6 Two Mental Attribute Beasts?

Alex arrived back at the front of the warehouse only to be greeted by his parents grinning faces. 'What could they be so happy about?' He thought.

"Hi Honey, we have the perfect spirit soul for you to take as your first spirit ring," Ya Li his mother said as soon as he popped out from behind the rows of capsules.

"What really? I found one that I quite like the look of as well. What did you get for me? Mine is probably better" Alex asked, with a slight competitiveness in his eye.

"Ho-Ho how about we make a bet? Who finds the better mental attributed beast? If I win, I get to hug you as much as I want in public but if you win you can ask one thing of your father or I." Ya Li replies with a smug face.

Yun Ming next to her just decided to stay out of this, slightly shaking his head at his wife's actions towards their son. When their son was younger, he would always want to receive hugs and kisses from her but when he grew up he squirmed whenever she hugged him in public and she always made faces when she lost the opportunity to do so.

Hearing this bet that his own mother proposed Alex couldn't help but be curious about the beast that they had chosen for him. Even if he lost, aside from having to receive more hugs from his mother he would still win and would have a second selection of mental attributed beast for his soul rings.

"Ok, you're on!" Alex replied matching her competitive smug look with his own. He was confident in his selection as it was potentially created by Hou Yuhao himself who was potentially the strongest mental attributed user in history, even if the spirit wasn't meant to be mentally attributed as it is now.

"Well your fabulous father and mother managed to pick out a 400 year old Three-Eyed Golden Lion! I bet you didn't see that coming." His mother exclaims giving off an air of the winner before the match even finished. Alex gave a look towards his father who refused to look at him, as if he was embarrassed over his wife's actions. It was even infront of a Spirit Pagoda elder no less!

"Let's see the capsule. I am not entirely sure, but I believe that I can sense the strength of the mental attributed beast. Well I think what I can feel is the mental attribute of the beast at least." Alex said.

Hearing this the Elder Shin showed a bewildered expression which slowly turned to amazement, "That's AMAZING Alex!!! Do you know how awesome that could be for your future? If what you are saying is correct you will always be able to pick the best beasts for your soul rings!"

"Ha-ha yeah I know. It is amazing right?!" Replied Alex enjoying how someone else understands its importance.

"Well seeing as you have this ability what amazing beast did you pick out?" Questioned his father.

"Well I was wondering around trying to ascertain the strongest mental beast on the shelves when I found the last row in the back of the warehouse. There happened to be one row that held several mental attributed beasts which was way more than the rest of the rows I found. Sadly, most of these were either way below the level of the other mental attributed beasts or at the same level. However, I managed to find one that was way superior over its other counterparts. It is a 24 year old beast with the bloodlines of a Mystic Vision Owl and an unnamed eagle. It had mutated negatively for speed and flight, so it was deemed a failure, but I think that due to its negative mutation it significantly boosted the mental attribute of these beasts and made it way better than it should've been." Alex said with excitement. Seeing their shocked faces Alex decided to bring them back by asking, "Mum can I see the capsule of the Three-Eyed Golden Lion? I will try and compare the two for their strength."

Hearing Alex, Ya Li snapped out of her daze and hurriedly gave her son the capsule, extremely excited over the outcome. She had come to a realisation, just like her son, that even if one is weaker than the other, it is still a massive win for them as they found two really strong mental attributed beasts to buy. Maybe he can even place on in his second spirit essence? Her son being stronger and more talented brought nothing but excitement to her as any mother would feel for her son.

"Here you go Alex. Try your best but it doesn't matter anymore who wins. I am happy anyways" Ya Li told Alex with a smile.

"Thanks Mum, I feel the same way," Alex replied showing off a similar excited smile. Alex turned his attention back to the two capsules in his hands. In his left hand was the capsule he selected and in his right was the three-eyed golden lion respectively.

As he focused on the two mental attributes the beasts within these capsules were giving off, he was able to find that not only was their no clash between the two but the closer he moved the capsules together the more they resonated. They didn't have a connection between the beasts themselves per say but the intent that both beast's mental attributes gave off. The feeling was like they were both seekers of wisdom and lovers of learning. As he probed the capsules more, Alex was able to barely make out a pure golden lion followed by a white eagle that had the eyes of an owl. As he looked on at these beasts they both turned their eye-sights away from each other and towards him. Alex was shocked seeing this! 'It shouldn't be possible for them to see me. These capsules are supposed to block anything from seeing the outside world until they are opened. Maybe it could be due to me probing their capsules with mental energy. Even still, it is a really weird sensation!'

He wasn't sure how he was able to sense their intents, but them being able to give off this intent holds credit to their strength as spirit beasts.

As he ignored the intents and images he focused on their mental attribute strength itself. Alex realised that Three-Eyed Golden Lion was slightly stronger in that regard, however he did not forget that the lion spirit was over 300 years older than the other capsule. "From what I can sense the Three-Eyed Golden Lion has a stronger mental attribute."

As soon as he said this Ya Li tried to hold-off on her reaction, but a slightly wider smile appeared on her face with a proud glint in her eye.

"But, we have to acknowledge that the lion spirit is over 300 years older than my white soul ring choice so I would say it would be about even." Alex finished looking at his mother's proud glint slightly diminish and a slight pout to form on her face. Yun Ming rubbed her back in consolation on not winning outright against her son while still shaking his head.

Following this Alex turned to the Elder, "Elder Shin can we take both of them? Taking one and not the other would be a disappointment so I can just save one for my next ring." Alex subconsciously brought the two capsules in closer to him as if defending them from being taken.

Elder Shin noticed this action and could not help but smirk. He then turned to the young man's father to see what he would say on this matter. Yun Ming realising it is his time to speak perked up, coughed slightly and said, "Yes that is fine Alex. How much would that cost us Elder Shin?"

"That will cost you 1.3 million coins. As the white soul ring capsule is labelled as a failure product even though it turned out for the best in this case, we will only charge 30 thousand coins rather than the usual 70 thousand for a white soul capsule." Elder Shin replied, his smirk being dropped as he accounted for the potential loss this trade has for him and the Spirit Pagoda.

Yun Ming nodded in confirmation and handed over the money from his storage ring. "Well I think it is time we head off then? Cultivation waits for no one." He said with a little chuckle.

"Very well. If you would just follow me out. Just to remember Alex, the beasts sealed within the capsules will only last for 24 hours once opened, so if you are planning on saving one for your next breakthrough do not open it until you are certain you will use it. We won't reimburse you if you open it and it dies because of that." Elder Shin mentioned as they walked back down to the ground floor of the Spirit Pagoda.

"Thanks for your hospitality, Elder."

"Thank you for your purchase here, Sir Atlas."
