After a second of a pause that felt like eternity, a rumble of laughter exploded from above my head. Startled, my head snapped back up and for the first time, I saw the most beautiful face I have ever seen in my life.
If I had to use 1 phrase to describe his looks, it would definitely be 'Boy Next Door'. He had the most shining pair of brown eyes, his sun kissed brown hair just the right amount of tossed up-ness; I don't think that's a word, but whatever; And his smile. Oh his smile, it was the most perfect thing I have ever laid my eyes on. Also, have I mentioned that he has an incredibly lovely voice? Because he does. It was just laughter, but I can tell his voice is definitely great.
There was just one teeny tiny thing that posed a problem for me. Bright! He was practically shining! So much so I had to avert my gaze, finding somewhere else to look but his face, least I be blinded by handsomeness.
"Sorry, sorry, you just reacted in a totally unexpected way I couldn't help it. But it seems like you're mostly fine. My back is fine too, in case you were wondering," the guy finally stopped laughing and I could feel his eyes on me, even though I was not looking at him. He was definitely too bright for my eyes. How could anyone like that exist? It was like he came right out of a storybook.
I glanced at that wall-back, directed by what he said, and my eyes widened; Due to amusement or terror, I couldn't decide. There, right at the center of that back, was a distinct pink stain in a lip shape. My lips. Why did I choose to wear lipstick today again? I looked back up and immediately began rummaging my bag for something to wipe as I exclaimed, "Oh my god! I don't think your back is as fine as you think... Argh, forget it! Hold this, I'll be right back! Don't go!" Unable to find any tissues, I grabbed my keys, took off my bag and bolted back into my house, leaving the probably bewildered, handsome guy behind.
The moment I stepped into the house, I ran right for the washroom, grabbed a face towel hanging next to the sink and ran back to where he was, thankfully, still waiting. I saw his eyebrows quirked up and knew he was definitely wondering what I was going to do next but I ignored it, walking right up to face his back and starting trying to get the stain off his shirt.
I felt his back suddenly stiffen when my fingers touched his back through the shirt and I quickly wiped off the stain. I took a step back to make sure that it was not obviously seen from afar before folding the towel.
"The stain is gone now. Thank you for holding on to my bag. I need to get going to school now. Again, I'm really sorry for bumping into you. See you around... Maybe." I stuffed the towel into my bag, gave a small bow and quickly took off in the direction to school. That was definitely the most awkward interaction on my part I've ever had.
It's my first novel and I'm slowly getting used to this whole writing thing and balancing out with work. It's hard, but I'm having fun! The chapters will definitely get longer with each release until I get to a comfortable length so please bare with this for a little bit! Thank you for reading :)
