15 Entrance Exam pt. III

As the golden key appeared in my hand I quickly slipped it into my pocket. It's not that I mind showing my powers in public, but I don't want to just broadcast to everyone how my power works. There was no doubt in my mind that at least a few of the students here are spies for villains or some shady organizations. Speaking of organizations gave me an idea that made me stop in my tracks. Emo girl who I now know is called Reiko Yanagi bumped into me as I stopped.

"Are you okay Okkotsu? What's wrong?"

She asked with a concerned tilt of her head. Even as I distractedly announced I was okay. I shot a sidelong glance at her and could tell that she didn't believe my words. She probably thought I was nervous about the exam or something, but I had actually thought of an interesting idea. I wanted to create my own group, organization, gang, or whatever you want to call it. I would fill my secret/underground organization with like-minded individuals. I don't know exactly what would be the purpose of this organization, but I thought it would be an interesting project.

I was still lost in thought when I heard the announcements to go and how in the real world there is no countdown. I could have used my superhuman abilities gained from strengthing myself with Advanced Adaptation over many years, but instead, I decided not to draw too much attention to myself in the short term. Don't be mistaken, I would completely violate this test, but I would need to withdraw my four Hatsu first.

I stayed in the middle of the crowd until we got close to a building where I sped forward and entered the building. As soon as I was alone I withdrew the key and raised it in front of me. With a quick turn, a 1-meter cubed box of air turned golden and started to emit soft golden light. I hurriedly announced the names of Hatsu I wanted to remove from the bank.

"Withdraw Peek-a-boo, Advent of the World Tree, War, and Pale Moon Rose."

As soon as I felt the four Hatsu take root in my body I condensed half of my aura into my hand. As I held the highly condensed ball of aura in my hand I rushed toward the exit of the building. When I finally emerged back onto the street I could already see the other participants spreading out and beginning to fight the first of the robots. With the aura ball complete I continued to run and clapped my hands together. I felt the ball of aura collapse between my hands and felt the massive amount of energy it was about to release. Instead of channeling this aura into an attack I simply the energy created by crushing the aura ball to fuel my next action.

"(Create Shardblade)"

I called out softly, using War to turn the massive amount of aura into a shardblade. I waited as ten heartbeats passed and a sword gently fell into my hands, the hilt still damp from the mists. I looked down at the long black blade with blood-red veins visible just beneath the dark surface of the blade. The entire sword seemed to be wrought from obsidian and was serrated along both of its edges. It was 5 feet (152 cm) from tip to hilt, it was heavy but not overbearingly so. I would have to be careful swinging it with other people around, even if the one I created didn't cut through the soul of its victims, but for this challenge, it would be the perfect weapon.

Next, I used Peek-a-Boo to quickly teleport to the top of the tallest building in the area. I felt the pull of space as my left eye sucked up the rest of my body and sit it out atop the building a moment later. The test had only started about 20~30 seconds ago so I knew I was perfectly fine on time, but I didn't care about the time or the test anymore. My eyes quickly snapped to the nearest three-point robot and locked on. The robot was on a nearby street down below accompanied by four one-point robots.

I was above and behind the three-pointer in a split second. It didn't even have time time to react as my blade sang and bisected the robot at the waist, cutting through metal as easily as a 10,000-degree knife through butter. I watched as the robot fell into two pieces, a manic grin on my face. Normally I wouldn't call myself a battle maniac, but it just felt too good to let loose once in a while. As I laughed the top half of the robot sent a punch my way, surprising me, but not enough for it to even come close to hitting me. I ducked under the blow and grabbed the corner of the robot's head, my fingers digging deep into the metal and wires.

"(Wood Style: Impaling Stakes)"

Beneath my hands, a hardened wooden stake grew. It quickly grew through the robot's head and hit the concrete beneath the robot. As soon as the stake broke through the ground all seemed to go still. The smaller robots began to advance until the ground beneath their feet shattered. Dozens of massive wooden stakes rose from the earth, shredding the robots and raising their metallic corpses high in the sky. Oil leaked from their destroyed husks just like blood would from a human.

I felt for my aura reserve and smiled. I had burned through a decent chunk of aura, but keeping my body encased in aura and using my Hatsus hadn't drained me too much. I would have to cut down on my aura use during the rest of the test, however. I looked down at the sword in my hand and grinned. All I really need to dominate this test anyway was my sword and the ability to teleport short distances anyway.

After that, I disappeared, off to slay the next robot.
