Tales of Demons and Gods - The path of creation.

Markus Eventide, a young man that's only twenty years old has known what pain and suffering since he was a young child.

The moment he was born, he was already different to the others newborns, although this was found out when he was four years old until then he was a normal healthy child, the only thing that put him aside from others was his mind. While other children were still learning how to speak, he already mastered five languages.

He was a true monster from the intellectual point of view.

This thought did not last long. When he was four, he suffered a seizure.

While the heavens have given upon him great intelligence, hell has cursed him with a sickness that was never seen before in this world.

When the manifestation of this came to appear, it was just torture. How one may ask? Well, it starts by robbing him of his senses, one by one taking them away.

First was his hearing, then his sense of smell, afterward came his voice together with his taste. Then his body, paralyzing him, from the tip of his toes, progressing upwards, until he lost all capacity of movement, making him lose all feeling.

And last, taking away his sight, tormenting him every day by taking his light more, until it leaves him with nothing more than the confines of his own mind. Nothing more than what would seem like an eternal void.

This process was a very slow one, that would have driven any normal man to insanity, but Markus preserved, he didn't panic; he did not give up on his life, and such he did whatever he could with the time he had left.

He studied up on Informatics and math. After he reached a level where he considered himself good enough her traded online.

What he studied proved to be useful, and so by the time he was fifteen, and he lost control over his body, Markus had already become a billionaire.

He never used the money for himself, choosing to create an association that helps children and teenagers, and leaving a few million for his parents, who were still only in their late thirties, and awaiting another child.

And so his time has come, he could no longer feel his body, and his eyesight was deteriorating. The medics said he would only have one year to 'live' before his organs will start to give in.

And so time passes on, the day has come when he lost his eyesight, and not long afterward, his heart gave in.

".... Where am I?" Looking around he sees a white room.

Raising himself, he gets a better look around, trying to understand what's happening, but then he comes to a standstill.

Looking down at his hand he raises it and clenches his fist.

A shocked voice comes out of his mouth.

"My body... I can feel it, I can move again... but how? And... and..."

Tears come down his face.

"I see that you already awakened, Markus Eventide."

Turning toward the voice, Markus sees a white heard man, who looks around forty years old, dressed completely in white, with deep blue eyes that look just like the sky itself.

A few moments of silence follows as the two men look at each other.

The stranger looks on with a smile, while Markus looks on with a sense of wonder, for he feels that the man standing before him is quite familiar.

Taking a deep, and calming himself.

"Hi, my name is Markus Eventide, if you don't mind me asking, sir, could you please tell me where are we, and it's not too much who are you?"

The man looks straight at Markus with a gentle smile on his face as he lets out a chuckle.

"What a strange one you are. You don't panic when you wake up in an unknown environment, then you chose to introduce yourself and then ask two simple questions while keeping yourself calm. "

"Really now, you haven't changed one bit."

"Now to answer your question, we are currently in the void, a space between worlds, between life and death. And as for who I am, well I am the one who created the world you used to live in. To put it bluntly, I am the God from the religions down on the planet."

Filled with shock and surprise, Markus looks towards the being that introduced Himself as God.

"I...thank you for answering my question. I hope you do not mind, but still, I need to ask. Why am I here?" As he looks around the unending void.

Looking at the young man before him with a sad face, "To tell you the truth, you weren't supposed to be here. You were not supposed to ever be sick and as a result, die at such a young age. You were meant for great things in your life Markus Eventide, unfortunately, because of an error in the system, you ended up like this. Now normally you would simply be put in the cycle on rebirth and be done with, but you see, because you never gave up even when you found out about your illness, and you chose to push on, you managed to save countless children and teens who, when they matured chose to follow in your footsteps and help others. And such the organization you build become the cornerstone of the world, and although problems never stopped appearing around the world, they were dealt with accordingly. Quite a few of the children that you have helped become a figure of leadership in the world. This practically means that because of your action countless people where saved, the world becomes a much better place than before. You practically saved billions of people. And as such you are allowed another chance at life, in a new world, be it a medieval world, an extraterrestrial one, a cultivation world, or a fictional one, or be it heavens themselves. Of course, you also get a few perks. So what do you say?"

Markus for one was dumbstruck. What he was told was simply just unbelievable, not to even say about being given another chance, while at the same time being allowed to chose where he will go and from what God said, he will also be allowed a few perks as well. All of this is simply not possible.

Seeing the look on Markus' face, God can't help but let out another chuckle.

"Yes, I know, it sounds unbelievable, but it is also the undeniable truth. You can be reborn wherever you want. Be it an anime world like Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, DxD, or a light novel like Douluo Dalu, Awakening, True Martial World, Tales of Demons and Gods, whatever you want. You can even choose to be reborn in an ordinary world. You can also choose a few small setting like the timeline or age of certain characters for the world you will be reborn into. Whatever you want, as long as it's not too drastic and you don't make to ridiculous of a demand it can be done."

Hearing all of this, Markus begins to think of his choices. After half an hour of contemplating.

"I'm ready."

"Are you sure? You can take your time, time is of no importance here."

Shaking his head, "No, truth be told, I already thought of something back when I was alive so as to pass time, but still, if you don't mind, could you help me with some of my choices? I would like your opinion and your thoughts. That way I can be surer of my future."

Looking at Markus, He nods his head, "Alright, I will help with whatever I can."

