40 Lord Boros's Work Part 4

He left the room and let his wings reveal themselves, he was no longer fighting Lord Blentus, he didn't need to hide them. He arrive in the room where Kaylyi was and she lifted her head and instantly looked at his wings.

"Are you curious about the door frame or are you interesting in my wings?"

"Are you, you are like me?"

"I am a child of day, and a child of the night."

"You are a demon too?"

"I guess, if you want, I am a demon," He held his head, "Is there anything for crazy painful headaches?"

"Yes, did you, did you pass?"

"Yeah, I did, I did, but just give me something, I'll explain it once my mind can work straight."

"Oh, okay, let me get that for you."

"Do you like my wings?"

"Of course I do, they make you look like my kind."

"Except complete, not a demi."

"Yes, and wait, do you also have horns?" Vidian let his horns reveal themselves and grow back to their natural size, "Are you tricking me? Or are you like, actually like this?"

"I am like this at least, for this part of my life."

"You look amazing."

"In what way?"

"You look good and it makes you look like a supreme being."

"Don't exaggerate," He said, drinking the mixture she gave him, "I not amazing."

"You are, you really are."

"Do you like me?"

"No, of course not," She said, going back to working, "You just look good."

"Do you think a man can have more than a single love in their life?"

"I guess, why?"

"Do you think that that love would be genuine?"

"If it would be true and pure, yes I think so."

"Kaylyi, can you," He grabbed his ribs, and faked pain, "God, my ribs hurt."

"Vidian, what is wrong?" She got up and quickly moved towards him and held him up, "Are you okay?" He wrapped his arms around her and hugged her, "You were faking, why?"

"Kaylyi, do you think that I am a coward?"

"No, you stood up against Lord Blentus."

"Do you think I am a bad man if I have had 5 lovers in my life?"

"No, why would that matter?"

"Kaylyi, I love you."

"You what?" She pushed him away from her, "You what?"

"I love you," He looked down, "I guess you don't love me."

"Wait, wait, you are lying, you can't actually love me? I am ugly, I am not fit to be a lover, I've never had experience with this, I don't know what love is, you can't possibly love me, I am hideous, I am half-demon."

"I am going to stop you right there, do you think being half of what I am makes you hideous to me?"

"No?" She looked unsure about what she was saying.

"You are gorgeous."

"I am?"

"You are caring."

"Really?"

"Why are you unsure for yourself?"

"I don't know, you were so sudden."

"I know, but you have time, I will wait for your answer."

"For how long?"

"How long do you need?"

"I have never been in love, like, before you."

"I have been in love several times before."

"Do you actually love me?"

"I do, Kaylyi."

"I don't know, I don't know, Vidian, I can't decide."

"Then I won't force your hand, you have all your time, I will go for a walk."

"I have work to get to."

"Then I won't disturb you," He headed to the door, "See you later."

"Your wings look amazing."

"You really like them."

"I wish I had the same ones."

He sat on the same stone as the day before, and once again he heard Lady Sinestra walking towards him. He heard one of her blades slide over the other, "What is it with you and trying to stab me, Lady Sinestra?" He turned his head and dodged the blade, "Why are you doing this?"

"For no reason," She said so normally as Vidian's wings created armor around him and his hands created two blades on the end of his arms, "You don't have to climb on your high horses, I just want to allow you to do my work, and get started ahead of time."

"What?"

"Temptation and sin go together pretty well, and one of those temptations I know you have is Kaylyi, I know what you did earlier, you told her that you loved her, but do you really?" Her blades bounced off of his.

"I do, I wouldn't put myself through that if it was fake."

"I want you to force her."

"What?" He lost focus and one of her blades hit his armor, "Why? Why would I do that? Why would I force her to do anything like that?"

"Do you want to complete your work?"

"I am not doing that today, I am resting!" He made her blades slip out of her hands and shoved her back with his foot, making her fall, "I don't start until tomorrow."

"You fight well," She said, getting up and dusting herself off, "And you hit hard."

"Blame Lord Blentus, Lady Sinestra."

"I will," She laughed, "If you talk to Kaylyi about anything I said, you will suffer in tomorrow's work."

"Sure, whatever you say," He said as his wings returned to his back and his hands lost their blade aspect, "I will see you tomorrow."

He stood in front of Lady Sinestra as she played with his daggers, "I am ready to start your work."

"Good, good," A wicked grin grew on her face, She stood from her seat and gestured for him to walk, "Do you know what human societies consider sins?"

"A few things."

"Murder, rape, cheating, physical assault, things like that."

"And I guess this work involves those things?"

"Maybe, and they might involve Kaylyi, or they might not."

"You are the cruelest goddess I know."

"Am I?" She smiled at him and giggled. They arrived in a room with three people tied down to boards all three looking towards them, "How do you enjoy murder?"

"I don't."

"If I told you that is you kill the right one you can pass this work?"

"Actually?"

"Of course," She held out one of her daggers, "Oh, sorry, you have your own."

"So I just kill one?"

"What do you think?" He looked up at the three people tied down. He created a spear in his hand and then hesitated, "They are all criminals, this one murdered someone, this one raped and then murdered someone, and this one raped and murdered a child."

"I have a feeling you are lying."

"I am not," He hurled his spear at one of the men, then threw two more, killing all three men, "Oh, well then," She snapped her fingers and the boards spun, "What a bummer, I lied about you passing the test in one go," A taunting message was written on the back of all three of the boards, Better luck next time, "If you refuse to do one of my tasks, you will fail."

"I assumed that," He said, pulling his three spears from the boards and absorbing them back into his body, "What is next?"

"Eager to sin?"

"Eager to be done with this."

"What tempted you to kill all three?"

"The things you told me."

