My Song

I woke up sweating and screaming and I felt scared. I was sitting upright and I was out of breath, then my mom came running towards into the room.

"Oh Miri is it the dream again?" She said while looking worried. I nodded shakily and my mom pulled me into a hug. This was not the first time I had had this dream. I had been having it for a few weeks. Then my mom said,"Miri I want to discuss something with you" And I said "Okay"

She took a deep breath in and said"I have been very worried about you lately,and I have think that you should see a counselor."

I did not like the idea very much but the bad dreams could not continue. So I agreed to it.

Ten minutes later after bathing and getting ready for school I went downstairs for breakfast.

"Good morning sis" my little sister Annie said while munching on a waffle. "Morning Annie" I said and then I took a seat next to her. I then took some puncakes and began eating. A few minutes later my older brother Adam came downstairs.

Adam is seventeen and he always wakes up late. Unlike other people he prefers to wear all black. That's because he's in a band. They are called Live Ghosts and they are a rock band. He won't let me go to their gigs though. He says it's because I'm too young for concerts.

As he came down I saw that like always he had headphones on.

He sat down next to me and then he swiped a pancake from my plate. I shot him a glare and then I continued eating.

After we had all finished,we went to the car and mom drove us to school. In the car,mom said that she had something to tell us.

"Kids I hate to tell you this but your grandad died last night" She said and it was then that I saw that her eyes were slightly red.

Then the whole world started spinning and my heart started to pound. And then tears started to spill from my eyes.

I wailed like a baby and soon enough Annie started crying with me too. When I looked over at Adam,he looked broken and his eyes were filled with sadness.

Grandpa had been sick for some months now. He had cancer,we found out about a month ago. Grandpa had been trying to hide his illness.

A few minutes later we arrived at Annie's school then we went to My and Adam's school.

When we arrived I literally jumped out of the car. I said goodbye to mom and went threw the school gates.

Once in I ran to the girls' toilet and went to an empty stall and cried. I cried until the warning bell rang. Then I wiped my face and put eyeliner on.

I then got out if the toilets and headed towards my first class. But I did not feel very well though. I could already feel that it was going to be a long day.
