and to be honest, many people wish to avoid that. This silence went on for another minute until a hand was raised.

"I'll do it." (Mercury)

Looking at Mercury with a glint, Glynda sighed as she knew no one else was going to fight Kiana with her display of strength.

"Well Mr Mercury please come up to the stage." (Glynda)

"Thank you." (Mercury)

Upon saying so, he immediately lept from the crowd and landed onto the stage where Kiana stood.

Looking at one another, they waited for the counter.

"3,2,1 BATTLE START! LET'S GO AHEAD!"

"boom*"

Upon the timer hitting 0, Mercury knew that this was his only chance of forcing Kiana to use her power. With great accuracy and precision, he striked Kiana with his greatest strike. Hoping that Kiana would be forced to use her katana, he was sorely dissapointed as Kiana only used her amour and hands to parry Mercury's strike.

"Shit!" (Mercury)

Knowing that he lost his first exchange, he started to rain down myriad of kicks many of which were fake moves to disorientate Kiana.

Kiana seeing the fury of kicks, parried every single one of them and with extreme speed, grabbed his foot throught the fury of kicks and twirled around before tossing him towards the ground.

Bracing himself, Mercury slammed onto the floor where a crater appeared.

Releasing her grip, Kiana wanted to land a few more blows to the downed Mercury, however Mercury instead used his leg rounds to boost him out of the way and recover.

Looking at one another, both Mercury and Kiana looked at one another with battle intent rising up.

Getting ready, the pair charged at one another with Mercury delivering a kick while Kiana delivered a karate chop. With little effort, Kiana easily overpowered Mercury as he was blasted backwards again.

However this time, Mercury no longer charged as he looked with Kiana with dread. Looking at the screen, he realised that he managed to down Kiana's aura by half and his by 70%.

"I give up!" (Mercury)

Raising his hands, he had gained enough info and resigned himself.

"Alright thats all we have for today. I hope that this will be a good experience for you all." (Glynda)

Knowing how powerful Kiana was, professor Goodwitch did not pursue after Mercurys resignation.

Moving to their next class, Cinder smirked as she knew how to counter Kiana through this battle. But much to her dismay, this was a ploy by Kiana.

.......Kiana pov after class.......

'WELL THAT WAS WELL TIMED. BUT STILL YOU HAVE YET TOLD ME WHY YOU WANTED ME TO DRAIN YOUR AURA.' (Draig)

"Draig, its common knowledge that to lure your next meal, you must frst plant the bait. Let this battle be the bait and the fisher the monster." (Kiana)