"Um, thank you. Well then let's see. I would like to be reborn in Tales of Demons and Gods. As for the changes, make it so both Xiao Ning'er and Ye Ziyun born four years earlier than in the original story. I also wish to be reborn around the same time as them and if possible for us to grow up together, as childhood friends. As for my parents, I would be thankful if they could be a pair of Black Gold cultivators that are friends with the city lord, such that they have enough power to protect themselves if the need arises, while also having protection from the political point of view from the city lord, Ye Zong. As for the timeline, it would be great if you could bring me in the first timeline, where Nie Li has yet to get the Temporal Demon Spirit Book. So, are my request alright till now, or did I changed it too much?"

Thinking for a few moments, "No, until now, everything is alright. Good choice of making it so that you and the two girls will be born four years sooner, this way you will have more time to grow both in power and experience. Also, the choice in the timeline is perfect, this way you should be able to get the Temporal Demon Spirit Book easily, with will help you greatly, truth be told this actually will help you a lot more than you think."

"How so?"

"Well you see, while the Temporal Demon Spirit Book will give you countless cultivation techniques and array teaching, together with alchemy, it will give you so much more. A few examples would be weapon forging, architectural techniques, and information, practically information on how to make a safe haven for humans, also not to forget the agricultural techniques, after all, you will need rare materials for alchemy, so this will help you cultivate your own resources, and an even more important thing, it will also give you access to an isolated training ground where you can make adjustments such as environment, gravity, and even the time acceleration. Truth be told, in the beginning, I always wondered why Nie Li never used them, but it turned out that he was truly mediocre from the mental faculties point of view, so he was never able to truly understand the Temporal Demon Spirit Book, and in the years he spent inside of the Temporal Demon Spirit Book he only got the cultivation techniques, alchemy techniques, and some array techniques together with learning the ancient languages, as for the rest discarded them, believing them to be unimportant and a waste of his time, when in truth he was just unable to either understand them or access them because of his lack of talent."

"...You must be joking... wait, what do you mean that he wasn't able to access them due to the lack of talent?"

"Nop, he really wasn't all that intelligent, as you should have seen in the story you have read, he made a lot of stupid mishaps, that in the end led to the death of many, as for access, well you need to at least have Heaven grade Spirit Root to be able to truly use the Temporal Demon Spirit Book, and he had a 7-grade Earth grade Spirit Root. And even then he wasn't really suited for cultivation, as it could be seen that he originally bearly broke taught the Heavenly Fate realm."

"So all in all, you should be able to go a lot farther than he did on the road of cultivation, although I must ask you, why did you choose this world, and what path do you want to follow there?" Curiosity could be heard in his voice.

Smiling, Markus begins explaining.

"I want a family. And by that I mean: parents, a wife, or in this case two wives, and children. Lots of them. As for the reason why I chose this world, it's quite simple. The worlds of TDG has a defined cultivation system that will allow you to get stronger, and by getting stronger I'll be able to protect my family, that and the place I would be born into would be the Divine Continent, also known as the Small World. As long as you are strong enough, that place can be considered a safe haven from the Sage-Emperor or the likes of him. Such I will have both the location and the means to grow. That and the fact that the place is practically a treasure trove."

"Hmm, I agree with you on everything. Now then, let's talk about the perks you will get, so what kind of abilities or weapons would you like?"

"For this, if it's possible, to get three asauchi, the special kind that was used to reforge Ichigo's and his comrades zanpakuto's, one would be for me and the other two for Xiao Ning'er and Ye Ziyun, and please make it possible for the 3 of us to bind them and awaken them later one, by replacing the need for Reiryoku and Reiatsu with soul force. And also make it so that the spirit of my zanpakuto to have all knowledge and mastery of Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Hohō, and Kidō so I may be able to learn and master as time goes on from her/him those abilities, that and a cultivation techniques for me, Xiao Ning'er, Ye Ziyun, my parents and Ye Zong That's about all."

"Hmm, that easy. You sure that's all you need? I mean I could give you all the knowledge the world of TDG has to offer, history, cultivation techniques, you name them and you have them. Why be satisfied with only this much when you can have so much more?"

Looking toward God, Markus lets out a small chuckle.

"What's the use of power if you don't earn it? I could have required Riujin Jaka as a zanpakuto or The Almighty ability from the Quincy king, but they wouldn't be my own. Just like I required for my zanpakuto to have all shinigami techniques learned and master so I may learn and master them with my own effort later on. As for cultivation techniques and all the rest, I can get them on my own later on. I need to suffer hardships in life if I wish to truly grow and acquire power with my own hand than become a hollow powerhouse that will not be able to do anything when the time of need truly comes."

Looking at Markus with a blank face for a few moments, God begins laughing. The please kind of laughter.

"Good, good, it shall be done. The way you chose to do thing will make it so that the power is truly yours. And as a bonus, I will add one more ability. Observation Haki. With this, your abilities will be complete."

Hearing this, Markus can't help but feel happy. Originally, he also wanted to add Observation Haki, but he didn't want to push his luck, but now things will be a low easier.

"Thank you for offering me all of this. If its possible, one day I will return this favor."

Waiving his hand, "There's no need for this. Everything we talked about was the result of your own effort. There is no need to pay me back in any way. So prepare Markus Eventide. For you will now be reborn. Enjoy your new life... my son."

And so darkness overcomes Markus again.
