Sam waltzed into her office, only to find Elle there placing files on her desk. Her mobile pressed against her ear, and she was giggling, and a smile was evident on her unassuming face.

It didn't take a genius to figure out Elle was talking to her secret boyfriend, flirtatiously laughing at whatever he had said on the other line.

The redhead cracked a smile herself; it was the first relaxed smile she had since the morning she realized she was in love with her friend/lover a few days ago. That should have been good news, wasn't it? He had been clear to her after all about his feelings towards her, about him fancying her. 

But that was her main problem now. 

He 'fancied' her. 

In contrast, she was 'in love' with him.

They are both in a completely different realm of emotions, she realized. Something that had kept her up the past few nights.
