25 How to Scare Someone (1)

Weekends are already here. Eighty-eight days left before I have to find the reincarnated prince and make him fall in love with me. I still haven't discovered the event that will lead me to enter a certain man's house, tend him while he's sick, and accidentally pulling his pants down partially to be able for me to see his birthmark.

And at this point, where I should be enjoying my weekends, I would have to spend my whole day at the company to brainstorm about where and what places we would be visiting and what quotes we will be using for the exhibit.

I did my makeup to look presentable. I wore a white long-sleeved blouse and dark brown dress slacks.

Yes. I sit inside the meeting room, waiting for Mr. Kim Seungwoo. That's right, and I am still waiting for him to arrive. We suggested doing an OT for today to plan for everything and start doing them on Monday. Time check, it's already 9:15 in the morning, but he is still not here.

Not anyone. Not a single soul is seen here in the 5th floor's design and editing department. Or at least when I entered the room earlier, I didn't see anyone. The clock seemed to tick very slow as I am getting impatient, waiting for Seungwoo to arrive. I mean, he was the one who suggested this in the first place, and he has the nerve to show up late?

Kim Seungwoo: I am in the basement already. Are you in the meeting room already?

Me: Yes, please come here fast. I feel scared here alone.

Kim Seungwoo: There are rumored ghosts there in the meeting room, you know?

Hm. Is that so?

An idea came to my mind. I can imagine how scared he will become if I succeed in this! I turned my phone to silent mode and scanned the room, and everything was perfect! I turned the aircon on using the small remote and turned off the lights around the room. I positioned myself behind the door and stood there like a log. I turned my phone's brightness to the lowest and turned on the blue light filter.

This Kim Seungwoo must be trying to scare me. Sorry, I am a mermaid, so things like ghosts, demons, devils, goblins, werewolves, vampires, or whatever there are in this world are not going to be unfamiliar or scary for me. It's even scarier for me to disappear and turn into a foam in this life.

I heard the door bang as I received a text message from Seungwoo.

Kim Seungwoo: No one is here, I think. Are you sure you are here already?

Of course, I didn't answer his text message. After a few minutes, he decided to call. The lights turned on as I felt his presence inside the room.

"The AC is on, but the lights are off. Does that must mean she was here earlier but for some reason, she left?" He mumbled. "Li Suji, are you here?"

Silence filled the room. He went to turn the AC off manually, but I turned it on again. I held my laugh as he was confused with what was happening. He tried to turn it off again, but I turned it on again the moment he did. I used the remote to turn off the lights in the meeting room and slammed the door.

The room was pitch dark, and the hissing noise that the aircon produces was the only sound you can hear inside the room. I can certainly imagine Seungwoo being scared. I gathered all of my hair to the front and started to walk towards Seungwoo. It was dark, and I can only see his tall figure from afar.

"Who are you?" He asked as he turned his phone on and aimed it towards me. "This is not a funny game! I am warning you!"

Terror overtook his face as he turned paler than ever, "Li Suji, is that you?"

With my long wavy hair in front of me, I stood right in front of him. I can feel him exhaling heavily as he focused his gaze on me and parted my hair sideways. He was still as handsome as ever, even though he was scared. I can vaguely see his piercing, and he was wearing a dark brown coat and brown turtle neck sweater, and light brown casual pants. He tilted his head to focus on what was in front of him. With a laugh, I gave him the most playful smile.

"I almost fainted due to shock!" He yelled at me, "Li Suji, y-you!"

"This is my revenge for you!" I stuck out my tongue like a kid and started to run towards the door. "It could have been better if you fainted!"

I tried to open the door, but I can't since Seungwoo must have locked the door. "I can't open the door,"

"You must be kidding me. You are trying to prank me again." He said as he went over the doorknob and tried to open it. "Oh? I can't open it."

"I told ya,"

"Did you do this on purpose?" He grimaced as he took the remote from me. "Let's turn the light on first, okay?"

He turned it on, but it will turn off after a few seconds. He turned the lights on, but it turned off again after a few seconds. It went on for several attempts until Seungwoo snapped.

"You must have programmed the remote to turn off right automatically?" He accused me, "Let's stop pranking each other now, please?"

"No, I didn't do anything. You have the remote now, do you?" I stared at him as the lights flickered. "I am a copywriter and an editor. I don't know how to program things. When I pranked you, I turned the lights off manually using that remote."

"Is that so?" His face suddenly turned pale, "Then why are the lights still flickering?"

My face turned blank as I tried to process the whole thing. The remote control was already in Seungwoo's hands, and even though he wasn't doing anything with it, the lights keep on turning on and off.

What on earth is happening here?
