Legion20
What happened to lith? Head mimicks trista and he doesn't burn down a town? Fighting unknown and he's not full of confidence? Not having fifteen (probably unnecessary) contingency plans? Is this even still lith? Character development is falling apart! Also, you cannot say two greens equal a blue. It has been repeatedly established to be exponential growth. If we extrapolate what you say, the. With just two cyan cores, it could make a white core. My belief has been getting suspended higher and higher, but this chapter it finally fell and chopped off the my enjoyment of this story like a guillotine unto my neck.
This whole scene with that shape-shifting thing didn't really make sense for me. The way Lith responded to everything was so in tangent to his core as depicted many times over. TBH it felt like it was a new character altogether. I mean, sure, Lith is not perfect and can make mistakes just like what happened this chapter. But I think the execution of it could've been better. This is the first time I felt so much contradiction and difference to the Lith that I have learned to understand since the start and the Lith being shown this chapter.
We all love the novel but exactly because we love it we gotta tell the author when his protagonist is getting completely out of character...the guy who is afraid of sleeping in the wild just watches something straight from a horror movie happening whitout doing anything......people even between lovers if you just condone or accept the ****ty things your S.O does that is the right recipe for a break up sooner or later This chapter was Hella BAD.....Maybe he wants to "humanize" the MC through this arc ( seeking relationships, caring for his family ...) but instantly loosing the paranoia that defines him just because he is not "prepared" ??? The very purpose of paranoia is to be prepared against the unprevisible Legion gotta be honest you messed up big time !!
Sorry but wtf was this? Calling what just happened trite and contrived is being way too kind. You need to rewrite the first half of this chapter. There's no way Lith wouldn't have acted sooner and especially not when the door was opened. I mean you even had him "prepare" to cast fake magic...the Jirni bit of the chapter was fine though.
