9 Study Group?

Aomine: "I did it haha!"

After hundreds of strokes, inks spilled, and papers used. He could finally write his own name in Kanji with his eyes closed.

He didn't just practiced writing his name, but also researched calligraphy online to make his handwriting look good. After hours of studying and practice, he basically mastered his handwriting than his previous unreadable scribbles that are hard to read.

He could do it in many fonts may it be Italicized, Bold, Times New Roman, Calibri, or etc...(jk haha)

Even though he was an idiot, doesn't mean he was completely illiterate either.

The only reason he got 0 points in his exams, is because of the rule that if a student don't write their names in the test paper, that student will get 0 points.

In fact in both the entrance exam and pop quiz, his scores are somewhere in the 40's barely passable.

Aomine: "Yaaaaawwnn, Okay let's sleep..."

May 1 came and went, and before they knew it school was over. Ike and the others had started listening to the teachers.

As for Aomine who often ditched classes, or sleep in his desk disciplined himself to keep awake.

Lunchtime came and the teacher left. Hirata went up on the teacher's podium taking everyone's attention to him.

Hirata: "Chiyabashira-sensei mentioned that the midterm is coming up soon. Remember that if you fail, you'll be expelled. Therefore, I think it would be a good idea to form a study group."

Apparently, the hero of Class D had started another project.

Hirata: "If you neglect your studies, you'll get a failing grade and be expelled on the spot. I want to avoid that. However, studying won't just prevent expulsion; it may also help earn points. If we receive high marks, our class's assessment should improve as a result. I asked some of the students who scored high on the test to help prepare a study plan. So, I would like people who are anxious to come join our group. Everyone is welcome, of course."

Hirata stared directly at Aomine while making his grand speech.

Aomine: "Tsk... I know already... I'll study alright? I'll show you..."

Aomine grumbled after Hirata stared at him. Apparently the 0 score made him known as the athletic genius, but dumb in tests.

Although the class knew it was only because he did a stupid mistake of not writing his name in the test paper, getting a 0 is still making him notorious.

Hirata: "Starting today at five o'clock, we will plan to study in this classroom for two hours a day until the test. If you'd like to join us, please come whenever you like. Of course, I don't mind if you need to leave partway. That's all I have to say."

Aomine stood up from his seat and go to Miyake's seat and eat lunch together. They often ate together so it wasn't strange.

Aomine: "Are you planning on joining Hirata's study group?"

Aomine casually asked holding a vegetable on his chopsticks.

Miyake: "No, I can do well by myself really. What about you Aomine, are you gonna be fine?"

Miyake only had a couple sandwich in his hand and a juice.

Aomine: "All I have to do is not forget writing my name in test paper right? I pulled an all-nighter yesterday practicing writing in Kanji. Now no one is gonna make fun of me anymore. Passing should be easy work."

He raised his chin proudly, as if he just got a milestone in life achievement.

Miyake: "Is that supposed to be proud of? Even elementary students could easily do that."

Aomine: "Let me be! As long as I'm happy and I don't trouble anyone, it's fine."

They chatted and eating together like buddies in highschool would. Their topic ranged from sports, to what type of girls they liked, to what kind of people they are in middle school, etc...

Ayanokouji: "Hey, Aomine. Have a minute?"

After having lunch, Ayanokouji suddenly came and asked Aomine.

Ayanokouji: "What are you going to do about the midterm?"

Aomine: "Oh, that. I don't know. I've never really studied seriously before. Maybe cram at the night before."

Ayanokouji: "Oh, yeah? Well, I have just the thing. I wanted to form a study group to meet every day after class, starting today. Want to join?"

Aomine: "Hm? Really? Are you gonna teach?"

Ayanokouji: "Don't worry about that part. Horikita's the tutor."

Aomine: "Horikita?... Let me guess, she threatened you to do this right?"

Aomine smiled a little just thinking about Horikita. She would wouldn't do something like this herself, and will threaten Ayanokouji to do it for her.

Ayanokouji: "Yeah... Exactly."

Aomine: "Like I thought, you've got it tough Ayanokouji... Miyake, what do you wanna do? Do you like to join too? It would be better someone smart teaching us right?"

Miyake: "Is there anyone else joining the study group, Ayanokouji?"

Ayanokouji: "Ike and Yamauchi, but I haven't invited them yet."

Miyake pondered a little. It was true that having an honor student like Horikita tutoring could help studying, but he didn't really want to study with many people.

Miyake: "Alright fine I'll join."

Aomine: "If he joins, then that goes for me too."

Originally they planned reviewing in the library, but being in a study group doesn't sound bad either.

When lunchtime ended Aomine get back on his seat.

Aomine: "Horikita, why do you have to threaten Ayanokouji? You could just talk to me directly."

