Alner was the name of the world decided by the first Supreme Magus who ruled over the whole world with his nine apprentices. He was able to bring all the races together into a golden age and ran the world for approximately 3000 years until he had an untimely death.
Historians now theorise that his death was caused by infighting between the nine apprentices. Their relationship was indeed akin to fire and water, and they ended up in a free for all fight to the death. Full power attacks were sent between the apprentices. Seeing these attacks, the Supreme Magus gave his life to protect every one of his beloved apprentices.
Seeing that they had just killed their own master, it is believed that all the apprentices vowed right then never to fight again lest they commit another foul mistake. The apprentices couldn't stay together and so decided to split the land of Alner between themselves and take a portion to rule each. In the time of making the decisions, four of the nine apprentices succumbed to their guilt ending their lives and using their powers to create a power rule that for the next 100 generations of the apprentice's families they wouldn't be able to kill each other.
'We have fought for centuries, never-ending the struggle for power.
Never ending the love he had for us.
We ended that, we ended it all.
To bite the hand that feeds you, I wish that was all it was.
We destroyed the hand, destroyed everything.
There is no way to seek forgiveness for my actions, so I must pay penance to the gods.
Master, I am but a man who fell to his greed.
I hope I will be a better man in the next life, sorry for everything.'
That is a recovered letter which is believed to be the last writings of the Supreme Magus' 5th apprentice. The deep remorse and relationship between the two can clearly be felt from the writing.
After the land was split, there were five regions created called Sleatagar, Abarea, Tinnevar, Pocinet, and Clesarune.
There are ten knows races in this world with each region holding two races each, this work was a massive undertaking when done, but everyone was still under the impression that the Supreme Magus was still alive and was the one who made the decision.
His death was only announced after the mass relocation of all the races at which point the apprentices came forward as a ruler of each new nation.
The races and their homelands are as follow:
Pocinet - Human, Deapir
Sleatagar - Phago, Inac
Abarea - Holhog, Steknit
Tinnevar - Dware, Coron
Clesarune - Imaphines, Ketan
As an auxiliary chapter, this comes before the first chapter like a prologue if someone tries to read the novel.
Decided to just post it as an insert to stop that from happening.
