Ymir Cargo, Mining and Manufacturing Capital Ship Hybrid Size: 3- It has lots of hexagon, circular and honeycomb compartments capable of holding anything the passenger needs. Productivity: 3 - Ship have multiple amusement areas (such as a terrium island of some sort and others) for its crew and passenger to not get bored, it can also dock an asteroid in small size than the ship itself for ease in mining. Has factory for mechs and 3rd class ships small sizes. It is a civilian ship design for expedition on unknown space for a longer period of time. The ship can take a lot of beating from 2nd class ship and 3rd class ship but is easily defeated by a first class ship. It is powered by a Luminar tech reactor for power. It has smooth surfaces and small crevices for the quantum nodes. It has small energy shield covered entry gates for mech launching and retreating convenience, which houses 200 mechs to 300 mechs. Most of the space is for robot miner mechs and ships to dock and the manufacturing park. The ship is colored as dark to have a natural camouflage with the space. It has a flexible exotics processing compartments that can process any exotics known to man but it can also be upgraded to process anything new or rare. It is named after Ymir because the ship can birth a mechs sort of Titans.

ANNOUNCEMENT: CAPITAL SHIP DESIGN CONTEST! The Mech Touch is over 2500 chapters long, and that means the start of another contest! This contest centers around the capital starships that will form an integral part of the Larkinson Clan's expeditionary fleet. STARSHIP DESIGN RULES Suggest any ORIGINAL capital ship of at least 1 km long to be added to the fleet mentioned above (no ripoffs from other books or shows)! You can suggest any large starship to be added to the story as long as they sound plausible. Mining ship, ark ship, botanical ship, the choice is yours! The only restriction is that it cannot be armed with weapons, so no warships! The other restriction is that you must allocate the strengths of your capital ship according to a point system. You have 10 POINTS in total which you can add to the following criteria: -Size (?/10) -Defense (?/10) -Mobility (?/10) -Productivity (?/10) Here is a short example: Mining Mothership -Size: 5 - Has enough space for mining shuttles, cargo space and processing facilities. -Defense: 0 - This ship should never be exposed to combat. -Mobility: 1 - This ship is very slow. -Productivity 4 - This ship can survey asteroids and can process ore at a moderate scale. This civilian vessel is meant to add powerful mining capabilities to the Larkinson fleet. It can deploy a swarm of mining shuttles or drones and process the ore they bring back. The ore processing machines excel at processing large quantities of normal second-class materials but cannot process extremely hard or abnormal materials. The anchor The Nyxian Gap has show that the clan can easily be put in a precarious situation thanks to spacial anomalies or other weird phenomena. This ship aims to help protect the fleet from anomalies while still having the defensive capabilities to help out in more common fights. Size: 2 Needs some space for all that equipment. Defence: 6 Normal fights: Fleetsize forcefields for normal fights, powerful ECM systems to deal with weapons Anomalies: Dimension smoothers from chapter 282, other such anomaly busting equipment Spiritual: The ship also contains a "chapel" with statues of Qilaxo, Lufa and the superior mother, who are secretly hooked into the ship. Maybe boosting them with artifacts made of eternal metal and B-stones allowing for strong anti-anomaly powers. Speed: 1, no need to go fast, just stay in the middle of the fleet. Production: 1 Emergency Fabricators/Well stocked store room for important parts. The purpose of the ship is to keep the fleet safe. With equipment to, help protect others during q firefight, suppress or at least help to mitigate anomalies and finally having the secret spiritual help from the three design spirits

Arena/Biome simulation Ship Size: 5/10 - Big ship, many compartments. Defense: 2/10 - Some defence, especially internally. Mobility: 1/10 - Slow, just enough to keep up with the main fleet. Productivity: 2/10 - Has some R&D and basic mech facilities. A large capital sized ship with many different sectioned off compartments simulating different biomes. Examples include cities, forests, deserts, oceans, etc. Uses of the ship: -In-house environments for testing non-space mechs, e.g. landbound, aerial, or even underwater mechs. Can also be used for training. -Mech colosseum fights. -Smaller or more peaceful areas where special exobeasts or exoplants that require specialized or larger environments can be kept. Or if there isn't any room for this, then just to give some exobeasts a chance to stretch their legs every now and then whenever there's an area not currently hosting a mech fight. Why? -Ves is wanting to design more and more mechs, even wanting to expand the mech design department again. Not all of them are going to be space mechs, and if he's going to be a wandering space clan then it would be helpful to have environments on hand to test them since he won't always have convenient planets nearby. -Raella and whatshisface still need a place for their mech fighting league. This would spice things up a bit beyond a plain boring arena, and would give more uses to fill up the time in between mech tests. -Any leftover time slots can be used for practice by other Mech Pilots using non-space models. -If we're going to be simulating multiple environments anyway, I'm sure some of the biological research being done by Ranya could also use it. -I dunno, if really nobody else is using it for anything violent at the time, maybe somebody could go for a walk in a living forest with a simulated sky instead of these dull dreary ships all the time.