Horikita: "That's false accusation Aomine. Do you have proof to back up your claim that I threatened him?"

Aomine: "It's like I always say, my intuition and they are never wrong."

Horikita: "You really like to speak nonsense, don't you?"

Aomine just laughed it off. This girl really is amusing.

Aomine: "Haha, well about the study group... Is it alright if we start after club activities?"

Horikita: "Alright. It shouldn't matter what time we start. We'll start in 8 until 10."

Aomine: "Sorry for troubling you Horikita. You're so kind."

Aomine smiled and patted Horikita's head. Somehow this time, his mind saw her as an adorable little girl young enough to be his granddaughter for several generations. His hand is big enough to cover most of the top of her head.

Horikita felt the warmth from his hands. Its filled with caring familial emotions she used to get from her big brother. She looked at Aomine's face and could see a silhouette of the brother who used to care for her.

Horikita: "....I'm merely doing it for myself. And don't you dare touch me, or I'll subdue you."

Ayanokouji had told her about the possible risks of deduction of Class Points when an expulsion happened. Though she wasn't very convinced, the fact that Aomine will be a great asset in the future was enough reason to help him.

There were also a thing that if they get high scores in the midterms, they could gain points.

Aomine: "Come on don't be shy, it's only a harmless headpat... Ah! Ouch!"

And he experienced a world of pain.

The next day...

Ayanokouji and Miyake walked together to the library after club activities.

When they arrived, they only saw Horikita and Ayanokouji there. The atmosphere is tense.

Aomine: "Arere? What's happening? I thought Ike and Yamauchi will be here too."

Miyake: "I saw them with Okitani and Kushida-san."

They go to the table where they are sitting.

Miyake: "Um, Horikita-san we have come as planned."

Aomine: "Yaaawnn... Let's get started, I'm tired after practice."

That was a lie of course.

Horikita: "If you were going to quit halfway through, then we don't have to do this. Aomine-kun? Miyake-kun?"

Aomine: "It's fine. I won't just quit anything that I started."

Miyake: "I guess I'll try. It want to score high too."

And thus they sat down in their seats.

Horikita: "For now, I have you to solve this problem. I included most of what will be covered on this test. We only have about two weeks left, but I plan to thoroughly walk you through everything. If you don't understand something, please ask."

Aomine looked at the questions in her notebook. It was simple enough for even first year or second year middle schoolers to solve.

Aomine: 'How inconvenient... I wish I could just let an NanoCom solve this things.'

In the other world, NanoCom are miniaturized and a thousand years more advanced than today's supercomputers, it was not a necessity but most people use them for convenience. They are a product of a very smart superhero using Nanotechnology to inject on the human brain.

Every person who could use Internal Energy could use them. Stuff like Math & Science problem solvers could be downloaded into the NanoCom making the person a literal computer. As long as you have this, even a 3 years old kid could solve University level problems like opening an app of your smartphones.

Aomine: 'Let's see... A, B, and C collectively have 2,150 yen. A has 120 yen more than B does. Also, after C gives B two-fifths of his money, B would have 220 yen more than A. How much yen did A originally start with?'

He wrote the solution in his notebook. Though unlike in the test, he didn't use [Thought Acceleration]. He thought it will be a waste of Internal Energy doing it outside of tests.

He looked bored solving them.

Horikita: "It was correct. Now into the next problem."

After that he get to the next problem. Horikita was a strict teacher who can't accept any mistakes.

Miyake was doing pretty well. He did even better than Aomine in Math and Science. Apparently it was his strong subject.

Aomine: "Aaaaghh... I'm beat..."

Miyake: "Me too..."

It was finally 10pm and they ended their study sessions. They packed their notebooks and textbooks in their bags.

The four of them walked out of the library and went on their way to the first year dormitory building.

Aomine: "By the way Horikita. Will you really abandon Ike and Yamauchi?"

Horikita: "They quit. There's nothing to be gained from associating with people who'll likely be expelled soon."

Aomine: "Hey now..."

He scratched the back of his head, as if he knew this was going to happen from the start.

Miyake: "Why is Kushida-san with them too?"

Ayanokouji: "Ike and Yamauchi wouldn't join in unless Kushida-san invites them."

Miyake: "That was understandable."

Aomine: "That's why Horikita looks angry at you huh... You got it tough, Ayanokouji."

Ayanokouji: "You can say that again...."

The three boys seems to come into agreement nodding slightly to themselves.

Horikita glared at them, as if she's being talked about.

After a while they arrived in their dormitory building of the first years and separated in the elevators.

Horikita: "Let's meet at the same time tomorrow."

And so they went to their respective rooms.

Aomine sat down in lotus position and started circulating his Internal Energy to recover his Stamina fast.

With this, he only needed a couple of hours before he was back at full strength. It was equivalent to an 8 hours of sleep.
