'Currently, it is a few days before Miya, Tatsuya, Miyuki, and Sakurai heading to Okinawa for vacation. I fought hard with Maya to be able to go and had to agree to some conditions, as this will be the last time I get to spend with my real family as mother or "Aunt Miya" will die soon after this due to her weak body. I don't remember my past life's family so I see her as my mother my one and only mother I just wish I could have spent more time with her before this. Also, 'mother' Maya's condition was this is my last time being able to act willfully and go out with them as later this year I will be announced as Yotsuba's Heir, I am not sure how this will affect the story as it seems I will not have any competition for the position. So it is already set in stone I will be head of the Yotsuba's all the subfamilies have accepted it and I will begin taking on duties after this vacation to learn my responsibilities.'

Kazuya reminisces on his training over the past six years as he moves to the training ground behind the Yotsuba Mansion. "Time to do some last-minute tests and see how far my abilities have come before my first real combat situation." I push out all unnecessary thoughts and focus on the obstacle course ahead of me. 'It is a survival course you wouldn't be surprised to see in a military facility with compliments turret emplacements, land mines, as well as some of the family guardians hiding in ambush as this is not only a test of my own. This is also due to my mother Maya having this added to the conditions of me going on a trip to Okinawa, I must complete this course in 2 minutes and without being knocked out. My fastest pace a year ago was 5:49 but I have practiced and made all the abilities from Tatsuya mine as well as having an overbearing ability in all forms of standard modern magic, I have amazing magical power, interference strength, and invocation speed. My favorite so far has been Lightning Magic just looks cool, but my Mental Interference Magic trumps it by far. I have yet to do this obstacle course using all my abilities so I am not too worried about passing it in the time allotted today will be with no handicaps.'

I come up to the starting area flipping my emotional switch and almost immediately hear the starting bell and flash cast Acceleration zone, most would see an afterimage of me moving to the before the minefield with Elemental Sight I lock onto and use Decomposition destroying all the mines in an instant. I flash to the start of the turrets layering the Deceleration zone over my running acceleration zone stopping all the bullets that enter. As I am coming onto the ambush point I start the cast of Niflheim ahead as I move into the fog from the dry ice it covers me cutting off the view from outside, I using elemental sight lock onto all the guardians waiting in ambush and use my personally created Mental Interference (Mind Eater Series) of Magic's 'Dissonance'. This Magic sequence causes the afflicted targets brain's communication with the body to be slowed so all actions made by the mind are delayed causing the individual to move in slow motion. Once that is done I flash by them while they have still crouched in their hiding places unable to respond, I cross the finish line in 30 seconds destroying my old time. That personal Magic Dissonance cost a lot of Psions to use on a group but it's my most unrestrictive non-lethal Magic Sequence and I would like to not injure so many of the family bodyguards since it will be my responsibility to fix them.

I cancel all my Magic Sequences and turn to Maya and do a polite bow, she looks at me for a moment nods, and walks back into the Yotsuba Mansion. I clench my fist in excitement having turned back on my emotions as I have found suppressing them with the switch causes issues if done for too long it causes me to have a hard time turning my emotions back on. I once turned them off for a month straight and when I turned them back on I felt sick and couldn't focus, I assume it's like a type of withdrawing but for emotions instead of an addict having to quit drugs cold turkey, from then on I only use it when in combat or important meetings with Maya.

Having passed Maya's test I start to pack for the trip as it's only a few days till we leave for Okinawa, I am both excited and nervous as this will be the first time I will be forced to take a life. I know this is needed for my growth and I am positive I will not freeze with my emotion switch, but the after-effects when they are back on are going to be harsh and it's what I am looking forward to the least.

'I hope I can take the place of Honami when Tatsuya uses Material Burst so she doesn't have to die from exhausting her Psion's and stressing her body I hope she can live a longer life but her being an augmented magician and not even a perfect one like Miyuki means she has a short life span regardless. This will be the first time I try to change the fate of death in this world I am curious to see if there is some type of counterforce and she will die to something else like it's fated that she dies or something. I hate to think of her as an experiment but I need this information sooner rather than later and she is the first person I am close enough to and have the ability to test this on. I guess we will have to see how things go the best-made plans fail at first contact so let's just let things run their course and let be what will be.'

While riding in the limo with his brother, Miyuki, biological mother, and Honami driving he gazes out at the passing scenery thinking to himself. 'Tomorrow is the start of the invasion but if I didn't know the future I wouldn't even notice a clue to the chaos about to happen. Looking like any typical day it was peaceful and they just went about their day as if there was nothing unusual. I used this chance to get some tips on Mental Design Interference magic from mom, also showing her some of my creations from the Mind Eater Series she was surprised, I also noticed from the corner of my eye a smile and pride I guess she is happy I am talented in her area of Magic. But when I looked at her she showed the same stern no-nonsense look, I learned a lot from her and have some ideas on how to fix her and Tatsuya, I hope I can finish ironing out the details before she passes so she can have at least a day with him where she can show her motherly love I am sure it torments her inside.'
