Drizella kept repeating her action of exploring the mansion until she finally found what she was looking for... the library. From then on it was Drizella's goal to reach the library before anyone find her and bring her back to the crib. The crib who use to be her buddy is now her biggest enemy. Right now it's more like a jail than a place for protection.
She sneaks and looks around the hallway nervously making sure that no one would see her before she makes her fastest run to another corner in the hallway. Each time the maid named Lia would always spot her and bring her back to the crib and each time she gets the feeling that the crib is laughing at her.
Am I acting too much of a child?
Lia Coleman is a brown-haired teenage girl who started taking care of my a week ago. She has ordinary looks but the freckles around her nose give her a more unique look. Her median long brown hair is always tied in a two braid reaching her shoulder.
I heard that Lia was picked up by my mother on the street. She wanted to thank my mother for going to all the trouble of helping someone filthy like her so she asks to be a maid here. My mother objected the idea since helping her was only on a whim but she kept insisting. In the end, she really ended up as a maid under the condition that she take care of me and she'll get paid for her work.
LOOK! My mother isn't like that wicked Lady Tremaine at ALL!
Today for sure I will definitely get pass Lia and into the library where many wonders are waiting for me. My fighting spirit is light up now and nothing can stop me from getting into the library! I'm not acting too much as a child, right?
I... I finally reach my goal today!
Feeling so happy Drizella throws an arm up for her little accomplishment forgetting that she has little strength... and went tumbling down on her belly. She didn't notice the muffled laughter outside the room. The feeling of embarrassment was mixed with the feeling of pain making her want to cry. Drizella started bawling out loud while still laying in the same position.
"Young miss..." Lia sigh as she saw my pitiful sight.
Drizella was sure that Lia was ready to pick her up but she didn't instead hands bigger than Lia's grabbed hold of her shoulders and lifted her up to the air. This only makes Drizella cry harder. You know babies don't like strangers who they haven't even seen the face of.
"Why is my baby girl crying."
The gentle voice of someone Drizella have missed so much drifted into her ears and that person was right behind her. Feeling so happy Drizella stop crying and try to turn her head around to see if it's truly him... everything was futile though. She can't even turn her head properly while in the air only making him laugh more.
"Dada menie." Drizella was about to cry again if he laughs at her once more.
He turned her around to face him smiling an apologetic smile, "Drizella forgive daddy right. Daddy won't do the same thing again but what is Drizella doing here in the library."
"Dise fogi dada. Dise ed bo. (Drizella forgive daddy. Drizella read books.)" I sound so outdated. How can I let this keep going! AAHHH! So embarrassing and even in front of father too! I bet Lia is laughing at me right about now.
Drizella took a peek at Lia and her mouth was in a struggle to laugh or not to laugh. Albert seeing her attention not directed at him turn his head towards Lia, "You can go now."
"Yes, Master." Saying so Lia bow her head turns around walking away.
"What does Drizella want to read?"
"Wold!"
I really need to learn to speak properly.
"The world? My daughter is interested in something so difficult already."
Of course, I would be. I'm not even from here. Learning about this world would help me greatly in my life.
Albert picked up a book by the title [Reading the World (For Idiots)] to read to Drizella.
I thought the title was very lame but I'm madder at 'For Idiots' part. It's indicating my father is an idiot including me... I'm not an idiot, am I?
From what father read this world is almost like the medieval time in Europe. However, this world has magic all around, electricity, technology, and science. It's like smashing the medieval time with the present to form the future. Nobles have more magical power than commoners but aren't seen as inferior. The ones seen as inferior are the women. They have lower magical power and can't level up in rank. This world really feels like Earth to her. Back in the day's women was inferior to men too. They are only seen as worthless being. They are only good at doing chores or selling to earn some cash. However, this world is better than Earth, women might be seen as inferior but they aren't discriminated...
The book was very simple to understand. I'm guessing that's because the book was for idiots... showing that I'm really am an idiot!? I didn't really care that much now, what I really what to know is magic.
Father explained that there are five Earthly elements which are fire, water, wind, earth, and metal. There are also five Heavenly elements which are light, darkness, space, time, and lighting. Earthly elements are common and heavenly elements are very rare. Only about 1 in a 100 would have three heavenly elements or 1 in a 1000 years would have four heavenly elements.
Albert laid his white hand out and a bright dazzling light shines from his hand. Drizella was truly amazed, she didn't think that she would really reincarnate to a magic world. She slowly places her hand on his hand feeling the warmth and smile proudly at him.
Albert was shocked by his daughter's action but still smile at her and Drizella got sight of his shocked but didn't know why.
When her father was reaching the end, Drizella notices that he skipped a few sections of the book. With her little fingers, she reaches out to point at what he was missing. He just smiles and told her that it was too soon for her to understand these sections.
Before Drizella could urge him to go on with her cute face, her mother appears in the door with an angry smile on her glossy lips.
"Dear, don't make me so worried. Please?" Mother sigh feeling relief at seeing father's good complexion.
"Sorry. Sorry for worrying you, Honey. Cough! Cough!" Father put his hands over his mouth covering his coughs.
Mother look at him with worry written all over her face but she didn't come to help father. Drizella guesses her father doesn't want to show her mother his weak side but he is always showing it. He must want to be a person that mother can depend on.
Later she finally knows the reason for her father shocked face. From what she heard from the maids, her father was diagnosed with a disease that slowly corrupts his insides and eats away his mana until he dies. Many stay away from him afraid of getting infected and only mother would tend to father.
The maids are always pitying and respecting my mother, respect her for always being strong and acting as the master of the house. Pitying her because her husband won't live long and she would end up as a widow sooner or later.
...
Drizella was forbidden going to the library. That was her first experience and last experience going to the library. From then on her father would read and play with her in her room but she would still creep to see if the library's door is open. It became her daily routine even to when she finally could walk properly.
I could finally walk but was still confined in my room and there isn't even a mirror to see my new self. This is so frustrating! If I don't even know what I look like how am I going to know what to work on.
Lia is always watching her with her (Lia) hawk eyes, if Drizella moves to a corner of the room her hawk eyes would stray there, watching Drizella's every action.
She is scaring me! I'm even sweating from all those staring!
Lia would continue the act of staring at her than sigh a very long sigh and shake her head at a loss for what to do.
I'm not doing anything that a two-year-old shouldn't do, only walking around the room with a ball and drawing on paper. So why is she sighing as she looks at me? TELL ME YOUR PROBLEM! I AM ALSO GETTING RECKLESS HERE!
Lia sigh one last time before she clearly stated, "Young miss, are you really two-year-old?"
Drizella dropped the ball she was playing with and turn her head robotically at Lia, with eyes wide open and more sweat dripping down her face.
