5 4. Nation building

In stories that usually have countries/kingdoms/empires, there would be many things to look out for. Is the nation a dictatorship, a democracy, etc. Now the next important thing would be its stand ( I don't mean Jojo) anyway, is the nation antagonistic to the mc or is friendly to mc and friends. As the story progress, the stand of the nation may change from friendly to antagonistic or vice versa.

Another thing people need to look out for is whether the story will use the same nation throughout the story or will they advance to a higher stage with bigger nations. This can usually be easily spotted by the strength of the nation, if there are end boss level characters in the story then obviously the nation would pop out throughout the story however, if the strongest in the kingdom is as strong as mid bosses then they will either be a stepping stone for the mc or will be assimilated into the mc's party with key characters from that nation popping out now and then.

Let's get into different nation, if it is a dictatorship(let's assume it just means one person above all subjects), you can usually tell how the nation would end up, under mc or against mc as no ruler would willingly serve under some random person. Anyway, the ruler's attitude can also be based on whether they were passed the position onto them or if the fought for the crown. A new king would usually be the two extremes or could even be bi-polar in their ruling. They could rule with an iron fist or be too soft on their subjects due to inexperience. They would learn to be a better ruler throughout the story or will be forced to learn through violence of the mc. A ruler that was passed the role of King would usually be easier to spot if they would stay around longer or would their rulership be cut short. This can be told through their plotting against the mc or their attitude towards the mc. As can be seen by most stories they won't end well.

Well, democracy could also go well or badly. If it is a democracy, the whole council overseeing cases on the mc won't be united. Either the mc found dirt on someone or the mc killed someone's grandson, somebody would be extremely antagonistic towards the mc. This would person would stop at nothing to mess with the mc, like stopping resources or disagreeing with whatever the mc says whether it would help the nation or not. This would lead to two outcomes. One, the MC kicks this person out and takes his place or his representive takes his place. Two, the whole council agrees with what that antagonistic person says and gets annihilated. This is the two common types of nation that the mc would meet.

Well the mc's nation would usually be covered by the mc's halo anyway (plot armour).

Cons

-all smart people become stupid

-will always face many problems

Pros

- dumb people become smart

-all problems would be solved

-It's the bloody MC'S nation what could go wrong(unless, it's just temporary and is there just to be destroyed to piss of the mc enough that he levels up and destroys the thing that destroyed his nation)
