A sticky warmth spread across my chest as Akiko clung to me desperately crying as she let out a string of mumbled words; wails and sniffs punctuating what seemed to be ends to her sentances. Her hair was smooth beneath my hand with clumped tips from run away strands caught in the smudges of snot and tears. While waiting for her breathing to even and her grip to loosen if even just a little bit I wonder what happened to her today. She had come home, tears streaming, barely able to navigate the simple layout of our home to loose strength as soon as her hand had clasped my shirt. We had collapsed then and there not moving a single step more. I clung to her just as fiecely, wanting to protect her from anything that was harming her.

It wasn't a secret that kids could be mean but I'd never seen her like this, we had worried she had never had to deal with bullying; no one took notice of her abilities and treated her the same as anybody else. Well almost, the boys loved her stick and spent many days asking to come over to play magic girls in our local park. The sniffeling had started to subside and a little nose was rubbed along my shoulder.

"Oi you little..." she pulled away from me still sniffeling but with a giant giggle of which I couldnt help but to return. "So now you've calmed down can you tell me what happened or is it a sister thing." She paused slightly.

"Sister fing" she tugged at the bottom of my top "my hanky now, off off" i helpped her pull off my top and as her fingers brushed over my shoulder she started to giggle.

"What? Whats so funny about you stealing my shirt?"

"I can't see but i suggest you look in the mirror. It seems you got caught by a large cat" She giggled again as she brushed the ground till she picked up her stick. I clapped my hand to my neck and could feel raised edges of scabbing. After I helped Akiko up I darted to the entrance way mirror to see a set of newly scapped bite marks. I turned back to Akiko as she trailed her hand along the hallway wall towards the stairs, "Elisiaaaaa, Oliviaaaa, Brother Fee found himself a girlfriend." That little gremlin, making herself feel better by throwing me under the sister bus. If my tourture will make her feel better I guess its not too bad although if they want an answer they'll have to catch me first. I smirked and started to dash through the house, I'll be safeish if I manage to get to dads work shop.