"They were innocent," She laughed with cruel tone, "Follow me," He looked back at the three boards and then turned back to follow Lady Sinestra, "How far are you willing to go during this work?"

"I don't really know."

"Here is your next test," He looked forwards and saw a woman bound to another flat board, "You know what I want."

"What do you want?"

"To sin," She sat down and twirled one of her daggers in her right hand, "Come on, get a move on," He walked towards the woman who had tears in her eyes, "Don't diddy daddle, get to it, I want to see this sin," He moved closer to the woman, "She will die regardless, if you refuse to sin or if you do," He moved closer to the girl and held her hand.

"You can't talk but squeeze twice if you think I will rape you," He felt both, "I have to sin, and you are the victim, if you want me to go through with it, squeeze my hand once, if you want to die, twice, if you want me to kill you and sin through murder, three times," He felt her squeeze twice, then hesitate, before feeling a third squeeze, "I am sorry, I really am," His arm lit up with markings as his fingers formed a blade and he slashed at her throat, "Lord, why?" He moved away from the board and saw Lady Sinestra roll her eyes, "I sinned, you never said I needed to rape her, but instead, I murdered her."

"Well, you do have a point there, that was boring, but you have one last thing to do," She sighed and got up before walking ahead of him again, to a doorway, then gestured for him to go ahead of her, he did and as soon as he set foot in the room, he felt something was off. Something jammed itself into his shoulder, Lady Sinestra's blade, he fell back as his body went weak, "Your sin wasn't to rape her, it was to cheat on your love," She hissed, "This blade contains poison, one that will make you bestial and once you see Kaylyi you won't be able to control yourself, you will deny the wound being my blade's fault, and that will be your last work," The blade slowly slid from his shoulder and he lost consciousness.

He woke up with Kaylyi above him, tending to his bleeding shoulder, "Vidian are you okay? What happened during the work? Why were you bleeding?" His eyes looked around and once they found hers everything changed, the only thing passing through his mind was her, "Vidian? Are you okay? Wait, is this, is this Lady Sinestra's blade?" He rose and grabbed her, "Vidian! Stop!" He couldn't control himself. Her right arm slammed into his head and made him let go of her, her demonic power, "Vidian, please, I don't want to hurt you, if Lady Sinestra did this, you have to control yourself, get a hold of yourself!" He got up and spit blood on the floor, "I don't want to hurt you I said," She said, pulling off her glove and sleeve that covered her demonic arm, "Please don't," He charged at her and as she swung at him, he ducked and tackled her. He found himself over her, with her arms pinned by his legs. She looked up at him as he panted and looked down at her and licked his lips, "Please, no, Vidian, please don't do this," He split his arms and pinned her with two and grabbed her clothes with the other two, "No! Vidian! Please! Don't! Please!" He grinned at her and he began untying her clothes slowly, "Please, you don't have to do this, I love you, please don't do this to me, I love you! You don't have to do this!" His eyes returned to normal and he was lost as he found himself above her without knowing what happened. She didn't realize and got her right arm loose and slammed it into his stomach, sending him flying off of her, "Please, Vidian, I don't want to hurt you."

"Oh my lord, that hurts," He said holding his stomach, "What the hell did I do?"

"Vidian? Is that you? Are you okay?"

"Yeah, except for my stomach."

"Did Lady Sinestra do this?"

"Yeah, but I still need to deflower you, or else I fail my work."

"I would prefer it, over rape, but I don't know, I am not sure if you really love me," He got up and walked towards her slowly, "Please don't pressure me."

"I don't want to, and I don't want this to happen again, I don't know what I did."

"You were going to rape me."

"I assumed that."

"I love you and all that, but I don't want you to take everything like that."

"I can give you something and you can give me something back?"

"I do love you, I want to hear you say it before."

"Kaylyi, like yesterday, I love you."

"Then, if you must, I want to, but you have to listen to me."

"Of course I will, why would I not?"

He stood in the main room of the temple with Lord Boros tapping his fingers on his throne, "I hear that you have completed all my gods tasks."

"He has, Lord Boros," Lady Sinestra said as she walked into the room, "Lord Blentus agrees," Lord Blentus appeared in the room and Lord Insantiuny walked in as well, all four cruel gods were in front of him. Lord Boros stood and walked towards Vidian.

"You are an amazing mortal, Vidian," Lord Boros placed his hand on Vidian's shoulder, "Fit to carry my blessing," He reached out and his hand entered a portal and pulled out a tiny sickle, a blood red sickle, "You have made it here, and you will now head to the Great Desert, nothing else stands in your way."

"Thank you, Lord Boros."

"My blessing will make you near immune to pain and if you strike with no weapons, you can open wounds, this is what my blessing will give you."

"Thank you, Lord Boros, Lord Blentus, Lord Insanity and Lady Sinestra, I shall now go see to my fate."

"I believe that there is no need to tell you something about the Death of the World."

"Actually, I wanted to know."

"Tell me, Vidian."

"What is it like?"

"Even for a god I learnt what pain was, it is the worst thing you will ever feel, Lord Blentus prepared you for a fraction of that work."

"Thank you, Lord Boros, I will be leaving now."

"No, thank you."

He began walking towards the stairs that lead back down to the village, "Vidian!" He turned and saw Kaylyi standing at the entrance of the temple.

"Kaylyi."

"I'll miss you."

"Yeah, I will to," She quickly moved towards him and hugged him, "I will to."

"Will you come see me again?"

"If I can, I will, trust me."

"Thank you, Vidian, I hope your efforts were not in vain."

"They weren't."

"Well," She moved away from him, "I guess you are going."

"I am, I have a date with destiny."

"Goodbye then."

"I love you, Kaylyi," He spread his wings and lowered himself before pushing off and flying towards the Great Desert, where his worst nightmare was soon going to wake.
