72 Chapter 64: After the training

As the sun that graced the world with its beautiful and warm rays of light started to set on the horizon, the daily life of people in Paradise Palace was the same throughout the whole day.

It was just another peaceful evening.

*GROAN*

Peaceful to everyone, but Hai and his group.

"M-My legs…" Stella muttered while she seemingly dragged herself toward the door of Chang Hua's mansion.

"Damn…" Jia couldn't help but mutter while feeling some of her bones moving like a rusty cog. She even wondered if they would break by how difficult it was to move sometimes.

Meanwhile, Bing Qing kept walking absentmindedly even though her appearance was pitiful with several bruises and blood in some parts. As her tails moved around in a random pattern and her ears twitched, she would also peek at Hai from time to time before falling back into her own thoughts.

"…" Hong Li-Wei on the other hand was silently walking along with them with a brooding look and her bunny ears a bit down. Her training in itself was an epic failure since she didn't progress at all in her magic, she spent all her time trying to deal with the memories that kept plaguing her, so she didn't have time for that.

And that was also the reason why she was like that, she couldn't finish dealing with her past. They were so many regrets she had to overcome; so many unsolved hatreds; it required much more of her than she thought it would.

While with Kryn, things were a bit better but she also had her own problems.

Kryn's eyes were burning in annoyance and if one paid attention, one could notice she huffing from time to time.

If Hong Li-Wei couldn't progress due to her past, then Kryn couldn't because she just exploded herself.

That was the only thing she could do.

To gather mana?

Explosion.

To try to use mana?

Explosion.

To explode?

Kaboom.

Kryn was almost screaming out of annoyance through her training. She had never felt so much irritation as she felt today.

"The palace master really didn't go easy on you, did she, sweetie?" Chang Hua who was also battered and had her robe torn in several places, commented while gazing at Hai.

Elena on the side was giving him a slightly worried look, out of everyone, she was the one who actually didn't suffer much and made some progress with her magic.

<You don't say…>

Hai turned to his aunt with one eye closed and faced her with a straight expression.

He had shed so much blood, that he made his previously white robe into a deep crimson one, nearly black. With several cut marks on his face, neck, arms, and legs, he seemed to have crawled out of a mortal battle instead of a training session.

Raising his right hand up, he did a thumbs up.

"I'm ok, for the most part." He remarked before adding the last part after a slight pause and still maintaining a straight face.

*SNAP*

His arm lost strength after a snap resounded in the area, and his forearm bent in a not-so-normal direction.

"…"

"…"

"…"

Hai with an impeccable display of high-level poker face moved his eye toward his arm, then back to his aunt and Elena.

"Tis but a scratch." His acting skills were no joke.

"…"

"…"

They both didn't know what to comment on it.

Chang Hua was rather amused at it but she was just also worried about his condition, though not so much as she knows that he isn't one to lie about it.

Elena on the other hand also knew about it, but this didn't stop her from worrying.

Delicately moving her hands, as if afraid of hurting him, she lightly grabbed his right hand and started to channel some mana.

"Oh, thanks, hon. Though you don't need t-" Hai stopped talking when he saw Elena glaring at him.

<Nevermind.>

As the group finally made their way toward the mansion's door, the servants in wait opened the door for them.

Right after entering, Jia excused herself and went away, probably to tend to her injures and take a bath.

And not even a second after, the girls immediately had the same consensus.

'I need a bath.'

As they thought so, they looked at each other and seemed to understand the others without a word.

Nodding, they all started to walk toward the bath.

However, they soon saw Hai and Elena already ahead of them. They both didn't waste time thinking and simply went toward the bathroom.

Did Hai care if the others would join them? Not even a bit.

Arriving at the bathroom, Hai opened the door using magic and walked inside with Elena following suit.

"The last one to enter close the door." He spoke in a voice loud enough for the girls to hear while he sat on a stool.

"Excuse me, young master." Elena said before ejecting her clothes off of her body and taking soap and a shower.

Hai only hummed in agreement. He knew that if he tried to protest, he would be immediately shot down by Elena, so he just went along. In less than a second, his clothes had vanished to somewhere else.

As Chang Hua and the girls entered the bathroom, Hong Li-Wei, the last one closed the door.

When the girls turned to look at Hai, they all froze with the exception of Chang Hua and Kryn.

As his arm was at least in the right position now, Hai looked like a human being and not some eldritch abomination, hence, the girls looked at him and basked in all of his godly glory.

Hong Li-Wei felt her brain stopping and just stared at him with an empty mind.

Bing Qing seemed to finally snap out of her daze and her face flushed red, but while her expression showed an embarrassed lady, her eyes glued to his body didn't quite match with her expression.

And lastly Stella…

She nearly lost it.

Now that she wasn't busy thinking about how she was dying of tiredness, she noticed a slightly sweet but very pleasant scent in the air.

A scent that she as a vampire knew all too well.

Blood.

Looking at the source of the scent, she saw that it was none other than Hai.

And this coupled with the vision before she gave a very powerful stimulus to her.

Gritting her teeth and controlling herself, Stella soon found herself walking toward him.

"AH!" As Stella was letting herself be guided by her desires, Hong Li-Wei's brain finally rebooted and she snapped out of her daze.

With a startled cry and a small blush on her face, she finally noticed what situation she was in and immediately turned around to try to get away.

However, she noticed that the door had been completely frozen over.

