Shades of Purple

Before Kyouya knew it, the ball was on the ground beside him. What a jump! Kyouya was too lost in thought to realize that the ball was coming his way.

"Kyouya! Pay attention!"

"Watch out!"

The volleyball came over and smacked him in the forehead. Luckily, it didn't hit his nose. If it did, he would start bleeding, and wouldn't get to play in the game.

"Are you okay?" Akaashi asked.

"Y-yeah," Kyouya replied.

He got up, and was determined to do a fast attack like the shorty did.

"Akaashi," Akaashi heard a voice say when he was going to set.

Akaashi whipped his head around, only to find Kyouya staring at him. His mouth wasn't moving, but Akaashi could hear his voice.

"Send the ball to me," his voice said.

"Look at me. Send the ball to me. Why aren't you looking? You'll send the ball to me, right? Akaashi?" the words echoed into Akaashi's brain, as sweat dripped from his face. He sent the ball to Kyouya, without even having time to think. The pressure of his stare, his aura, his voice, it made Akaashi tremble. Kyouya slammed the ball down, blasting past all the blockers. Spread across his face was a wicked smile. He felt so alive. The ball hit ground before anyone could see it move. Karasuno's Libero was astonished. Everyone was astonished. But again, Kyouya was too lost in thought to realize anything. Akaashi had no idea Kyouya could be so terrifying. When Kyouya got back down on the ground, he let out a loud cry. It wasn't an "All right!" or a war cry or anything, though. It was a cry of pain and sorrow. The team rushed over. Kyouya was staring down at his hand. Akaashi looked at his hand. It wasn't red from the hit. It was purple. So many shades of purple.
