Let’s Give It a Name

Mei Chao Bing carefully guided his little bunny in forming the contract with … well, the other little bunny. In fact, this matter of signing a contract wasn't too complicated. In short, the cultivator only had to use their spiritual energy and leave a mark of the spiritual beast's head. This type of beast had already formed a spiritual awareness that would be able to accept the mark if they wanted to form a contract. If the mark was rejected, then no matter how much the cultivator tried, they wouldn't be able to sign the contract successfully. But if it was accepted, then they would be bound together from now.

The only difficult part about this was to show Yun Bei Fen how to use the spiritual energy to leave the mark. For him who had only learned how to use this energy for anything else than taking it in and cultivating in the last few days, this was difficult. Naturally, he wasn't able to do it immediately.

Yun Bei Fen followed his senior martial brother with teary eyes, holding the little bunny on his arms and stroking its soft fur. Once again, he felt like an utter failure. He wasn't even able to form a contract with a spiritual beast. His senior martial brother Mei had thought of this to make sure that he would be able to defend himself better in the future. But he wasn't able to form the contract. What should he do?

Mei Chao Bing looked back at him and couldn't help but sigh. There really wasn't anything bad about Yun Bei Fen other than that his mind wasn't very stable. He found this kind of emotional behavior very cute but it would be detrimental for his cultivation in the future. Then again, Yun Bei Fen was still young. He hadn't seen much of the world either and had been coddled by his Master. Naturally, he had yet to mature.

Mei Chao Bing slowed down until he was walking next to Yun Bei Fen again and reached out, pulling his little bunny and the spiritual beast into his arms. "What's so bad about waiting a few more days to sign the contract? You can make sure that the two of you get along well." He ruffled Yun Bei Fen's hair and then rubbed the beast's head too. The bunny just continued to munch on the spirit grass that Yun Bei Fen had picked up from the side of the road for him. "Have you thought of a name yet?"

Yun Bei Fen stopped walking and blinked his big eyes. Right! He hadn't named it. He blinked his eyes once again while he pondered. "How about would … Xiao Tuzi?"

Mei Chao Bing coughed. If the one making that suggestion wasn't his little bunny, he really would be wondering if he was trying to say anything else with this. Never mind that calling a bunny a bunny wasn't too creative … this sounded like the name of a eunuch. "I don't think that's such a good name."

"Oh." Yun Bei Fen nodded, furrowed his brows and thought about it while he continued to pet the spiritual beast. "Then how about Xiao Hui?"

Mei Chao Bing looked at the bunny's gray fur and sighed. Well, in the end, it was only a spiritual beast. It probably wouldn't mind its name too much. "Why not? It sounds cute." It was much better than calling it a little bunny every time.

Yun Bei Fen beamed and stroked the spiritual beast's fur. "Did you hear that? Mei Chao Bing thinks it's a good name. So you're Xiao Hui now." He leaned down and kissed the little bunny on the forehead.

Mei Chao Bing tousled his hair and gave him a teasing smile. "What? I was the one who seriously pondered if it was a good name and the little thing is the one being rewarded for it instead of me?"

Yun Bei Fen blinked and then very honestly tiptoed and kissed Mei Chao Bing's cheek. He also would've kissed his forehead but … Mei Chao Bing was just too tall. He couldn't reach up there.

Mei Chao Bing looked at Yun Bei Fen dumbfounded. He had just casually said that. How come Yun Bei Fen really believed him and did as he was told? Ah, he really had to worry what his little bunny would do when he wasn't with him.

He grabbed Yun Bei Fen's waist and pulled him into his arms. "Fen'er, you wouldn't listen to other people like this, would you?"

"What do you mean?"

Mei Chao Bing wondered how to put his thoughts into words. "Well … If your Master tells you what to do, then you probably just do what he wants, don't you?"

Yun Bei Fen seriously pondered this question and decided that yes, most of the time, he would indeed do what his Master said. Thus he nodded like a good child.

Mei Chao Bing also nodded. He hadn't expected anything else. "And when I just told you that I deserved a reward, you just gave me that reward. If other people were to do that, would you also just give them a reward?"

Yun Bei Fen thought about it and wasn't sure how to react. If somebody deserved to be rewarded, then naturally, they should be given one. But if the reward was kissing them … He couldn't just casually kiss anyone, could he? He tilted his head and then looked at Mei Chao Bing with a puzzled gaze. "The reward they'd ask for … is it also a kiss?"

Mei Chao Bing stared at him, not knowing what to say. Should he say yes? And then tell him that he definitely wasn't allowed to do what they said? But who would actually ask him something like that? But if he said no … Then there was no reason to tell him not to just reward anyone who asked him. But if somebody really was shameless enough to ask for a kiss, then what if his little bunny really got asked?

Mei Chao Bing faced the front again and pulled Yun Bei Fen with him. "Anyway, if anyone ever asks for a reward from you, just come and discuss with me first. It's not good to promise something immediately. We should decide how to handle it together."

Yun Bei Fen didn't really understand why but he still nodded. If that was what his senior martial brother Mei wanted, then naturally, he would do so. Certainly, Mei Chao Bing knew best.
