Good Timing

On a cliff a little over a mile away Roman had just arrived after getting the civilians out of the fire. His face dropped when he sensed the energy level of the person stopping Orion from escaping.

"ORI!"

He transformed into a golden dragon scaled human with giant wings and flew like a bullet towards Ori's position.

Back on the docks, Orion was still stood in the air facing Akainu and the other marines on board.

Akainu suddenly made his move he fired a fist of lava towards Sabo whilst charging at Orion. Orion couldn't afford to hesitate as he summoned all the wind he could beneath his feet and shot towards Sabo to protect him from Akainu's attack. The wind generated from his movement successfully served to slow Akainu down slightly and speed him up. His speed was faster than Akainu imagined as he successfully managed to deflect the attack away from Sabo but Akainu was almost on top of him directly after.

He grabbed Sabo with his free hand and raised his sword to block Akainu's attack. Between having to protect Sabo in one hand and block the constant barrage of attacks of a man who was undoubtedly stronger than him. Orion was accumulating more and more injuries over the course of the battle.

He had been using his Heavenly Demon Qi to increase his strength this whole time, but he still couldn't close the gap between them.

Seeing Orion doing everything he could to keep him safe despite taking injury after injury greatly affected Sabo.

"Ori put me down, you should be able to survive if you leave alone! Just forget me!"

Hearing his cries for self-sacrifice annoyed Orion more than anything else.

"Would you shut up already and brace yourself!"

Just as Sabo was about to ask what he should be bracing for he felt himself going flying through the air until he was caught by someone else. When he looked up he saw the one who caught him was a dragon scaled man with wings.

"Roman?!"

Akainu stopped his attack on Orion when he saw who it was who arrived.

"Roman the Demonic Dragon, bounty of £300,000,000! You can leave your life behind as well!"

As he was about to fire into Roman, a blue crescent shaped sword light cut him off. Orion jumped away from Akainu and blocked Roman's exit.

Roman didn't look at Sabo in his arms once as he clenched his hands round the halberd in his hands as he saw the injuries Orion had suffered. Knowing what Roman was considering doing Orion shouted.

"TAKE SABO AND COME BACK WHEN HE'S SAFE!"

Roman didn't leave immediately still looking coldly at the man who had injured his brother.

"THAT'S AN ORDER AS YOUR CAPTAIN, NOW GO!"

As Roman was about to leave against his will, Akainu turned to the war ship as he ordered.

"Onigumo stop him from escaping and kill the boy, ignore Orion!"

As he said that a tall man appeared on the deck of the ship preparing to block Roman's path. The new arrival had a cold face and half closed eyes, wearing an ancient war helmet with a red plume hanging from the top, a grey double breasted suit under his marine jacket that had "Vice-Admiral" Printed on the back.

"Sor…"

Just as he was preparing to block Roman's exit, Orion prevented him from moving.

"Hahaha, c'mon marines you wanted to use the lives of others to deter me? Well let's see how you like it!

9 Steps Conquering Heaven:

1st Step…"

As he took the 1st step a gale force wind coated in sword intent erupted aiming at the Navy war ship.

When Akainu sensed the attack that was coming he turned to the Vice-Admiral and ordered.

"Protect the Celestial Dragon, leave the little bastard to me!"

Onigumo appeared by the Celestial Dragon who was on his knees terrified by the battle. 6 spider like arms each holding a saber shot out from his back. He used them to cut through the incoming wind.

Seeing his 1st step blocked, Orion laughed heartily.

"Hahaha protect the lizard?! If he protects the lizard who's going to protect him?!

2nd Step!"

A sharp wind 5 times as powerful as the last erupted slicing through dozens of marines on the ship. Onigumo had a few light cuts on his body but was still able to block the attack. Akainu on the other hand was able to easily block the attacks but as soon as he was about to counter the next step came.

"3rd Step!"

