Chapter 4: The (not so) terrible party [2]

"We are here, young master." Elena said right as she got out of the luxurious car they were riding and opened the door for Jin Hai.

Jin Hai got out of the car and thanked Elena with a simple smile.

He is saddened by the fact that he has to wait until he is disowned by his family to act lovey-dovey with Elena but he shall endure it for now.

"Stay close." He said and calmly walked towards the mansion's door.

Right now, he is passing through his parents' mansion's parking lot. And worth of being a high-class party, there are several cars and motorbikes from several brands around the world and all of them are extremely luxurious, with the cheapest costing around 3.500.000,00 RM.

RM stands for Royal Mana, it's the currency currently used all over the world. The Royal Mana are simply coins made of purer mana that have a higher value than any metal on Earth (aside from really rarer ones like mithril, orichalcum and above) and can even be used as a way to supply someone with mana and aid them in getting stronger. As I said, money is power in the literal sense.

I just give a brief look at the vehicles in the parking lot and then continued to walk towards the doors.

'They aren't even the ones who drive their vehicles, why buy such costly vehicles if they wouldn't drive it?' I know it's a show of wealth, but if you are going to show your wealth, show your intelligence along with it. Who wastes their money with something they aren't going to fully use?

Onto this topic, I should buy a car for me to drive.

I should buy a beetle. They are relics of when Earth still hadn't mana, so I should be able to avoid paying taxes. But… It still uses gasoline as fuel. I don't want to attract the elves' hatred for damaging the planet.

I'll think about it once I get out of here.

Right after Jin Hai finished his thoughts, he stood before the mansion's doors where a troll security guard was.

The security guard sneered at him. Does he know who he is? Of course, he does, and that is exactly why he is sneering.

The mansion's staff was already informed that they young master is to be disowned today, so they should find some trouble with him if they wished.

The guard stretched his arm towards him and said:

"Invitation." He didn't even add a 'please' because he has no courtesy for Jin Hai whatsoever.

Jin Hai looked at this security guard and saw him sneering.

Jin Hai smiled innocently, brough his hand to his pockets, picked a paper and put in the guard's hand.

The guard looked confusedly at the paper. It clearly wasn't an invitation.

"This is an invitation." The guard said and looked back at Jin Hai.

Jin Hai still with his innocent smile simply said:

"Of course no, it's a cellphone's number."

The guard looked even more confused.

"The owner of this number is acquainted of mine, he is a neurologist. He should be able to do something with your Alzheimer." Jin Hai patted him in the shoulders and pushed the doors open.

"YOU-" The guard snapped out of his daze went to grab Jin Hai's shoulder.

*BAM*

Elena who was behind Jin Hai simply blasted the bug away from her young master. How dare some bug try to touch her young master? This is simply pure heresy!

She could also have simply kicked him away and this would be faster than using magic.

However, her maid uniform isn't exactly a classical one but a rather sexy. She didn't want to take any chance of the bug or some bystander see her underwear. This was only reserved for her young master and no one else.

Jin Hai didn't even bat an eye to the guard being sent flying and entered the hall.

The staff that was besides the door to announce who was going to enter next was flustered when he saw Jin Hai entering and forgot to do his duty.

Everyone in the hall stopped and looked at Jin Hai in the exact moment he entered.

As soon as everyone's gaze fell on Jin Hai, everyone instantly lost interest.

Some even went as far as to show mocking expressions on their faces.

Jin Hai's face deadpanned.

'Is everyone of high-society nowadays so terrible at maintaining a simple poker-face?' He was genuinely curious. How could such people even get deals and do business if they couldn't maintain a poker-face?

The world of a novel is a mysterious place.

Jin Hai ignored the stares and went towards where his parents are.

He strolled the hall in a carefree manner without bothering to look at anyone.

Nobody in here is worth of his gaze or attention.

To Jin Hai, if you can't have a bit of respect for the next and self-awareness, then you aren't worth of being called a sentient being. You're less than an ant as even an ant would respect another ant.

He is a down to earth guy and dealing with those stuck-up high-families is annoying and a waste of time to him.

After arriving before his parents, his mother and father looked at him.

His father had a displeased expression on his face. Meanwhile his mother had a more neutral expression but one could see disdain deep in her eyes.

"Hai, you're here." His father said.

After being made a fool by the whole China Federation, Jin Hai's father never called him by his full name. This isn't to show that he likes his son enough to call him by his first name, but to show that he doesn't recognize him as a Jin's family member.

As for Jin Hai…

He would have liked more if his father didn't call him anything or better yet, if he didn't call him to anything at all.

"Where is the girl?" Jin Hai asked with a bored tone.

His mother instantly felt annoyed at her "son" way of calling her baby girl.

"Watch your words, young man. You're talking abo-"

"I'm talking about who I'm talking about. What I say doesn't concern you. Keep you disdain and annoyance for me deep inside you. Nobody cares." Jin Hai looked at his "mother" and stated with a matter-of-fact tone.

His mother gritted her teeth in rage at his words but before she could lash out at him, Jin Hai's father intervened.

He got up and went towards the stairs going to the second floor.

Everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at him.

He walked until he was at a division where the stairs go into two opposing ways to the second floor.

Turning to the crowd he touched his neck and right after, the lights diminished and a spotlight focused on him.

"*COUGH* Everyone, I thank you all for being coming here today. This truly makes me happy to know that all of you take my baby girl seriously."

