Heavy Activity

"Have you heard?"

"Huh? Heard of what?"

"Union officers are appearing left and right, do you think something is going to happen?"

"That's wild, why haven't I ever heard of this?"

Their chat goes back and forth discussing about recent activities occurring in the city. Union officers were appearing from nearby regions that span hundreds of kilometers, an event to this magnitude must've been vital.

Bai Li was nearby eavesdropping at the internet cafe, taking swigs of his carbonated beverage, a commodity one could enjoy once in awhile.

But his appearance in the cafe wasn't for him to relax, he was actually waiting for the proper announcements to be made so he can start moving.

And just in the matter of an hour waiting for the perfect news.

On all monitors in the cafe, a government ran program ran through, a map of the Golden Star Region of the Soul Realm appeared.

>Warning<

>Warning<

>Saint Blood Beast has appeared in the general vicinity of the [ Meteor Falls ] Region <

>Please take caution when venturing out in the wilderness, the Union is not responsible for any casualties in these matters<

A large map blinked with seven regions with several tracks running throughout showing the usual routes of parties as recorded by census.

Above the Bareback Sand Valley region was a small little area that transitioned from green to red.

The exclamations and remarks of the customers in the cafe were mixed with frustration and fear, due to that maybe their party was going to venture into these parts of the cities.

The Union only made these announcements to fulfill their level of assistance to the citizens of the Union. But in a case similar to this, it was basically the minimal assistance that they would give any other, a simple shout out that wasn't dire nor enforced.

To the people in the cafe was devastation but to Bai Li, this was a golden opportunity.

What is that opportunity you might ask?

If no one could guess the glimmering of fortune in Bai Li's irides was the acquisition of more beast souls, and not of armor variants. But an ability!

Similar to that of role playing games, with constant level grinds and receiving astonishing abilities to work with, that type of ability!

The soul as a vessel though reflects the affliction and true nature of the soul do not always adhere by any law, but they do follow patterns.

Souls appear commonly in a physical state such as weaponry and armors, however another category was definitely innate abilities.

Innate abilities fall into three subcategories of Enhancement, Augmentation, and Talents. The soul only categorizes into three archetypes but the last could be spoken later, they do not appear whatsoever in the First Gate and researchers reported their findings reaching absolutely nothing.

Enhancment just likes its name boosts the body's performance in certain categories. Augmentation could change the prospect of the body to another type similar to that of their former origins of the beast soul. While Talents was something entirely different and be given the ability to use particular skill sets that the originated beast could use.

Bai Li knew of these chances and receiving an ability would definitely be a gift from above with the recent streak of luck that lady fortune had given to him, not knowing when he would be given misfortune at any point of time.

But if one was pessimistic, the outcome would always end what one views that while being optimistic highlights the small chance of the outcome.

Bai Li grabbed his pack and threw away his carbonated drink heading towards the gate with fervor, his broad steps spoke of a man who could walk forth against all odds, destroying everything in their way.

The gate was in sight and the lines were short due to the recent announcements. teams nearby were attempting to map out another idea for them to make their dues to live further.

"Name?"

A different person was in charge this time for reception.

'Did they change him?'

The man's complexion was much more pale, a sense of peculiarity emanated from him, his skin was not tanned one would take if they were to actually live in the desert like the locals. His dark brown eyes watched vehemently with an aura of strong order or professionalism.

Bai Li handed him his identification, which directed him under the authority of the Bright Star League. His professional composure dissipated for a brief moment, something was definitely up, but fighting against authority was a trifling matter.

"Go ahead."

His heavy voice allowed his passage through the gate without dealing with much of the hassle of straightforward paper work.

Taking a deep breath, Bai Li reminisced the feeling but was brought back with his objective.

The world waits for no man, one is to get on his feet to never fall behind.

Heat struck his face as the views of dunes numbered throughout his vision. Reaching Meteor Falls would be a long journey, but he packed accordingly for the event and expended even much more credits then a man would ever need for a hiking trip. Even buying the quality ration bars that could make one survive for a year was in his premise of preparation.

Each step goes on for days but more oddities consecutively was in his mind.

No monsters were in sight but the occasional ant and spiders were giving him strange vibes.

With the recent activity of the Union forces slowly drifting towards this region and the absence of beasts higher than mutant level, one could generally perceive of the foreshadowing.

Though one can not tell the future, a storm was slowly brewing over and no one but the powerful beings knew of its existence.

Bai Li knows something was up and the strange vibes he felt were definitely not good at all.

His trip to the falls was definitely not gonna be a smooth one.
