After having a quick lunch with Mura, I followed her once again out onto the city streets of Saroff. This thus marked the start of me forced into volunteering to accompany her around for the entire day. I felt as if I have no real way to get out of this situation, and... yeah. I'm not getting out of this one.
She called a taxi to our location, and the two of us boarded the vehicle. Both of us were seated in the back seats of the car next to each other, and after Mura told the driver our destination, we were off and away. It would appear that she wanted to head to a nearby mall that's located in the largest entertainment district in Saroff. Entertainment as in entertainment that's for all ages, meaning there are movie theaters, arcades, and stuff like that. However, there's also bars and night clubs around that area, but those are separated from the areas targeted towards a wider age demographic group for moral reasons.
I gazed out the window as the taxi drove towards our destination. When we passed by a clothing store, I was suddenly reminded that Mura was wearing a skirt. I quickly glanced over at her and made sure that she was in fact wearing a skirt. Then, I looked forward at the rear view mirror in order to observe the driver. There didn't appear to be any suspicious movements of his eyes, but it's always better safe than sorry. I acted casually as I removed my coat and simply handed it to Mura while looking out the window.
"Here," I said, handing the coat to her. "Your legs get cold, right?"
She stared at the coat that I held in my hand with a confused expression on her face. Then, when I mentioned her legs, she looked down and seemed to have understood my intent. Then, with a smile on her face, she accepted my coat and placed it on her lap, using it to act as a small blanket that she could cover up her legs with.
"Pretty considerate boyfriend you got there," the taxi driver commented after hearing our conversation.
"He's not my boyfriend," Mura responded, laughing as if she had just heard a joke. "I'm his teacher."
"Teacher?" The driver sounded pretty surprised. "You look way too young to be a teacher. I thought you're also in high school!"
Mura simply chuckled in response to the driver's astonished comment. She seemed to be quite pleased by what the driver had said for there was a look of content on her face. I guess all woman would be quite joyful if they're told that they look quite youthful. That is if the woman doesn't look like as if she's twelve when she's over twenty. Then, that person might get mad for being mistaken for a children.
"So what's a teacher doing alone with her student?" the driver then asked.
"A private one-on-one lesson, of course," Mura intentionally said in a seductive voice as she placed a hand on my right thigh.
I looked down at the hand that was on my thigh and then over at her. On her face was an alluring smile as she jokingly acted the part of an immoral teacher. Why I know this? That's simple. I could sense no such intent from those green eyes of her's. Rather, it's a playfulness that shined there.
"A private lesson?" the taxi driver laughed. "Then I didn't hear anything."
Mura also laughed at the joke. I didn't though. I didn't understand what's so funny about the joke. Like is it something that only adults would laugh at? Like is it an adult fantasy? Or maybe, it's just the taxi driver laughing awkwardly because after that, he didn't say anything else for the remainder of the drive.
After exiting the taxi when we arrived at our destination, Mura handed my coat back to me, and I quickly wore it over my long sleeve shirt because it was pretty cold. I rubbed my hands together before using them to button up the front of my coat so that my stomach and chest was protected from the cold autumn wind. Mura was waiting for me to finish before she proceeded to enter the building where the mall was located in.
It was a pretty large building, on par with the mall buildings in Palisia. In addition, there were storefronts from the same big brands in Vilheim in this mall as well. Therefore, there was an odd sense of familiarity when I saw those labels.
I followed Mura as she went and checked out woman's clothing apparels. However, it wasn't as awkward as the time when I was with Luna since we weren't in a lingerie shop. Rather, we were in stores that sold normal clothing for woman. While in these stores, I would often hear murmurs commenting on Mura's appearance in the form of compliments for her skin, beauty, and style. However, Mura seemed to ignore their words as she checked out clothing that were on the racks.
"Would you like help searching for what you need?" A store employee came by, bowed her head, and smiled as she interacted with Mura in hopes of making sales.
As Mura communicated with the store employee, I stood behind her in a not too far distance, looking about in boredom. There weren't any males in the store at the moment, which is reasonable since we were in the wing of the mall that focused on female apparel. However, it's still possible to see some males in the form of husbands, boyfriends, or family members. Those were all people that will be accompanying a lady to this area, and since I'm not receiving any suspicious looks, the other customers and store employees must think I'm one of the three groups.
"How does this one look?" Mura asked as she held up a dress to her body. On her face was an anticipating smile, and next to her, the store employee that was helping her also had a patient smile on her face as she waited for my response.
"It's alright," I answered after taking a quick glance.
"Your boyfriend is pretty shy," the store employee jokingly commented.
"I'm not her boyfriend," I responded and sighed as I corrected the misconception.
"There might be a possibility for that though," Mura winked at me as she smiled in a joking manner.
"I'm not her brother as well," I added.
"You never know," Mura chuckled as she returned the dress back to the rack. "You have the chance to end up being my brother-in-law."
"You really think so?" I sighed.
"About what?" she asked without looking over towards me. "Boyfriend or brother-in-law?"
"Well," I lowered my head in boredom. "I guess both are equally impossible."
"Now why would you think that?"
"First," I said, looking up at her. "You're my teacher. Second... your sister, well... I don't think we can ever develop into that relationship."
"Well you never know," she smiled playfully as she turned her head to look at me. "Both have an equally good chance of happening."
"That's a pretty lame joke," I chuckled.
What she's jokingly suggesting really has a near zero chance of occurring in my opinion. It's just basically impossible. Therefore, any suggestion of such will only remain a joke and only a joke. There's no chance of it ever becoming a reality. Me dating her or me dating her sister both is... simply a fantasy that will never become a reality.
I felt my gaze soften as I thought about what she jokingly suggested. It's not like I would be against being in a relationship with either of the two since if anyone were to be able to date either one of the two sisters, then that person would be extremely lucky. Everybody would want to date Mura or Muria. If given the chance, maybe I would too. However, it's more of a problem with me than with them.
The reason why our chances are basically zero is because, first, they don't deserve to have their lives ruined by me. Second, I don't deserve a happy ending. I am a scum, the evidence for which I would prefer to not talk about yet. However... someone like me, someone as horrible as me, I do not deserve a happy ending. Rather, a tragic ending works better for me. It suits my style and everything. Therefore, I believe I will die alone, never ever actually being in a real relationship. Once I accomplish my purpose in life, let me rot. Let me fall into the abyss and live in the darkness of the city as I destroy myself and allow my life to decompose in the darkness of the city. I am a scum, and I deserve a tragedy.
With an accepting smile, I continued to follow Mura through the mall as she shopped for clothes. Boredom accompanied me for the rest of the shopping journey, but... I was forced to volunteer for such a position so I must finish it.
