Summer

The weather outside is too hot. I'm kinda lucky that I go to work early and then get home in the late afternoon. At times like this, I'd rather stay home and do nothing.

By next month we will have our annual team building in the beach. Usually its also a family day for most of them but now its also for me too.

The girls were bugging me to bring my Kenji. They find the baby so adorable. I know its beneficial if I expose him to some crowd. He usually sees only the both of us except when we go out.

My phone rang and its my cousin Mihaela.

"Sasa!" greeting me with her usual chirpy voice.

"Mimi! Wazzup?"

"I got my vacation leave and I have some things to process there in the city. Can I stay a bit in your place for just a week?" I gulped upon hearing the 'stay for a week.' She doesn't know that I have a guy with me and a baby in my flat right now.

"Sasa? Are you still there?"

"Yeah... I'm still here. " Now I'm trying to sound cheerful so she won't notice. "When are you coming?"

"I'm leaving tomorrow morning so most probably I'll be there before lunch. Don't worry no need to pick me up. I know my way. Anyway it's a weekend tomorrow so you'll be at home right?"

My eyes widened. It's like my mind is screaming, the sirens are on with a big 'ALERT! ALERT!' We had plans to go swimming tomorrow morning. I want to seriously scream now but I'm at work so i have to maintain my composure.

"Ah... Yes... I will just wait for you. Okay?"

"Okay! Bye Sasa! See you tomorrow!" then she hung up. I'm on facepalm mode now. We've been planning about this since the summer started. Oh dear... How can bring up the bad news to Reeve now? I know he is very understanding but still... Anyway my cousin only gets to visit once in a while so it won't hurt to move it by next week.

I was standing at the door while holding the handle. I took a deep breath and then opened it. I was greeted with a big smile by Reeve and a laughing Kenji who was tapping his toy towards him. He shifted his attention back to the baby and started talking to him. It's like Kenji was telling him a story.

"I'll go get changed" I walked towards my room and sighed as I closed my door. I can still hear them both. Well I'll just tell him later before he goes for work.

After changing my clothes I closed my fist and cheered myself up. This is it! You can do it girl!

I took Kenji from him. I was about to open my mouth when his phone suddenly rang. What a bad timing it is! He's now busy on his phone. Probably talking with someone at work. I didn't mean to listen its just that I could hear them. I followed him with my eyes as he walked towards his room and brought his towel with him. It's bath time. But isn't it a little too early? He turned to me and we were like having a staring contest.

"What?" he asked as he looked puzzled.

"What?" I mimicked him. He laughed.

"Do you want to say something? Cause you've been staring me for a while now without blinking your eyes."

I was staring at him? It's like my mind is buffering. I was too immensed with my thoughts as of the moment. Now I remembered! I have to tell him about my cousin!

"Ah by the way..." he suddenly cut me off asking me if we could postpone the swim later in the afternoon because he had to cover his workmate for 2 hours more. I just nodded but deep inside I wanted to tell him No! Let me finish my sentence first! But he went to take his bath and hurried on his way to work.

Great! I wasn't able to tell him. I didn't tell anyone about my current setup right now. That I'm living with a guy who's acting like a dad for my instant baby.

It was late at night and I'm trying to compose a text message for Reeve.

"Hi... By the way..." I ended up deleting it.

"Reeve Good evening! Regarding our swimming can we..." delete... Delete...

I was staring at my phone if only my mind could type cause my fingers won't move.

"Reeve... My cousing is coming tomorrow afternoon. Can we resched our swimming on the next weekend?" maybe I could add some emoji? But it would look a little flirty.

I placed my phone on my tummy and stared at the ceiling. I wouls certainly hate to get last minute cancellation since I'm the scheduled type of person.

Next thing I know it was morning already. I can hear someone opened the door. What time is it? I searched for my phone and wondered if I ended up sending the text message. I opened my phone and found myself sending him random letters and he replied with a lots of laughing emoji. I looked at the time and it's 8am already? Oh yes he told me he will be having an overtime. The crib was gone too. He came into my room? Did I drool? Wait... This isn't my room. I fell asleep on his room! He also placed some blanket over me. I know I'm having a crazy morning!

I looked myself at the mirror and checked my breath. What the heck? Why am I acting like this? This is so crazy... I folded the blanket and fixed my clothes and went outside.

"Good morning..." he greeted me. He was holding Kenji on his arm while fixing the table.

"Good morning! Sorry I didn't know your were in my room so I took Kenji before he was about to cry." he chuckled. I bet he remembered the text I sent.

"Sorry about last night..." I smiled sheepishly.

"You want to tell me something?"

"Yeah..."

"Okay..." he gestured for me to sit and then he sat opposite to me. "Okay what is it?" he asked calmly while placing Kenji's bib.

"Uhm... My... Cousin... Is...." he's looking at me right now trying to anticipate my next words.

"You have a cousin?"

"Yeah... And she's...." the doorbell suddenly rang. "Did you order something!?" I was surprised cause I wasn't expecting anyone.

"I was about to..." he picked up his phone and checked.

"Let me get it." I walked towards the door and my eyes widened as I opened it.

I thought she was coming after lunch time...

My cousin is grinning widely at me now...
