A Journey Paved.

It took no time at all even at Altina's casual flight speed to come back at the Baron's castle. Actually the whole time it took was less than half a minute.

Now, Altina in her big red dragon form was now just flying around in a circle right beneath the clouds but still above the Baron's castle.

Even though Linley thought deep about his current dad. In the end, his dad is his dad while Linley is just Linley. Linley Arthur was too busy training to know what time is, while in his past life Lin Feng was a degenerate otaku. Current Linley actually didn't care that much, he just tries to think about it because a dragon told him too.

If a dragon were to tell you to read a book, you go read that book. Linley just like dragons that much. So he's a bit biased to listening to dragons unless there's a price to pay.

"Hey Altina, can't you just land and drop me off at the ground?" Linley felt the need to ask, since Altina was already flying in a circle around the the Baron's castle for about 10 minutes already.

Red dragon Altina snorted at that suggestion.

"Do I jump down from your back?" Linley didn't how high it was, but he thought Altina might wanted him to do some manly action.

Truth be told. If Linley were to jump, he would have jump from a height of over 100 meters. Whether or not Linley breaks his legs would depends on his performance on landing.

Altina turned her neck around and stared at Linley with fierce eyes as she growled at him.

Linley took that answer as a no. Linley again did not know what to do. So he just left Altina to continue flying as she wished.

'Maybe she is a lot more attached to me then I imagined.' Linley thought.

After 20 minutes of flying in a circle, the red dragon Altina without warning then roared loudly like she did before when first coming here.

Once must know that because of Altina's 30 minutes of flying in a circle attracted a crowd of people to the Baron's castle.

Now with Altina's roar as a warning to ants. She then made a hasty landing to the ground. The crowd of people tried to disperse before she could land. But she was like a asteroid crashing down.

Bang!

She made a crater as she landed into the ground, but all those people who were on the ground before couldn't easily leave in time. So some were sent flying while others ended up crashing into others because of the shock wave that followed Altina's landing.

Red dragon Altina with her tail coiled around Linley and planted him into the ground. He was only planted deep enough that even his waist was buried. Linley was going to say he was planted like a vegetable, but Altina moved too fast before he could even retort.

But in no time at all, red dragon Altina roared once more as she then flew away like a shooting star in the distant sky.

"..." Linley felt speechless about how he was treated by his self-declared fiance.

In the next moment, Bang!

It was if a meteor has landed near Linley. But it wasn't a meteor. It was just the Suanni Lion, who Altina had casually killed before. But it was roasted now and on fire because of high velocity it had experienced which casually broke the sound barrier.

The crowd that earlier forcibly dispersed was now forming back together. Now that Linley has took a good look at them. It was a group of people that was now staring back him noticing he was buried.

Linley knowing he might get continue stared at like this, he placed his free arms onto the ground. Both palms on the ground, and then with all his might. He then tries to lift himself out of the ground that he was just planted in.

"HGGRRHH!" Linley did a loud shout as he tensed his muscle up. His veins were bulging and his eyes were becoming bloodshot.

But it came to nothing in the end, because Linley failed getting out of the ground. For some reason, the crowd was still staring at him as if they were expecting a second wind from Linley.

Meanwhile, back to Altina's point of view. She who had just left and finally reached the edge of the continent.

Red dragon Altina took a glance back in the direction of the Baron's castle. She had a disgusted look as she remembered about the request that Linley's father ask of her ten years ago to do on Linley's 13th birthday.

Altina would have just preferred to go in human form and hug Linley. But this request was something that was entirely beneficial for Linley. So she had no real reason to refuse.

In fact, Altina never really used her dragon form at all. Not even for purpose of traveling or flying. For her specific breed of red dragons, there were virtually zero difference in term of power between their human form and dragon form.

Because of this, Altina prefer to fly in her human form. Of course without wings, one cannot naturally fly. Therefore for Altina to fly, she would just flap her human arms like a bird and soar through the sky. It was just a matter of strength to defy gravity in the end.

Thus, at the edge of the continent. Altina changed from her dragon form to her human form. Then with some flaps of her human arms, she begin her journey back to her home continent. The distance between the two continent was at least over 10,000 kilometers just based on the travel over the vast ocean.

As she flew in her human form. Her dress that was of purely feathers of mostly red, and then with bit of green and yellow feathers. Her dress was a bit magical in nature. Thus, when she flies in human form, she leave a rainbow trail following behind her.

If Linley were to have seen this scene, he would coughed blood, due to this scene would have reminded him of the nyan cat.

Of course a young boy at ten years old did see this scene of Altina flying. This was only because Altina was at the same edge of the continent as the Kanto Kingdom was at too.

The young boy had black hair and brown eyes. He was holding a fat yellow rat magical beast which had a lightning bolt shaped tail.

His name was Ash and he just recently left his hometown to become a strong magical beast tamer in the future like no one ever was. His partner's name was Bebe, a lightning type-mouse magical beast with an attitude.

They together just narrowly escaped their end by a pack that was filled with hundreds of wind wolves.

"Look, Bebe, is that a phoenix?" Ash said as he saw the distantly far Altina flying, while he was holding on to Bebe in his arms.

Bebe with his half-open eyes looked at the majestic bird and admired it as well.

"If I remember right in the magical beast encyclopedia, seeing a phoenix was a sign of good fortune." Ash spoke in admiration even though he was very much tired.

