I can guess, even if he didn't let her down when he lied to his father, she would probably blame him for something else. Like, his family plot to destroy her family. But if his family didn't destroy hers, hers would destroy his. Ah~ well, I don't judge him. For his time period he was very progressive. He was even unfilial to his family so he can marry her. He let her do her creations and her business. Like, if he was typical man of that time she would be forbidden to do many of those things. His mistake was lying to his father, but how would he know that his father would tell emperor. Actually the problem was that she looked everything with her modern mindset in ancient setting. You can't expect everyone to conform to your wishes. If she wanted to change how women are treated in that time, that would be a long process. It would be nudge here, nudge there. To reveal her intelligence one step at a time. Make that women are also accepted in that academy. If she waited maybe she would be acknowledged. (even if she's like 50). But she couldn't wait anymore. I do pity her, but actually it was not his fault. The only enemy of her was herself. She was self destructive from the beginning, but she hid it behind the fake smile. This is just my interpretation, maybe the things are totally different and I'm wrong.

I want to cry for them both. I know that theirs will be a bittersweet ending, but I can't help myself from being sad for the both of them. Gosh, why are there onions everywhere??

No one was at fault or both of them were at fault in case of yue ze and wei yunjing but I'm no relationship expert. Yue ze had something in his life :a goal to achieve which was the lingxin academy and running it while yunjing had no more goals left in her life after her dreams being shattered. She held on to her past for her dear life and became more sad and depressed. Her past life was already tragic and yue ze gave her the hope for a new hopeful life but she was back to square one. Two tragic life she lived. It was more traumatizing for her. Will yujia have such tragic life again just like her past life?

This was inevitable.. All the promises of their younger self held no more importance in their present life. This sentence made me realize how fickle our promises are and we hold on to these promises for future. Change is the only constant and we change, our circumstances change, life changes and our promises hold no more value to such changes. Moral of the story: just don't believe or make promises. I for once never believe such people and all these promises to woo a girl sounds such a cheat thing. But well..modern girls are a bit smart I believe not to fall for it or maybe not.

Well, our mc is also someone who was unsuccessful in her previous life, right? Their personalities are similar too!! Damn!! It seems like she is going in the same path of wei girl's demise. I hope she will become strong enough to not end her life just like that. She still have her master's support,experience and his guidance. I will not add ml in her "most trusted people" as he is not our typical loyal dog cliche ml from other stories. He is too much human to bring disaster for himself just for the sake of wooing a girl lmaooo 🤣🤣🤣

You once said yujia and this wei girl stories are quite parallel, right? I can see the obvious similarities. But there is still a mystery that have to be revealed about yujia's past, i mean what's shady business going on between her "parents" and ml's father. Is she really the illegitimate daughter of yang family, why was she poisoned like that? That poison isn't any regular poison. Her getting poisoned with rare poison sounds more like a political conspiracy than backyard women's butcher fight. Also, wei and yue families were political rivals. Thats the case with yang and ml's family. I don't think yujia is really their daughter. And if that conspiracy involves ml's father. Then it will be the same tragic ending all over again!!

She couldn’t hold on anymore, so she left. That’s sad. Good chapter! Didn’t cry though. Finally we’re going back to the present. Ought to be a good lesson to Yujia on things to avoid—marrying your dad’s rival’s son, for one.

I've cried. Why the ending of their love story was so sad. Though I've anticipated the story would come to this. She's tired of everything. Her life had no meaning anymore.

I knew this was coming. I could feel it. Knowing what was coming didn’t stop me from crying. His realization of what happened is what killed me. That deep sorrow. I wonder how our dear artist will respond to the story told by her Master.