Fenrir Wolf Class Battle Carrier -Size 4 -Has enough space to fit in 500 second class light mechs or 350 second class medium mechs. -Defense 2 -has good enough defense to complete multiple raiding runs and to be on the frontline. -Mobility 4 -Highly mobile ship for any expiditions. -Producitivity 0 -Does not have the facilities to service and repair itself and its mechs. -Charm 4 -Fenrir is a Jet Black Carrier. Its purpose is to slip past the enemy territories without being seen. It gives a feeling of dread. This Battle Carrier is meant to to add a lot of battle leverage to the Larkinson Fleet. It is highly mobile and it has 2 Capital Class FTL Drives. It has above average second class capable defense to complete multiple scout and raiding expiditions on enemy territory. It has multiple shields and a few long ranged sensor arrays. It can drop skirmisher mechs at the flank of any enemy because Fenrir excels at hit and run tactics. The downside of this ship is that it needs to be repaired and serviced by other ships. It doesn't have any production nor repair & maintenance facilities for itself and its mechs.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my pleasure to submit my 3rd submission for Exlor’s 3rd design contest, covering a second class capital ship. Designed from the grounds up to be B.E.S.T. Which stands for: 1. Bloody 2. Evil 3. Sadistic 4. Terrifying My capital ship submission shall be a military academy capital ship, christened ‘Lady Bathory’, sponsored and manufactured in part by the Hexer hegemony shipyards in collaboration with the Larkinson clan’s ‘Black Cats’. Primarily designed for educational and medical purpose, as well as secondarily designed for holding and processing prisoners, in addition to functioning as a system wide media hub station. Let us go more into the specific and design scoring of the capital ship. Shall we? Primary purposes of the ‘Lady Bathory’ are as a hospital and military school on the go, equipped with second class Hexer equipments and technology, each scored two points in the design score, totalling 4 points in productivity. Hospital function will be lead by Ranya, while the academy will be lead by one of the Larkinson headmaster. The hospital will be healing the sick and injured and the academy will be teaching mech pilots and marines, as well as performing clan recruitment tests. Secondary purposes of the ‘Lady Bathory’ are as a prison and a media hub station which can reach system wide, equipped with third class Sentinel equipments and technology, each scored half point in design score, totalling 1 point in productivity. The prison will hold prisoners as well as the facility to interrogate, managed by the Black Cats as well as special forces. The media hub station shall be used to promote new mech design product and can be used to call for assistance in an emergency. Total productivity are 5, that is half of the total allocated design requirement. This is a utility heavy design, contrary to a factory capital ships. People are ‘Lady Bathory’ main product and focus. Next is the size, which will be allocated 3 out of 10, the ship will be the standard size as expected of a standard second class capital ship. Shaped as a Hexagon, with the thruster occupying 2 sides at the rear, 2 hangar bays at the port and starboard side respectively, and reinforced armor at the 2 sides of the prow. 8 out of 10 allocated design points are allocated. We will allocate 1 point each to defence and mobility, unfortunate but as a utility design, defence and mobility would have to be prioritised last. 1 point of defence would cover the bunkers, where the cat’s paw can be stationed, the ship have no shield system as the budget doesn’t allow it. 1 point of mobility means it is the slowest among the capital ship design, but at least it is mobile and can follow the fleet. 90% of the time, it would be stationary beside a planet and let the clan form recruitment and transmit clan propaganda planetside. Well, that’s it for my capital ship design. In summary the ship design allocation are: 1. Size (3/10) 2. Defence (1/10) 3. Mobility (1/10) 4. There is a clear separation between the general purpose processing plants and the area dedicated to the clan tombs the tomb halls are divided in a dungeon like fashion in order to portray the idea of trials for the youngsters of the clan

