UA Entrance (1)

"You didn't forget anything, right?"

Mikan wiped her hand with a hand towel as she prepared her bento. It has already been a year since their parents moved out of the house to pursue their careers as Mikan took the responsibility of cooking for the house.

While their dad, Saibai Yuuki, only lives a few blocks away, he seldom gets free time from his manga illustrations which he ends up spending with the siblings while their mother visits them two-three times a year. If not for the threat of aerial monsters and mysterious beings, she would've been able to spend more time with the siblings.

Rito silently pondered before smiling at Mikan.

"Don't worry, aside from studying for the theoretical exam, I haven't forgotten anything."

Mikan placed the bento in her backpack and gave Rito a sidelong glance.

"I would've believed you if it wasn't your 7th time giving me the same answer while scoring top in exams."

Rito shrugged as the bell of the Yuuki household suddenly rang up.

"I'll check."

Rito stood up from the dining table and walked towards the door with a lazy gait. No matter how much he trained, he only got lazier in the morning. With a yawn, he opened the door and looked at the blonde-duo visitor.

"Yes? Do we know you?"

Rito looked at the bespectacled woman wearing a turtleneck sweater as her golden easily crossed her waist. The little girl standing next to the woman had a similar face and identical hair colour and crimson eyes. The only difference would be that the mature woman had a beautiful smile on her face that dazzled Rito while the little girl gave Rito a sidelong glance that could be compared to Mikan's.

Bowing slightly, the beautiful blonde woman spoke up.

"Apologies for disturbing you in the morning. I am Tearju Lunatique and this is my daughter, Eve Lunatique.

We just moved next door and wanted to greet our neighbours."

Rito returned the greeting with a polite bow and smiled.

"I see, welcome to the neighborhood, Lunatique-san and Lunatique-chan. I am Rito Yuuki and I live alongside my sister.

Would you like some coffee?"

He gestured the duo before looking at Eve with a polite smile.

"And a glass of milk for the beautiful girl."

"Tch."

Eve suddenly snorted and shook her head while Tearju smiled apologetically.

"I am sorry about Eve, Yuuki-kun. It's just that the sudden moving has frustrated my daughter."

Rito shook his head.

"Not to worry. I know the feeling of dealing with frustrated girls. My sister is about the same age as Eve-chan.

May I call you Eve-chan?"

Rito crouched down and smiled at Eve, matching her irritated gaze with a gentle expression.

"Rito! What's taking so long?"

Mikan got out of the kitchen and walked towards Rito as she saw the blonde mother-daughter pair. Her eyes immediately felt dazzled by the raw charm of almost identical features of the duo.

"They are?"

She stuttered lightly as she looked at Eve, who matched her gaze with a curious expression herself.

Rito stood up with a smile and placed his hands on Mikan's shoulder before making her stand in front of the duo and spoke with a slightly smug smile.

"Lunatique-san, Eve-chan, she is my cute younger sister, Mikan Yuuki.

Mikan, they both are our new neighbours and came here to introduce themselves. This is Tearju Lunatique-san, Eve Lunatique-chan's mother."

"Good Morning, I am Mikan Yuuki."

She bowed politely and introduced herself before looking at Eve curiously.

"Uhm, Yuuki-kun, thank you for inviting us over for beverage but I think we should get going.

Today is Eve's first day of middle school and she needs a lot of preparation for school."

"No problem. Besides, which school has Eve transferred into?"

Rito asked out.

"Oh, it is Sainan Middle School."

Tearju replied while Eve made another 'Tch' sound.

"I see if you—"

Before Rito could complete, Mikan cut in between and looked at Eve.

"Eve-san, if you want, I can walk with you. I go to the same school."

Eve looked at Mikan silently before nodding.

Seeing this Tearju placed her hand over Eve's head and smiled at Mikan.

"Thank you so much, Mikan-chan."

They both bowed to each other before Rito heaved a sigh. It was extremely hard for him to remain so formal all the time but he couldn't help but smile as he looked at Mikan's twinkling gaze.

"Good for you."

"What do you mean?"

Mikan immediately regained her composure and asked with a dignified tone that belonged to the ruler of the house. As she took the responsibility of food, she conveniently decided to become the owner of the household while her loyal subject— Rito Yuuki, passed the crow to her with a humble smile.

"Yeah, yeah, stop acting so high and mighty. I bet Eve's going to make you run here and there."

He ruffled her hair as she pouted in displeasure.

It looks like she needed to arrange a Yuuki Court once again to decide her only subject's punishment.

