Short Happy Days...

There was a heated atmosphere at home. Anne was walking to and fro in full rage..

" I want to marry Lawrence .. And I promise you, Annie, that we will be happy and now that I am pregnant we can't delay it anymore.. "

At last Annie had to agree. She was not at all happy at this marriage, Lawrence did not even have a job and was still studying.. A marriage at this time, that too with a child, it will ruin their future.. But Juliet was very adamant, and Annie herself had been praying to all gods for a long time to have a baby.. She couldn't destroy the life of her sister's baby.. So she agreed for the marriage at last.

Lawrence was first shocked with the news.. They both had been together for four months now and he was so happy with her. But he did not expect their life to take an unusual leap all of a sudden. He was not prepared for it. But seeing Juliet full of happiness, he had no other option. He knew going to college at this time will not be possible for him now. So he quit the college and went for the search of a job.. The wedding date was nearing and he was jobless.

It was the night before their wedding..They were lying in the garden holding hands...

" We will let our little princess play here.. At this corner there are no roses so she wont be hurt by the thorns and lets grow lillies here.. mm.. What will we name her?.. Yes.. Lets name her Bella" Lawrence winked with excitement..

" How are you so sure its a girl..? What if it turns out to be a boy? " Juliet was teasing Lawrence..

" No way, I can already feel her lying beside us.." He kissed Juliet in the forehead and the couple embraced each other in the moonlight.

Bella was startled.. The diary fell from her hand at once.. She felt she has seen something so similar in her dream.. It was not a mere dream after all.. It was what she heard in the garden when she was in her mother's womb.. It was real.

The bus was travelling in a rough road and she swayed and hit her head on the handle in her effort to take the diary from the floor. This diary was really precious to her now and she treasured it more than anything..

She turned to the page where she had stopped..

Juliet was all dressed in white with a beautiful tiara on her head, Lawrence was all the more handsome in his velvety coat and charming smile.. It was the wedding day and the couple looked great together..

Bella saw a wedding photo pasted on her mother's diary and she was really impressed at their parent's beauty and charm.

It was a small wedding since both of them had very few relatives and both the bride and bridegroom were very young and childish..

After the marriage too, Lawrence was jobless. He locked himself in his study in the garden and mingled very less with his old friends except for Andrews. Andrews came every day and Lawrence gave him some papers each time he left.

Juliet wondered what it was all about and was really getting hot tempered. She scolded him everyday for being so useless.. Her sister and her husband was taking care of them and Juliet hated this.. She was getting hysteric and the pregnancy was making it worse for her. Even though they both loved each other dearly there was a great distance developing between them. After a few months one day Lawrence approached Juliet, " I know I am being a useless husband, but I had something in mind. But it is really not working out. I promise you I'll find a job soon. I want our baby to be proud of her father.."

Juliet was very happy when Lawrence fulfilled his promise within a few days. She was sad though that because of their love, he had to stop studies and adjust to a petty job.. But she hoped he would continue his studies later, after their child is born and as they become more stable.

Every night she still saw Lawrence walking to the garden to his study room and writing something intently. Out of curiosity, one day she opened the study when Lawrence was out for the job. She was surprised to find his table loaded with writings. She took out a bundle and noticed it was some story. She torn out the first page and placed it in her skirt pocket. She sat to read the story. It took her the whole day reading it and she was really surprised. The story was so beautiful. She was addicted to it.. But it was still incomplete. She was nearing her delivery date and was feeling pain in her stomach. There was a little panda on his table top. He always loved pandas and they had even planned to buy a baby panda for their little baby to play with. This doll though lifeless was so adorable.. She carried it and showed it to her big baby bump. She felt it was kicking her with excitement and Juliet chuckled. She was startled to hear some footsteps in her direction but was not able to get up. She saw Lawrence watching her at the door,

"I am sorry Juliet, I really tried to stop writing but I couldn't.. I know you might be angry..."

Juliet gestured Lawrence to come to her. As he came near her she pulled him closer and said in a low weak voice, "I am really proud of you dear, this is the most beautiful story I ve ever read. I am sorry I stopped you from doing what you loved to do always… I think our baby is waiting to see her daddy, its kicking so hard..." Juliet was about to collapse now and Lawrence quickly grabbed her in his arms and rushed to the hospital.

"I want you to complete your story before our baby is born.. Rush and write.. "Juliet told Lawrence. The doctor said it would take a few more days for the delivery so Lawrence rushed to the garden.

The next day, Juliet was lying in the hospital bed reading comics. Lawrence came to her and sat near her bed, "Baby, all these days I had given Andrews my novel works to publish part by part.. He has said me repeatedly that it was a flop and I believed him. I have been thinking my novel was a waste until yesterday when you told me that it was really good. So I checked out its reviews from my other friends and was surprised to find that my novel is becoming a huge hit worldwide. The author is still unknown as I have not disclosed it yet and have decided to reveal my identity on the release of my last chapter. I wonder why Andrews had been lying to me all this time. Anyway, I am going to meet the publishers and reveal my identity today. I may get a little late. And if anything happens to me, Julie, this is my study room key.. you have to publish those last chapters.." Saying these Lawrence placed the key of his study room on Juliet's hand. He kissed her goodbye and left the hospital.

Juliet was not very happy.. She was feeling scared.. Lawrence had looked very serious and his words looked very meaningful.. " If I did not return…" these words were making Juliet really uncomfortable..

Her belly was aching and she was feeling the pain.. Before she stopped writing her diary she gazed at the little Panda that she was holding. It was so adorable…