‘Lady Bathory’ Revised Ver.3 A compact and short format of this entry is also entered in Discord for ease of judgement, this version is the full and unedited version. Terrifying My capital ship submission shall be a Cursed Biohazard R&D capital ship, christened ‘Lady Bathory’. Ranya has heard of a huge scandal and a huge opportunity from back home, from the friends who suddenly discover that Ranya is too successful to be treated as a persona non grata in their social network. Ranya has heard of a cheap hexer capital ship for sale from her so-called friends, called ‘Lady Bathory’ as it is haunted, but what interested her most of all is the fact that the capital ship is full of carnivorous exo-plant and even some man-eater. Exo-beasts as big as a T-rex can also be reared within the environment, provided they can survive the carnivorous and man-eater exo-plants. Note:I got too into writing the backstory of the Hexer in question above, I have separated the backstory and posted it earlier in another comment below this comment. You can read further if you care about the history of this submission. Total productivity is 5, that is half of the total allocated design requirement. This is a utility heavy design, contrary to factory capital ships. People are ‘Lady Bathory’ main focus and powerful exo-plants are its products. Some exo-plants are weapon grade, increasing the option and versatility of the Larkinson Marines in ship assault combat. Other functions such as utility and extension of life could also be available in the future after research. Bioweapons research can also be a subject of research in the future. The mansion at the centre of the capital ship has been converted into a Research and Development Laboratory, surrounded by dark forests filled with carnivorous and man-eater exo-plants. The ship can control its interior weather biome to cultivate and take care of the exo-plants inside the capital ship, the laboratory is meant to take care and process the exo-plants being cultivated from its surrounding, as well as grafts future exo-plants specimens to living humans. Ideally, the immediate goal of this laboratory will be so that larkinson clan infantry can be faster, tougher, stronger and are able to temporarily stave off death even after fatal damage due to the grafting of compatible exo-plants which will bond to their organs and support overall life functions. Extension of life through exo-plant is still the ultimate end-goal of this research facility, but if there is an urgent need for a specific function from the Larkinson clan, then that shall be the priority of this research facility. Next is the size, which will be allocated 3 out of 10, the ship will be the standard size as expected of a standard second class capital ship. Capital Ship submission (quick v2 edit before Exlor can see it :P) Diligent Ovenbird – Daedalus-Class Type-C FRAU (Fleet Repair and Upgrade ship) - Size: 4 – Contrary to what its leviathanic size might suggest, this capital ship’s space is dedicated 60% to it’s internal drydock, 10% to thrusters and 15% to the Capital Ship Servicing Structure, leaving a measly 15% for crew quarters, bridge, and a skeletal Mech detachment for self-defense. - Defense: 0 – As a service ship, the Ovenbird is not meant to be near the frontline. With 75% of the ship dedicated to fit the ships it services, it also lacks the structural integrity to endure more than a couple of hits. - Mobility: 1 – While it dedicates 1/10 of it’s space to thrusters, most of them are distributed evenly along it’s hull to allow for precise adjustments when servicing capital ships. - Productivity: 5 – This vessel is capable of repairing or upgrading up to: One combat carrier OR one logistics ship OR four Frigate-class ships OR six Corvette-class ships at a time on it’s internal drydock. When enough space is available, it is also capable of producing up to a Frigate-class ship (taking the entire drydock capacity) or Corvette-class ship (taking 50% of the drydock capacity). Further upgrades to the production equipment might be able to allow for a better building capacity. Besides this, one quarter of the ship’s hull on the left side is taken by a hemispherical indentation used to dock orthogonally to capital ships in order to service them in space with minimal effort. No spacefaring clan’s fleet is complete without the means to repair and update their vessels. The Daedalus class ships in their multiple configurations are some of the most iconic ships of their class. The different models in the class reference the shape of the cross section of their service bays. The Type-C provides the means to simultaneously service both a capital vessel and smaller members of the fleet in an efficient and balanced way. While the service speed of capital ships falls short of its U-, K- and H- brethren, it is the most enclosed and rugged of all the ships in the Daedalus-Class, providing protection for the smaller vessels in its drydock and less exposed internals. This makes it a popular choice for Fleets heading for high conflict zones. The diligent ovenbird is a ship meant to keep the Larkinson Clan’s Fleet in fighting shape. Its service capabilities, up to capacity, provide 80 to 90% of the efficiency and effectiveness of the dedicated drydock of a space station. When preparing to service a capital ship, it presents a puzzling profile. With its hemispherical CSSS exposing some of the ship’s internals to the void of space, it looks more like the unfortunate remains of a victim of the age of conquest than the fully capable maintenance ship it is. To both present a sleeker profile and to help structural integrity, a Van-style sliding hull panel covers this area when not in use, giving it a much more appealing fat cigar look. The ovenbird can also double as a transport ship, using its internal drydock to carry vessels with disabled or no FTL capabilities. And as a manufacturing complex it can easily build investigation or scouting ships when needed. The upgrade path for the Ovenbird is quite straightforward. Upgrading the CSSS by itself is a great choice to improve the time to service a capital vessel, but paired with an improved drydock capable of building Tug-ships to act as a mobile scaffolding enables it to build capital ships from scratch, given that the fleet stays stationary for the months necessary for such an operation. The CSSS door can also be upgraded to be a temporary hangar for extra small vessels when closed, making into a hybrid mothership.

