Girls Night Out

Zunnie enjoyed taking the stairs when she wasn't too lazy. But after jogging for twenty minutes her legs were sore. Hence she decided to take the elevator. She got off on the third floor and walked to her door. She entered her code, pause for a second, then turned her head to glance at the door down the hallway.

When she moved to Lake-view Condos a few years ago, an uncle in his sixties lived next to her. He happened to be a retired police officer with two children who visited him every week. However, after one year, he moved out. Though he was much older, he was rather cheerful and she loved chatting with him.

"I wonder who moved in." She mumbled then stepped into her condo.

She hurriedly took a shower did a bit of cleaning and by the time she was done, it was eleven thirty in the morning. 'Damn where did the time run to?'

She put off cleaning the fish tank for next weekend climbed the stairs and headed for her bedroom to nap.

Four hours later, she was awakened by a call from her troublesome dad. Seeing it was him, she groaned and answered the phone groggily.

"Hello, dad."

"Hey pumpkin, are you still in bed? It's almost four." He chided her.

"I was up early this morning but went back to bed. Plus, it's Saturday. Isn't it the unofficial all you can sleep day?" She smiled imagining her dad frowning to her remark.

Ignoring her, he asked, "Can you come over for dinner tonight, your brother is bringing his girlfriend home?"

"I can't." Abruptly declining without an explanation.

"And why is that?"

"Already made plans with San, haven't seen her in almost three weeks."

"Oh, I see. Well, next time you're free please stop by. We hardly see you anymore pumpkin."

Zunnie always went home on Wednesdays and Sundays for dinner but for the past two weeks, she had been extremely busy and was not able to attend their family dinners. Also, she was still mad at her dad for his new hobby of interfering with her love life.

"I wonder whose fault is that?" Zunnie mumbled but Mr. Bai's sharp ears still heard.

"Is your brother bullying you again? Tell daddy so daddy can scold him." Wan Bai replied innocently.

Amused at him playing innocent, Zunnie rolled her eyes and said she would be home tomorrow for dinner as promised on Sunday. She hung up the phone and walked downstairs to the kitchen. Looking at the time again Zunnie's eyes grew wide. 'Was I that tired?' She turned on the TV. It happened to be on the food channel, so she decided to watch what was playing for two hours before heading to the shower.

After her shower, Zunnie blow dried her hair and styled it in loose curls that fell on her back. She stood in her walk-in closet and scanned her row of black dresses. Her eyes landed on a short black dress she had purchased in France during her last trip with her dad and brother. It wasn't an expensive dress, but she was okay with that. The dress hugged her body giving her a domineering aura. It was a black lace trim high neck, sheer top with her back showing. She paired it with some silver accessories and a pair of black Louboutin red bottom heels. She decided not to wear makeup because the nap earlier had her looking five years younger.

Before heading out, she admired herself in the mirror one last time then grabbed her clutch and walked out to her car. Being the designated driver tonight, Zunnie left forty minutes early to get Sanua. She steered her 2016 Volvo XC90 towards Sanua house humming to the upbeat tune that was playing on the radio.

"I am so ready for this girl's night out!" She grinned naughtily.

As a result of the heavy traffic, the drive which usually took twenty minutes, took her forty minutes. When she arrived, Zunnie exited the vehicle and went up to Sanua's room. Sanua Luo was standing in her closet when Zunnie walked in. She walked out with a dress in hand about to lay it on the bed when she gasped.

"What the heck Zunnie! You scared the shit out of me. Did you just come in?" Sanua turned to give her bestie a bear hug.

"Ha-ha, nice to see you're not as cold as the media says." Zunnie teased hugging her back.

"Those idiots. Constantly calling me Ice Cold Luo. I'm starting to really feel like I am. Anyways, ready to have fun tonight?" San grinned and winked her Zunnie.

"Heck yeah! I've been working hard the past few days. I need a break."

Sanua put on a short, wine red, high neck cut out, long-sleeved lace dress and wore a pair of nude heels. She had already put on make-up so Zunnie didn't have to wait for long.

After spending ten minutes getting ready, they both headed downstairs to Zunnie's ride.
