Looking through Kian's eyes

On the other hand, Jia Xinyue's "wings" were going very well. They had grown massive as she wandered the wall of despair, adding anything that could be entertainment.

Luckily for her, she had found a screen that had many dramas on it. The best thing about this screen was that there were no ads! No pop up ads that appeared every 15 minutes, no need to pay, just continuous watching.

[Talk about heaven]

The bad thing was that the quality sucked!

Ah well, can't get everything you ask for in life after all!

"Big Sis! I bought you something!" Kian said whilst bouncing up and down, grinning.

Jia Xinyue looked over.

A halo of light descended upon Kian. Jia Xinyue swore she saw a choir of angels standing behind him, and his smile was radiant with childish glee.

She didn't know why he acted like a kid around her when he obviously wasn't, but she decided to not make things difficult. Besides, he was cute and they were working together.

Anyways, the important thing was that he bought food for her! Freshly bought hot food!

"As your great goddess of this system, I am very pleased with this offering," she said whilst salivating.

Kian placed down each of the dishes on the table he brought over earlier.

He sat down, and began eating with a spoon.

Jia Xinyue gaped at him.

"You've been in that world for this long yet you still don't know how to use chopsticks?" she asked, astonishment written all over her face.

"Dear whichever God that rules this system, please let me switch hosts."

She flopped over on her back and stared at the endless white space.

Kian snorted and threw a pair of chopsticks over at her.

"I'm just joking," he said with a light laugh, "But if you don't come here in 5 seconds I'll eat all your favourite dishes."

"Don't yOU DARE MISTER," Jia Xinyue yelled.

She rushed over to the table and began to dig into the delicious food.

The two ate in silence for a while, before Kian started telling Jia Xinyue about the events that happened while she was inside the space.

"Interesting…" Jia Xinyue nodded in glee, "It's just like a novel. Amazing."

She finished off the rest of her rice.

"There's definitely something up with the original Lan Wei and his family,"

Kian nodded.

Suddenly, he had a curious thought.

"Hey, since I bought you all this stuff, how do you always manage to find your way back?" he asked.

Jia Xinyue looked up from her food and pursed her lips, thinking.

"The wall of despair moves. It's so much easier than me going around and losing everything." She tilted her head. "It only started recently though, which is really weird."

Kian looked at the wall of screens. To be fair, it was moving. Therefore, what she said did make sense.

"I bought some manuals on cultivating like you told me to... B-but I don't think you can cultivate within this space, but you can read them Big Sis," he said offhandedly.

"That reminds me! Kian, it's possible for me to get a body! Your system goddess commands you to complete as many quests as possible!" she said excitedly, knocking over a screen in the process.

Kian was still staring at the wall of screens, not listening to her. Suddenly, he rushed over to a certain screen, and yelled over at Jia Xinyue.

"This one is useful!"

Jia Xinyue tilted her head in confusion before jogging over to where Kian was.

It was a still image of a room, with windows that overlooked a city full of ancient Chinese style buildings.

"How's this useful? I don't see-"she said.

Kian quickly interjected, "This is what I see. This means that this screen connects to Lan Wei's world!"

Eyes lighting up, Jia Xinyue quickly added the screen to her list before bringing it up in front of her.

She rubbed her chin and went into deep thought.

"Go back and I'll see if there's audio too. If there's any chance we can communicate, I can help you with tactics and strategy. I didn't read all those novels for nothing," she said.

Kian nodded and went back.

Jia Xinyue settled herself in a nest of cushions, with the screen sitting at a comfortable distance away from her. She rubbed her eyes and briefly wondered whether she'd need glasses after staring at so many screens for so long.

Suddenly, the screen shifted and she could hear an unfamiliar voice calling out her name.

"Big Sis? Can you hear me?" Lan Wei said to the wall.

He moved over to the window, and Jia Xinyue could finally appreciate the beautiful architecture of

Wuhan, and the pagoda which stood over 10 stories tall.

With another zap, Kian was back in the space. To his surprise, he found Jia Xinyue huddled in a bunch of blankets with a dark cloud over her head.

"I am so damn jealous of you right now; it's not even funny anymore," she grumbled.

"What are you even doing?" he asked, chuckling lightly.

"Growing mushrooms. Go away," she replied, the dark cloud over her head growing larger and larger.

"I don't think this space can grow things…"

"That's not the point. Wait. Grow things?"

"Huh?"

Jia Xinyue looked up in excitement. "That's it!" she shouted.

"If you bring the materials in, I can grow medical herbs and make elixirs!"

Kian tilted his head in confusion.

"Don't you need to be able to cultivate?" he asked.

"For pills, yes you do. But not for low to middle elixirs. Not in this world, at least." She replied cheerfully.

Finally, there was something she could do other than mope around and be lazy all day!

"I read about it the other day. You still have to have a talent for learning how to make elixirs, so it's not like anyone can make them," she explained carefully, a glow of excitement on her face.

Kian smiled at her expressions and laughed happily. At least it would be good to let her try. Kian didn't think that she had the talent, but whatever she says, he'll try to do.

"As you wish, Big Sis."

As it was getting closer to the end of the trial, he decided to leave for the pagoda.