Jin Hai in the meanwhile picked a chair, sat down, crossed his legs and lit a cigarette.

"Without further ado, it's with immense pleasure that I introduce the star of the night, my baby girl, Jin Meili!"

Right after Jin Hai's father words, the spotlight focused on top of the stair.

From there, a beautiful girl of about 18 years-old could be seen.

She has long silky black hair, black eyes, modest body being more on the balanced side and was wearing a golden quipao to highlight her beauty.

<Damn, that scared me! I almost thought it was monster entering.>

Jin Meili's steps faltered and she nearly fell down. But she managed to maintain her composure so nobody noticed anything wrong with her.

Since yesterday she has been heard this voice that belongs to her "brother" and she was confused at first, but now she is nearly sure that she can hear his thoughts or at least some of them.

She took a quick peek at him and saw him chatting with his maid, ignoring her whole existence and the party altogether.

She felt angry at him for ignoring her and everyone in this party. How dare him! He is just a good-for-nothing young master and even the most incompetent member in this party is better than him in any area.

Although she felt she had to teach him a lesson about humility, she was already on her way to do this.

Smirking at herself, she arrived at her father's side.

Jin Hai's father looked at her and smiled.

Then he looked back at the crowd.

"I have an important announcement to do." He said with a happy expression.

The hall that was previously filled with whispers about the young miss of the Jin family was suddenly engulfed in silence once again.

Everyone be human, elf, beastkin, orc, dwarf, vampire or another race present in there, stayed silent.

Some of them had an anticipating expression.

Others were directly looking at Jin Hai and smiling.

Then, Jin Hai's father took a deep breath and delivered the news he was so happy about.

"As of today, I officially declare Jin Meili is the official successor of the Jin family."

The people in the hall were shocked to hear this but it didn't last long for them to express their reactions.

Some of them were rejoicing in their hearts.

Some were blatantly expressing their happiness for everyone to see.

And some other turned to look at Jin Hai.

Jin Hai's father also looked at Jin Hai but he was confused when he saw his son's relaxed expression.

'Ah. I see. He is stupid enough to not even understand what my news entrail. Or maybe he thinks he is going to have an easy live living off from his money.' It would be an understatement to say he was disappointed he had a son like this one.

*COUGH*

After Jin Hai's father coughed and garnered everyone's attention, he delivered the second and most important news.

"Also, as my baby girl has officially been appointed as the official successor, I officially disown Jin Hai. As of today, he shall not bear the surname Jin anymore. He shall live his whole live in regret and sha-"

"Can you hurry up and just say where do I sign? You are wasting everyone's time in here." Jin Hai, or better, Hai's voice sounded when he interrupted the Jin's head's speech.

Everyone in the hall stopped and stood shocked for some good seconds.

Then, everyone without exception turned to look at Hai, who was looking the Jin's head with a bored gaze and seemed like he couldn't wait to get out of here.

After the shock passed, the Jin's head's face went red and veins bulged but he still reined in his anger and continued.

"Very well. The documents are already signed. Also, you will not have a single cent of our family's money. This also includes the thing you have bought with our money. You will be disposed of everything and your mansion as well as everyone in there that was paid with our money is going to be taken back by us." He said this with a smiling expression, wanting to see him not understanding that he was losing everything now. Even a stupid person like him would realize it by now.

Sadly for him, Hai is not your average young master.

"Ow! Pweh~ That scared me. I almost gave a f*ck. You nearly had me in there. Smart move, old man, smart move."

Everyone was flabbergasted and looked at Hai as if he was crazy or some rare animal.

He is losing everything he had since birth and he is still joking?

Is he so stupid to think that this is all a prank?

Some couldn't help but shake their head when they thought this.

"Are you still going to joke?" The Jin's head asked.

"Give me your credit card." He said while stretching his arm.

"Old man, are you that stupid?" Hai couldn't help but ask with a curious expression.

If there was doubt before, there is none now. He is crazy. Everyone in the hall had this same thought and their evaluations of Hai fell yet again.

The Jin's head decided to not waste more time with him and didn't say anything.

"I just want to make sure, but have you ever checked my bank account or transaction history?" Hai asked while not moving from where he was.

"Why would I?" The Jin's head asked while getting confused as to why he even mentioned it.

"Old man, check it. From the day you and that woman gave me the credit card, I haven't wasted a single cent in it. I'm going to give back what I bought with the Jin's money? Look at your transactions. I haven't done a single one. All I have, my mansion, my cars, my maids and butlers are paid with my money and my money alone. The Jin's have no part in what I own. If you want you can even check with all your contacts to see if I ever used them." Hai said while looking at the Jin'

Head as if looking at someone stupid.

This is the first time he has reached this part.

All the other runs he would be sent back right when he was disowned.

But now that he wasn't, he couldn't help but question the Jin's head's IQ.

Who the hell gives someone a credit card with their family's money in it and don't even bother to check their bank account or transaction's history even after 16 years? Is everyone in this novel world so stupid?

A/N: Hello there! I hope you all are having a wonderful day.

So, I'm just passing here to give a quick message:

Some of you might be unsatisfied with the novel being too much of "a random thing" in this earlier chapters.

However, I'm doing them because I have to get you all to know about the MC finally being done with the plot for him to finally start his life.

I believe around the chapter 6 or 7 I should be done with this "plot" and finally go to his life.

Also, don't worry, it won't be just slice of life and there will be action in it.
