32 Four Primordial Treasures

Leon followed Cole through the corridors of the mansion and they came to stop at a two-sided door which was engraved with drawing then they entered in the library. Leon looked at the bookshelves but he commanded his soul artifact to copy the books. After his book of knowledge completed, it could act like a spiritual tool, so Leon didn't need to pass it through all the books here.

As his book of knowledge was passing through the books and copying their content, Leon took a book which explained the culture of this country. Leon know that this country was a human country and it was called Holy Human Empire and most of the humans were living in this empire.

It was true that it had an imperial family which was ruling over but the rules themselves was written by The Temple of Obligation. The government type was between monarchy and theocracy. The temple wouldn't bother with mundane affairs of the Empire but it didn't mean that they didn't have any interest. Leon didn't read it from any book but he heard it from Theo.

The head of temple was The Pope and when a new pope would come to the seat, they would throw their name and only called The Pope and when the new emperor were crowned The Pope would put their crown on their head. Theo only said that but for Leon, it showed that ruling rights of the emperor given by the pope. This was showing that above the emperor there was The Pope. If The Pope were decline the crowning the new emperor, it would show the populace that divine right and rule of the emperor was nonexistent.

It wasn't just limited with Holy Human Empire but all races on the system world have this kind of temples which was hidden but they were the one's which was doing the ruling.

Leon didn't have much interest in the politic outline of the system world but he knew enough to prevent him to make blunder in the public. He was more interested in social norms of the system world than the politics of the world.

While his book of knowledge was copying, He read the book. As he was reading, he came to understand that the system world. He already knew that the ruling class was composed from nobility, monarchs and the temples, he learned them from Theo. The book that he was reading, was describing the social norms about Holy Human Empire's commoners and the holy rules and doctrines. The Holy Human Empire was a patriarchy and the polygamy was a norm in the society.

Leon didn't hear anything about that from Theo, but it was understandable. Leon didn't say anything about monogamy when he was talking about his world. When you describe a sea you wouldn't say just blue and leave like that, it was normal for sea to be blue. If it wasn't blue then you would say the color of it.

Leon didn't like the idea of polygamy. The cause wasn't that his morals from his previous life, but he didn't believe in love, so being in love with a lot of women was an impossibility for him. Even marriage for making connections was too bothersome for him.

When he copied whole library, Leon stood up from where he sat and walked to the door where Cole was waiting. Cole didn't say anything when they were in the library, so Leon thought he leaved the library ahead of him.

"Cole, do you know how the selection for the next head will be done?"

Leon asked while they were leaving the library. After coming here, Leon didn't know how the selection would be done. Both of Aroan world and the system world, the inhabitants could be stronger so "might is right" and "survival of the fittest" was the base philosophy of the people. Thus there might be a strength test, but for nobles, they should have some administration skills. Leon could discern Casper power and Theo's; Casper didn't have any problems but Theo took the pill from Leon so, they didn't have much difference in power that they have.

"Actually, it isn't that complicated. The first challenge is to get near to the Blazewing Fire as near as possible, and the one who neared the most would have an advantage over the other one."

"Blazewing Fire? Is it a spiritual fire?"

"Yes, it is an heirloom spiritual fire of the Blazewing family for ages."

Leon knew about the spiritual fires. There all kinds of laws in existence, and there would some artifacts, fruits or materials which have laws in it. The air that Leon absorbed was filled with Law of Air and it didn't have any law aside that so it was pure. If it had Law of Poison in it, it would have poisonous properties. The four of order also same, Aside from their respective laws, they also had Law of Order imbued in them, it was the reason for them to use chaos as nutrient and bring order to four elements in a limited area.

"What is the second challenge?"

"It is more straightforward, direct confrontation in the area."

"The third?"

"Solving a problem in the fief. Generally it would be to hunting down some bandits. It also test your ability to make connections."

Leon nodded. He couldn't help for first two challenge but he could help for the last challenge. As for connections that Cole said, he understood that with connections they had, they would invite others to help them in this mission.

As they talked, they neared the room that arranged for Leon. After entering room, Leon laid down on the bed and review what he copied from the library. Aside from the social norms in the system world, he learned about four primordial treasures. If his guesses were correct, he would get all of them after clearing the dungeons.

The first one, of course the Philosopher's Stone that he got from the ruins of Elgard.

The second one; Abysmal Goblet which had ability to store all kinds of liquid and produce them if the owner wished.

The third one Mountain of Vulcan which had the same ability for the metals.

The fourth one had the most allure for Leon; Scythe of the Reaper, it wasn't that Leon was planning to use it as a weapon. He wanted it because it was majored in death and minored in destruction. With the Scythe of the Reaper, he could use the seed of the world tree to complete his Life & Death stage. As for its functions, Leon didn't care also the books in library didn't contained its functions but Leon was sure that it had some magical functions like other primordial treasures.

Leon didn't have enough mana to properly use these treasures so he couldn't create endless water from primordial well. Maybe in the future when he got stronger.

On the bed, Leon closed his eyes. He didn't know when the trials for the next marquis begun but he was sure that, Theo would handle the first trial. Because he was reborn with the blood of a phoenix and the phoenixes were proficient on fire but he didn't any hope for the second trial, Theo was sick until recently so he didn't have any experience for fighting. As for the third, Leon could handle it.