Designed with comfort and ease of use in mind this ship is built to look like a bustling city inside with special compartments emulating beaches and quaint provincial Villages built to relax and destress it's passengers with beautiful scenery and make them forget the deep dark emptiness of space as they travel to their new home. The ship is big enough to house alot of civilians and can house an entire city inside and still have space for a small beach and resort and is modifiable enough to add extra scenery in exchange for a decrease in cargo space or remove some habitable space for better cargo capacity. The owner can also choose to increase its size and add more space in exchange in decrease in it's overall speed. The ship although not designed to be a frontline combat ship has its hull strengthened and reinforced by state of the art exotic armor formula to ensure the safety of it's passengers even when they get hit by stray mech shots. The ship is equipped with an Twin Octajet Thruster system making it mobile enough that it's not a slow lumbering Giant we all know time is money and less time in traveling to your new home the quicker you can build your new paradise. The ship is built with some light Terra-forming capabilities not enough to turn an inhospitable planet hospitable but enough to make an alien planet start having Terran like flora and fauna and even modify some inconvenient aspects of a planet.

Name: Mobile Arena Type: Lego/ Origami Ship Purpose: Mobile Coluseum/ Training Ground/ secretly Kamikaze bomb Under the arduous proposal of Vincent and his girlfriend, they squeezed some budget for this whimsical ship's creation. Along with the establishment of the Living Star Club, Ves judge the many pros and cons on the creation of the ship and reluctantly agreed to its creation. Thus, a ship transforming into a gladiator-esque, Real Steel arena is made. Size: 1 (Its small due to its collapsible form. Basically has a mobile form and the coliseum form. A high tech origami ship of sorts.) Defence: 1 (It very fragile due to its complications but easily rebuilt due to its Lego-like property. Ves has not much care for it; disposable for all he cares because of its connection to his pesky adopted relative.) Mobility: 3 (A bit agile but this might be a gamechanger and unpredictable for future battles. Maybe a Kamikaze ship that could nuclear bomb a warship? Who knows?) Productivity: 5 (No matter how whimsical it is. It is a real innovation. It houses Mech Tournaments that can train mech pilots. Which means it could be broadcasted to the galaxy and maybe insert advertisements for extra money. It can also show the glory of LMC mechs to attract customers. It can be a training ground of sorts for the Larkinson academy. It secretly records real time data that could prove useful for Ves' research.) Drawback: It isn't mobile in its Coluseum form, making it a high-profile target.

Fleet Carrier/ Fortress ship (Gorgoneion, The Great Sentinel Wall) Size:2, (3 in the wall form) Defense:3, (4 in the wall form) Mobility:2, (0 in the wall form) Productivity:3 (Wall form, relaxation/aggression bombs, glow-enhanced auditory and visual illusions, heavy interference) MAIN POINTS: -Wall Form filled with bunker mechs -Mosaic with glow-based Medusa-like abilities : imaginary sounds, exploding head syndrome. ( Medusa in Greek: guardian, protectress) -Minefield with special bombs -Heavy interference DESCRIPTION: The Gorgoneion (name of the historical Athena’s shield made with Medusa’s head) is the fleet carrier and mobile headquarters of the Living Sentinels carrying a lot of space for housing the mechs, room for conferences, simple repair facilities, etc. The defining feature of this ship is its abilities of breaking in two and forming a wall (kinda like a modular ship), filled with bunker mechs, increasing its size by sacrificing mobility, but it does it with the intent of staying put and acting like a shield for the fleet behind; the glow-enhanced auditory and visual illusions, the special minefield, and the heavy interference it generates. The ship has in its normal form and in its wall form (although with lot more grandeur and refinement on the latter) a moving mosaic(kinda like a gif) in the front depicting a wall of giant grey knight mechs, made out of the names of the Living Sentinels, banging their shield rhythmically and a beautiful grey angel above the soldiers with a hair of green snakes; in the back, depictions of green civilians, made out of the names of the normal people of the fleet, huddling and protecting themselves at the back of the giant mechs in the front. (theme colors of the Sentinels) Since there is no sound in space, Why not create imaginary sounds enhanced by the glows? The knight mechs banging their shields with the help of glows that affect the senses create, in the minds of the enemies who see It, auditory illusions of loud bangs and optical illusions of bright flashes, sometimes accompanied by sensations of heat (like the exploding head syndrome), disorienting them, and making it harder to aim. The mosaic is accompanied with heavy interference to make it even harder to aim.
