88 Missed Call

*sigh*

Mia was staring at her phone, it was already late but the person she was waiting for did not pick up or replied to her messages.

*sigh*

She gave another sigh, she was holding her phone with two hands while laying down on her bed.

She was already tired from waiting as she tossed and turned in her bed. It happened a couple of hours ago when Stephanie send her a couple of messages asking if William was with her.

At first, she thought there was nothing to be worried about, but once she told Stephanie that she hasn't seen nor heard from her brother, Stephanie instantly called her. The urgency in her tone could be felt from her end. She knew something was wrong.

Mia's thoughts ran wild when she heard Stephanie's urgency. She thought of the worst possible outcome, which was an accident.

"William must have been in an accident."

She started to get nervous as her thoughts ran wild, but the person on the other side was already panicking, she could not say her inner thoughts, less Stephanie suffers from a nervous breakdown.

Mia gathered her thoughts to think of the best way to deal with the situation. She calmed herself as she organized the next words she would utter.

"He must be really busy for not answering your calls. You don't have to worry much as he would surely contact us once he can. I'll call you if that happens." Mia tried her best to assure Stephanie that nothing was wrong.

It took a while but Stephanie was able to calm down after speaking with Mia.

"Although I said that… I am worried myself." She said to no one in particular as Mia was alone in her room.

She picked up her phone once more looking at the screen, yet nothing. No notifications or prompts were to be found.

*sigh*

She gave another sigh, she could not count the times she sighed today. Actually, she did not notice herself that she was sighing. It seems today's events made her uneasy. After her talk with Stephanie, she checked all the news stations looking for a clue if William was really in an accident.

Not finding anything related to William, she moved to social media and any platforms that might discuss famous people. She knew that gossipers might have some sort of clue or article that might be spreading, but it was to no avail. There was not even a single article related to William being in an accident or any event in particular.

Although that was the case, she felt more relieved finding out that William was not in the news. Her mind was in a mess while she was at work as she could not focus. All she did was browse her phone the whole time. She was glad that there were not many customers today as it was the weekday.

That's how Mia described her whole day.

It was a mess.

Her head was in a daze while waiting for her phone to ring.

She was now laying on the bed feeling tired.

She was mentally tired.

She felt her emotions were experiencing a roller coaster ride from the sudden ups and down.

She was happily looking at the pictures from their date when Stephanie suddenly called her phone.

*sigh*

She gave out another sigh. Her mind was truly in a mess. Her thoughts were starting to go on repeat as she kept repeating in her head what happened.

"Ugh"

She suddenly sat up and started to hit her pillow.

"Stupid William where are you?"

She could not hold in her emotions anymore.

She was feeling frustrated about not getting any news from William.

It took a couple of minutes of pounding on the bed, she was now tired.

"Hah hah hah"

Her haggard breath was starting to calm down. She slumped her body back to the bed as she continued staring at her ceiling.

Once again she grabbed her phone and swiped on the screen to check if her screen might be hiding the notification from her. She knows that was impossible but she just could not help herself from doubting the phone instead of doubting William.

"Just what is going on with you?"

There was something that was bothering her.

What exactly went wrong?

What happened?

William was not the type of person to make her sister worry. When they were young, William would say things like, "My sister nags too much." But in the end he would always listen to Stephanie to not make her worry.

She could understand if William did not have the time to call her, but why did he not call Stephanie?