When the 3rd wave came, over 50 marines on board lost their lives and the injuries Onigumo suffered were becoming worse. If he was just defending the attacks normally he would've been able to accomplish his task easily but protecting someone who's essentially defenceless was too difficult whilst protecting himself.

It wasn't just the marines affected by the attack, even the civilians were being pushed around by the wind. Normally Ori would never choose to do large area attacks that would affect the civilians but right now he couldn't afford to hold back.

Even though the wind that attacked them was just residual winds that weren't coated in sword intent, it still did a fair bit of damage. But he took comfort in the fact that these people were the type of trash that would burn down the area that the poor lived just to impress the Celestial Dragons.

Akainu looked at the civilians that were being thrown around in the wind before looking back at Orion.

"Trust a piece of trash pirate to attack the defenceless civilians!"

"Are you really that retarded? You were the one who blocked their escape with your lava! Also, I'm a pirate not a hero, protecting them is your job. If you want trash like them who're willing to sacrifice the lives of the poor to impress a lizard to be affected by our fight, who am I to question you Mr. Admiral!"

Orion's words were sharp and direct, successfully angering the red suited Admiral. Although these attacks weren't strong enough to actually injure Akainu, they were enough to stop him from advancing to Orion.

"Oii scarlet mutt… If you don't do something soon another lizard might their little lives to me!

4th step!"

The 4th step caused the death of over 100 marines, Onigumo was cut all over and was panting heavily but the most shocking part was that even under Onigumo's protection, the world noble still ended up losing an arm under that last wave.

But Akainu didn't seem to notice. Hearing him making fun of his name pushed Akainu to breaking point!

"What did you call me?!"

Orion laughed mockingly as he said indifferently.

"What scarlet mutt? That's what you are aren't you? A guard dog of the lizards in Mary Geoise! Well you're not exactly doing a great job guarding your owner right now, but I can tell you're trying your very best… Sort of…

5th…"

Before he could get the 5th step off Akainu interrupted him with an attack of his own.

"GREAT ERUPTION!"

He shot a giant lava fist towards Orion forcing him to stop before he could take the next step. He then turned to the few remaining marines and ordered them to leave.

But after the hell he was put through whilst protecting Sabo how could he just allow them to leave so easily. He raised his sword above his head and as he took a step forward he slashed forth.

"Heaven Sundering!"

A giant navy blue crescent shaped sword light that seemed like it was made to cut open the gate to heaven shot towards the war ship aiming to sink it cleave it in two.

Akainu suddenly appeared in front of the sword wave. His hands had turned into black lava as he punched out in the direction of the sword wave.

"HELL HOUND!"

A giant black dog's head made of lava intercepted the sword wave cancelling each other out in the process.

"Since you want to court death, I'll help you on your way!

Soru!"

As he said that he vanished from his original position appearing just in front of Orion. As he saw the black lava fist approaching his face Orion's eyes shrunk.

[Quite quick!]

He merged with the wind to disappear from his previous position appearing in the air above him charging down towards him.

He chopped towards Akainu but as he did his sword seemed to vanish with the wind.

"Vanishing Wind Edge!"

Akainu didn't seem phased by the disappearance of his sword. He calmly raised his open palm and coldly said.

"Volcanic Eruption!"

Black balls of lava shot out of his hand firing into Orion.

"Ugh!"

Orion didn't get to finish his attack before he was sent flying landing on the ground of the dock!

Akainu didn't give him a second to steady himself darting towards Ori as fast as he could. As Orion got to his knees Akainu was already upon him. Just as Ori braced himself for Akainu's attack he saw A golden light that seemed to burn the air.

"Halberd of the Setting Sun!"

The burning golden light clashed with Akainu's body sending him 20 meters back before being cancelled out. When Akainu steadied himself he looked at the person who just attacked him in complete shock, then he looked down at his shoulder where a small burn could be seen.

[I… Was burnt?!]

Whilst Akainu was still getting over his shock, Orion let out a relieved smile as he turned to see the golden dragon scaled man that had just arrived.

"You took your time!"
