Davis took a deep breath to calm himself down, realizing that there was no way to quickly arrive at a conclusion for this matter even though he didn't need to breathe as a soul. The only way to avoid these conflicting feelings was to get out of this place and not see Tina Roxley, but then he also recalled how he had yet to look at another matter.
Coincidentally, this matter was something that could be quickly concluded, unlike the one he was facing right now in an uphill battle against himself, perhaps on the losing end.
