You guys can say it all...... đ but I love these type of stories I also love action/ghost stories too đ
I really donât understand how some people can go into an authors comment section and bad mouth their book like IF YOU DONT LIKE IT DONT READ IT YOU DONT HAVE TO PUT THE AUTHOR DOWN!! Who cares if the books are similar ALL BOOKS ARE SIMILAR, Ex: werewolf books theyâre all the same I donât see anyone complaining some of yâall have no human decency have a good time finding a book thatâs different cause theyâll end up being similar either way it goes. Just enjoy the book donât be a b!tch about whether you like it or not đ
I think that people who say that Chinese romance novels are shockingly repetitive and full of misogyny should question whether they are imposing their own cultural bias. First of all, all romance novels, especially sub-genres, have tropes. For example, the wealthy, aloof, alpha-male archetype is reminiscent of Jane Austenâs Mr. Darcy, and is popular with women of many cultures. Second, the effects of Confucianism on eastern societies cannot be ignored, particularly Chinese and Korean. It sets up a bit of a dilemma. If an ideal woman, one sympathetic to the ideal audience, is supposed to be modest, then how can she approach and sexually ravage the male, romantic interest? How can she have sex with any man outside of her husband? Given that the books were not written, initially, for an audience with western sensibilities, the above should be considered. So, finally please remember that educating yourself about a particular culture before reading a novel written by someone from that culture will help you understand why the author or genre works as it does.
