Odin might become a big problem down the line for Anthony. He seems like a sociopathic grinding machine like you usually see in these kinds of fic. Thank god we have Anthony for our MC! Is it going to become a battle of lone strength and cunning versus numbers and teamwork when Odin inevitably meets the Colony? I’d say Odin will eventually grow stronger than Anthony, what with his natural head start as a third strata monster and his maxing of biomass before evolution. However Odin doesn’t seem to have figured out overloading his core gives extra evolution energy yet (due to his sense of self preservation that Anthony lacks), so that might even out the playing field. The thing with who they meet upon evolution is interesting. As someone else in the comments so aptly put it, Anthony got Gandalf while Odin got Sauron. I wonder if it’s a strata thing or a species thing, or even a mindset thing. I enjoyed the little side story featuring Odin but I’ll be glad to get back to the Colony and hopefully Anthony. The ants rule!
I wonder if each strata has a god. The first one has Gandalf and the third one has Sauron. And these "gods" are just trying to find their champions to free themselves and not the other ancients. Or maybe they like having their champions fight against each other for sport? Also Odin is going to be super powerful compare to Anthony, not counting pets, since he maxed his mutations and skills each time. Which should lead to exponential growth no?
I know its a bit late compared to the literal flood of comments, but for an assassin, he was pretty quick in abandonning his old ways. Even if he believes in his stealth, the all-out brawl made him abandon stealth quite rapidly, and he maximized might and offensive skills to the detriment of any other skill. He's basically a glass cannon, relying on a first hit advantage. Unless this is changed soon, he will die faced to any sapient army or trapping enemy he faces.