Chang Hua only looked at her with an amused gaze before throwing her clothes aside and going to wash herself.

Kryn observed all of this and stood there without knowing what to do.

"Kryn, come here." Chang Hua said after noticing that the girl was lost.

While all of this was happening, Bing Qing was still solely focused on looking at Hai.

"Wouldn't you join in, Bing Qing?" Hai eventually asked after feeling her gaze for some time. Although he doesn't mind if she sees him or not, even he felt a bit awkward with her looking for so long.

"Hai…" Stella muttered while extending her arms toward him, but he didn't even need to do anything about it.

"Yeah, no." He commented while seeing Stella being thrown to the other side of the bathroom by a hand made of purple miasma.

After seeing that Stella was alive, Hai decided to just relax for now and let Elena wash him.

"So, how was your day?" Hai asked out of the blue while inside the big bathtub.

By now, everyone was already inside the bathtub and wearing towels, as to not make some people faint.

Currently, he was sitting in a relaxed position while leaning on the bathtub's edge, and Kryn was sitting on his lap while hugging Chilly, who decided to appear again.

Hai was in a very casual position despite the situation.

Elena was beside him and leaning her head on his shoulder and with her eyes closed, just enjoying spending time with her young master.

Chang Hua was relatively near him and she was also unconcerned about this situation, she was drinking some alcohol in a small cup while a bottle of this drink was on a wooden plate floating on the water near her.

Aside from them, the other three people in the bathroom were pretty awkward with this situation.

Stella, on one hand, was starting to crave Hai's blood, but on the other hand, she didn't want to do that as she knows the consequences of doing so with him.

She most likely wouldn't be able to live without that anymore. The scent was far sweeter and more delicious than any blood she ever had. She highly doubts that his blood will be something normal that she can taste and then live on normally.

Bing Qing meanwhile, was lost in her own thoughts. Thoughts that involved burning Hai's image in her mind, as her eyes barely left him the whole time they entered the bathtub.

Hong Li-Wei was probably the most normal one, she was embarrassed and seemed to be the only one that still had some conscience about the situation they were in.

With only a towel wrapped around her body, she used one hand in front of her garden to further hide it and another one to hold the edge of the towel near her breasts.

"Is no one going to say anything?" Noticing the silence, Hai referred to his earlier question, and only received a few looks as an answer.

"It was terrible." Chang Hua commented while sipping on her drink.

"Oho? Tell me more." He got curious upon hearing her words and remembering the girls' previous states.

"We fought against an army of golems." She answered while scowling. She had started to dislike golems.

"Nearly indestructible golems, don't forget this part." Stella also chimed in after hearing Chang Hua's words. She seriously questioned if the golems were based on vampires or another race with high endurance or something like that, it was already hard enough to take out one, but they had to take out waves upon waves of those things.

"You all had it hard, huh." Hong Li-Wei commented while remembering their previous states.

"Yeah, we had." Stella nodded.

"I wasn't talking about you." Hong Li-Wei remarked with a snicker, which earned a vein snapping on Stella's forehead.

As they both started bickering, Hai turned to look at Bing Qing.

The person in question, snapped out of her daze when she felt his gaze on her.

"Yeah, it was hard." She commented and immediately blushed, her tails got slightly more agitated and her ears started twitching.

Hai could easily guess the reason why she had such a reaction but he didn't comment on it because his aunt beat him on it.

"Maybe it wouldn't be so hard if you didn't get hit like a punching bag." Chang Hua spoke while feeling a headache just remembering how she had to always go and drag Bing Qing back because she was sent flying away.

"…" To this, the foxwoman couldn't say anything.

"And you, Kryn?" Hai asked while putting one hand on her hair and ruffling it.

"Huh. Terrible." Kryn answered while the fire in her eyes came back.

"…" This answer caught Hai off-guard as he didn't expect such an answer from her.

"Mana. Gather. Try. Explosion. Many." Kryn added, further amusing him.

Looking at her, Hai smiled and ruffled her hair more.

'Looks like she needs some help.' Closing his eyes for a bit, Hai just fell silent and enjoyed the bath.

If he had to be honest, even though he meet a complicated and arrogant lady today, trained with a crazy woman who seemed to want to kill him, this day was also one of the most fun for him, as he, for a long time, didn't have to worry about tomorrow, the protagonist or anything at all.

<Damn… I just wish I could spend my days like this. This peace is so good…>

Hai's thought made all the girls quiet down and they either outright looked at him or glanced at him from the corner of their eyes.

<Now, that my plans have already been thrown out of the window, I should probably start my emergency one.>

Hai's lips suddenly broke into a small, sinister smile that made the girls look at him with a variety of reactions.

<This might actually be more fun than my previous one.>

Thanks for the patience, everyone.

This chapter came out a bit shorter than usual due to me battling my keyboard to write this. Seriously, there were sometimes when I had to tap from 3 to 5 or more times the spacebar for it to work.

So, what do you guys think about this chapter? I decided to make something outside of training (you all don't know how I quickly get bored of writing training, but this is also necessary, so yeah, life is hard.), and also start to address a few things ongoing in the world.

Comment what you thought about this chapter. If you liked it or not, I want to read your opinions and interact more with you guys.

Another thing: Please give your feedbacks. I want to know what you guys think, if there are things that could be better or if I could have done something in a simpler manner. If you could also leave a review, that would help me to understand what you think about the novel in general, so it would be really helpful.