Meanwhile, back to Linley's point of view. Linley finally pulled himself out of the ground after much needed effort. The crowd from before had already long dispersed and no longer exist.

Linley was covered in dirt. So he head back home since he had nothing better to do for the rest of the night. Linley could sneak out and fight some wild magical beasts. But that is stupid to do without preparation. There's a difference between hunting in a game and in real life. Linley was not a expert in real life so it was necessary for him to get an expert to help.

Linley had planned to explore the territory and hunt down magical beasts as soon as possible. Being in bed for a long time and doing mainly exercises left him anxious to at least grind for the System Shop at least.

Linley noticed in front of the Baron's castle there was a carriage and two horses connected to it. Linley wondered if there was a guest or a visitor.

Linley who entered the entrance hall, noticed Melarue. But Melarue wasn't wearing her maid uniform as usual, instead she wearing a green hood over tight fitting clothing that was underneath. And importantly, she was carrying luggage with her.

"Melarue what's with the luggage?" Linley asked his elf maid.

"Young master, I thought you would at least remember this." Melarue said while surprised. "Do you not remember you're now 13 years old."

"What does that have to do with anything?" Linley asked.

"Being 13 years old is the prime time age for when one goes to a school or an academy to further achieve progress on their might." Melarue explained. "The Baron already paid for your tuition fee and set up your registration years ago. So now we're need to head to your board of schooling within two weeks' worth of time just to be safe."

"That's... hmm." Linley felt surprised about the bombshell here but in the end, understood why. "I assume that's the purpose of the carriage outside, but why are we leaving at nightfall, isn't it better to begin traveling when the sun rises?"

"Indeed young master, that is the purpose. For the second question, a general answer would be to save on time in general, but more importantly if you want to explore along the way then we can make time for it. But if you decided not to, then we can delay our trip to begin in the morning." Melarue spoke of the available options.

"Then can I take a shower first?" Linley asked.

After the time to take a shower, Linley got ready and was outside.

Linley noticed that his elf maid was the one holding the reins of the horses connected to the carriage.

"Is there not a driver besides you?" Linley asked.

"No, this journey would be just the two of us, young master." The elf smiled.

"I see." Linley got up on the carriage and sat in the front next to Melarue instead of just entering the carriage itself.

"Are you ready, young master?" Melarue asked while shoulder by shoulder to Linley.

"As much as I will be." Linley said his honest feelings.

As soon as the carriage started moving, Linley suddenly was reminded as the wheels begin turning.

"Oh! I haven't seen my dad yet." Linley said nervously to Melarue because of his forgetfulness.

"Written by the sir himself." Melarue immediately pulled out a letter from her person.

Linley who grabbed the letter and read it's content that was meant for his eyes.

'Son, do not come back home until you become a man.' Linley rolled his eyes at that sentence.

"Melarue, let's enjoy our journey at the very least." Linley smiled and looked forward to the future.

Now it was the Baron Draco Arthur's point of view, the Baron was merely watching from his office. Staring at the moving carriage that. He had earlier before poured himself a cup of wine, and now he was drinking it.

The Baron had a sigh of regret.

"Linley, I hope you can have a fun and fulfilling life. Because I believe I wouldn't get the chance to see it in the soon future." The Baron spoke to himself.

The Baron knew his past enemies were soon catching up to him. There were many he had offended in the past. Just the recent amount of assassins and spies were proof that this threat was looming over him.

For example, over the period of time since Linley was injured. On day 3, Melarue has dealt with a strong combat assassin on par with her on the rooftops and nearly ended up gravely wounded. On day 7, Melarue has dealt with an Earth Magician within the premise next to his son Linley's room.

On day 15, even the Baron himself has dealt with two assailants. Both of whom were Master Warriors. Naturally they were in relations to enemy factions and noble families. Of course to the Baron himself, they were all just minor figures in the large scheme of things.

Personally, the Baron has been trying to disguised Linley's true nature in the face of the public. Throughout the years, he has kidnapping girls, just to throw them at Linley for his amusement. But in truth, he was hiding the fact that Linley was a maniac who constantly trains. Draco believed that his son was a genius now, but one day in the future he would be a powerhouse in the future.

The Baron who knew of Altina's relationship of Linley. Even then ten years ago, Draco himself has requested her to come at Linley's 13th birthday and tries to provide an outstanding performance to show that Linley had a relationship or possibly had contracted with a dragon.

That's why the Baron himself had disseminated rumors to the enemy spies through his own network that Linley had a relationship with a dragon. And that dragon would appear on his 13th birthday.

The power of an adult red dragon greatly surpass even Rank 15 Warriors, peak Grandmaster warriors. They were at the level of Supreme at least. A Supreme could be considered as an powerhouse on this continent.

Now it was soon time for the plans of the Baron to soon come into motion. In hope of his plans, Draco had hoped his son Linley were to have at least an easy life.

"As long as Melarue doesn't fail, and as long as Alice doesn't fail. Then Linley should be able to live through the upcoming chaotic times I hope." The Baron poured himself another cup and drank it in one go.

The Baron then looked at the full moon and spoke softly.

"I really miss you Hermione, I really do." Draco said with sadness in his eyes.

Do you ship Draco x Hermione?

I sure don't.
