The Soul of Lucifer

"To all participants:

Now we will conduct the Soul measurements in the Soul Hall...", a machine like voice echoed in the hall.

In the middle of the hall was a crystal. Sun Reed has read a lot about them in his free time.

"Finally, I'm 15 now. I can get my Soul origin measured.", Sun said to himself while walking to the golden monument-like teleporter.

While he was walking he tried to think of what kind of magic powers he would receive. All he can hope is, that God will give him some strong elemental magic powers. Those were the strongest in the world and one would surely get the attention of many girls with show-off powers.

Almost without hesitation, the young man touched the crystal and white light was emitted from the center of it.

The light was too bright and he couldn't even see his own hands.

Suddenly, a female voice sounded from the crystal:

"Access to Soul Hall acquired. Analyzing soul movement...

Abilities: Has yet to be discovered"

"Has yet to be discovered ... great...", he thought.

"God, how can you do this to me? What did I do in my past life to receive such treatment?", Sun was crying inside.

After a few minutes of sobbing, he noticed the name of the origin of his soul.

"Lucifer? Wait, wasn't that the fallen angel from the movies? I thought origins were from beasts or high-class creatures from famous mystical beings like the Phoenix.", Sun stared at his status.

"Maybe I still have some hope. I mean Lucifer is kind of OP, at least in the games I played."

After the event, he went home.

Sun is living in an apartment in the Metropolitan Aseid in Esperia. His family was one of the few lucky ones to receive an opportunity like this and live in the mystical nation of Esperia.

In this era, only the rich people could afford to live here or at least send their children to this place. There is only one Soul Hall in the world, mankind is researching this artifact in order to recreate it.

Ten years ago, a returning airforce team was flying over the Pacific. During their flight, they saw a big landmass ahead. The pilots thought they were in America but after closing their distance from the country, they could see a castle and many creatures flying in the sky.

It was at this moment, humans came in contact with Ethers and magic. Unfortunately, advanced technology can't be used on their territory, because it would clash with magic and cause devastating damage. An atom bomb would look like a water splash next to it.

The Ethers look like humans, but they emit a special aura making them look angelic. In aspects of beauty, humans could never dream of holding a candle to them. Due to their long stay on earth, evolution allowed them to live longer than humans. Their average lifespan is around 200 years. Some even reached 400 years before.

Since the discovery of the Ethers, humans were sent to that country to befriend with them. The American government invited 100 families to befriend with them. Some of them feared the Ethers and even called them "Aliens". You can't blame them. It lies in the nature of humans to fear the unknown. But most of the people, a number of what you would call an average family, agreed after hearing about creatures, magic, and their cities.

Being a mage, wield elemental powers and kill creatures was sure everyone's childhood dream.

Sun's father died a few years after he was born, so he nearly doesn't remember him. He lives with his mother and were happy, but poor.

The rewards after agreeing to the terms are 10 million US Dollars and a house in the city of Aseid.

Sun Reed was on his way to home, he mindlessly walked into a small alley.

The alley was dark, the air moist and sticky. It gave off a smell of strong body odor. He recalled, that those alleys were territories of gangs the city. He shouldn't have casually walked into one of their places.

After the second thought, he quickly turned back and was ready to leave, but suddenly he was grabbed into the darkness.

He tried to fight, but it was futile. His opponent was too fast for him. Soon he was knocked down. He quickly stood up again and tried to punch him, but his opponent dodged him at an unbelievable speed and jumped atop of him and punched Sun in the face.

"You dare to actually come here? Die! Humans are worthless sh*t! Why do we have to tolerate your behavior? What did our lady Minvera see in the likes of you?

This guy does not know the word "mercy". He was ruthless and his punches were stronger than before.

At this moment, he wished he'd known, how to use his newly gained ability. The Soul origin was Lucifer, so it had to be something special. At this point, he was very confused. He didn't know why he has been attacked or how to use his power. He felt helpless.

Suddenly, he was stroke with anger.

A strange symbol appeared in the middle of his forehead. It looks like two dark wings and between them was a red eye. The tattoo gave off a dark aura and he felt his power rising and rising while it surrounded him. His eyes have turned red like blood and he looked like a demon.

A strange voice sounded in Sun's head: "After a thousand years, finally a body worthy of my stay appeared. You, chosen one, are you prepared to take on my power?"