'Maybe feeding him sooooo~ much that he has a stomach ache for a few days..."

Mikan thought 'evilly' for a moment before scraping this particular idea.

'That won't work. Rito could practically engulf a cow after his training.'

As she packed her bag while pondering, she felt something warm on her forehead as she immediately looked up, gazing at Rito's goofy smile.

"I'm off to UA. Wish me luck."

Mikan touched her forehead and still felt a light imprint of Rito's warm lips before muttering— "Good Luck."

'Maybe... maybe he doesn't need a punishment after all. He still understands his priorities.'

Mikan fell thoughtful as Rito left with a confident smile.

He didn't feel like failing after getting Mikan's wish.

***

With a fairly decent speed, Rito dashed towards the most prestigious high school of the nation that has a history of developing the strongest heroes that have left their marks in the annals of history.

Not only that, it is a fact that the strongest quirkless heroes have taken up the teaching jobs in UA High School.

While he Rito ran with the delusion that his speed was nothing out of the ordinary, he failed to notice the shocked eyes of the other students walking towards UA caused by the wind following his dash, making the girls yelp in surprise as their skirts were flipped while some of the students with peculiar features couldn't help but feel grim.

"A wind-type quirk or a speed-type quirk?"

"Maybe both?"

"There wasn't any change in his body. I was able to catch a glimpse with my quirk. Most probably, that is an emitter-type quirk."

"If it's emitter, then it must have a break-even point. Using such a quirk before the examination feels... stupid."

As the surrounding students aspiring to join UA fell into a heated discussion, a particular pink-skinned boy with curving black horns and red eyes felt disgruntled as his twin sister just ditched him for no apparent reason.

"She's always like this, right? That bitch!"

Walking beside the boy, a blonde girl with short spiky hair swiped back by a hairband shouted as her red pupils dilated in rage. She gritted her teeth and glared at the pink-haired boy.

"Why can't you control your goddamn sister, huh? You useless spitter."

Looking sideways, the boy did not feel obligated to answer the foul-mouthed blonde, but she happened to be the daughter of his parents' friends and also got along with his own twin sister.

"Don't look at me like that. It's not like Hanabi-nee has ditched us for the first time."

"Aaah! I hate that little—"

The raging dirt-blonde's voice was covered by the crackling explosions from her hands... and mouth.

"Heya! Is this your quirk? Speeding up?"

"Hmm?"

Rito looked sideways only to witness a pink-skinned girl with black sclera and yellow iris alongside short pink hair and black curved horns on top of her forehead.

Meanwhile, a pair of pixie wings were unfurled behind her back and kept on flapping lightly.

"Oh, hello there, I am Rito Yuuki."

Rito finally stopped his jog and smiled at the stranger. Since she was wearing a middle school uniform, he guessed that she was here for the entrance exam as well.

"Hi, I am Hanabi Eijiro! Nice to meet you!"

She spoke excitedly as she landed on the ground and looked around Rito curiously.

"So? Are you an emitter-type by any chance?"

Rito shook his head and smiled.

"Try quirkless-type."

Hanabi started walking around him as she heard Rito's words.

"Quirkless, huh? Wait, what?

Quirkless?"

She immediately ran in front of Rito and asked loudly. As they both were walking, the surrounding students also heard her surprised shout.

"Jeez, sorry for my outburst but dude, don't mess with me! Are you really quirkless?"

She tiptoed and turned towards Rito while she walked backwards.

"Yeah, pretty much. If you think that being good at using pencil and drawing manga is a quirk, then I may have one.

But the doctors were pretty determined about me being quirkless... so, yeah."

Rito shrugged as Hanabi looked at his magnificent build.

"Heh~ So do you train a lot? I mean, like, do you train crazy?"

Rito rubbed the back of his head as he recalled Garou's maniacal expression as they both sparred.

"Define crazy..."

"See, if you ask such a question, then no doubt, you must have gone all out."

Hanabi immediately returned to his side and spoke with a grin.

"What about you? You got a pretty sweet quirk yourself."

Rito pointed at her luxurious black wings that matched her horns.

"I know, right? This is a part of my quirk— Hard Pixie!"

She spoke as she flapped her wings, generating a gust of wind.

"Nice!"

Rito commented and looked at her wings with brilliance in his eyes.

As they walked, a sudden shout interrupted them as Hanabi looked at Rito with a wry expression.

"Uh-oh!"

"Hanabi! You little shit! Who do you think you were ditching?!"

Yo.
