A different perspective

Elise already knew Kei wouldn't stay true to his word. So when she saw that the Elders of his own sect announce their judgement, Elise hid on one of the nearby buildings were the disciples of the Burning Flame Sect were located.

As she predicted Kei didn't acknowledge Ragna's win and trapped the people in a sword formation. She took out a poisoned knife, and waited for an opportunity to strike at Kei. He even used a talisman to summon hundreds of swords.

She then saw Ragna point his blade at Kei, and was smiling. This was the first time she saw Ragna smile like that. It was a ferocious looking grin, it was the same way her father smiled before going into battle.

Elise knew her Big brother Ragna was faking his indifference and is always trying to act cool, to hide his embarrassment. Yet the Big brother Ragna in front of her eyes, seem like a different Ragna. This time he wasn't acting cool, he looked really excited. The rising battle intent Ragna was giving off, was the first time Elise felt it from Ragna. Usually Ragna was always calm and collected when fighting sometimes he even feels like he was just forced to fight, yet now it seems like he really wants to do battle with Kei.

What was the difference, what did Kei have that triggered Ragna's lust for battle. Eliese tried to think of a reason why her dear husband to be was acting this way. 'Was it because Kei is a worthy opponent? No that can't be it, this guy is despicable, and Big brother Ragna already fought a Nascent Soul expert before. Was it because Big brother Ragna was in a disadvantage?'

When Elise thought so, she was convinced that this was the case. Right now Ragna was inside the enemy's territory, and was caught up in a restrictive sword formation. Ragna must be thrilled that he was about to face such a difficult fight.

That was what Elise thought, but when she saw Ragna fight in the torrent of blades, moving slowly forward without his ferocious grin disappearing from his face. Ragna was showing swordsmanship different from his usual style.

The swordplay Ragna was displaying now, looked more refined than his usual moves. His movements were precise and flowed naturally like water flowing down a calm stream. His defense was almost impenetrable. While everyone was dazzled by Ragna's swordplay, Elise noticed someone moving silently towards Ragna.

When she saw this, she quickly got behind the shadow of the stalker. The one who slowly moved towards Ragna looked like one of Huifen's suitors. It seems like he too was able to notice Kei's foul play.

He was releasing a silent killing intent that was clearly directed at Ragna. "So he's like me." Elise said under her breath. She then took the would be assassins back, and held her poisoned knife at his back.

The man finally noticed Elise's presence, and was shocked "When did you..." When he felt the tip of the dagger on his back, he stopped himself from looking back. He then heard a sigh from behind him.

"I understand how you feel. Truly I do, losing something you love, and wanting to take it back by force. I really do understand how you feel." When the man heard the little girl's voice, he knew who it was. This was Elise the other woman of Ragna.

"If you understand, then why don't you persuade him to let Huifen go, so that you can have him all to yourself once more."

"Kukuku, that really is a nice suggestion." Hearing his suggestion being acknowledged by Elise, he felt like he could actually gain Huifen.

"Then how about-" before he could finish his sentence, Elise cut him off.

"Don't get the wrong idea. Your suggestion does indeed sound nice, but who said I want to do it."

"Why wont you?! Don't you want Ragna for yourself?!"

"Yes I do indeed want Big brother Ragna for myself, but I also want him to grow. If adding some more women to this party will help him grow as a man, then I'm all for that." When Huifen's former suitor heard Elise, he felt something was off.

How come such a little girl has such a mature way of thinking. Also the way she talks was as if, she already lived for a long time. Yet that was impossible, he was the young master of a mid tier clan and knew who Elise Astrakane was. He was sure the child of Roland the smiling demon, was a thirteen year old girl.

"So is that all you want to say?!" The man grew silent, he knew what was coming next. This was a child of that demon, so she herself must also be a demon.

"So you have said all you wish to say... Do not blame me for your death, you could only blame yourself for trying to take away my own toy." Elise then pierced the man's back with her poisonous dagger.

The poison was so potent, that it only took a few seconds before it took the man's life. Once she was done with the man, Elise continued to look at Ragna's battle.

As usual Ragna won without a scratch, on the other hand Kei was filled with swords sticking out of his body. When Elise was about to return to her previous position, she felt a strong Qi behind her. She looked behind her, while using her Qi to block any strike to her vitals, but once she turned she saw no one.

Still she was sure that someone powerful was watching, he's target was not her, then who was it? There are a lot of important people in the crowd here, anyone could be the target...
