1 Pleasing A Storm

Adara's umber-brown curls danced with the wind as she ran through the daisy field, laughing until Arlo grabbed her arm and pulled her back.

They both fell into the flowers after he grabbed her face and pulled her in for a kiss. She thrust him away from her and stared into his Paris burn eyes. "What are you looking at?" he asked, raising his eyebrows.

Adara whispers, mesmerized, "you," before pulling him back for a kiss.

Adara stands around 5'7. She is a medium skin complexion with olive undertones, rosy cheeks, soft, arched eyebrows, gray eyes, and vast umber brown curls.

<gwofw> Her lips were soft and rounded to an angelic shape.

As for Arlo, he stood around 6'3. He had a dark complexion with cool blue undertones, bushy eyebrows, short jet black curls, Brown eyes, soft square jawline, and classical full lips.

Adara heard a faint voice calling her name as they made out amid the daisy flowers. After pushing Arlo back, she stares at him with concern.

Insisting he should hurry, she whispered, "Leave now.".

Before opening a portal and leaving, Arlo nodded and gave her a last kiss.

After brushing the flowers out of her hair, she tried to get Arlos' scent off her. As she runs from the field back home, Adara immediately sees her father outside their house, addressing her as she approaches.

"It is almost dawn, Adara, let this moment. After, make this be the last time this ever happens next time I won't be this nice; I have to go somewhere, I will be back later." He kissed her on the forehead before pushing her inside the house.

As She closed the door behind her, Adara's mother leaned against the fireplace, cleared her throat, and sipped on a cup of red wine.

While sipping her wine, she looked straight at Adara: "Who do you think we should see again? Arlo?"

During her gasp of shock, Adara froze. "How did you know, wait, you haven't told dad?" She asked hysterically.

In response, Adara's mother laughed and smiled, "of course not, that would be breaking the girl code, but if he finds out, you're all on your own." Turning off her heel, she faces towards the hallway and walks towards the kitchen.

As Adara climbed the stairs to her room, she shook her head in disbelief. While she lays on her bed, she pulled out her phone. After checking it for both text messages and phone calls, she sighed and threw it on the far side of her bed. Adara's father completely cuts her off from everyone. She had the same four friends since 3rd grade, no social life, and for some, this might seem like a good thing, but it made her feel miserable every time she thought about it, and all the fancy belongings couldn't console her loneliness.

About three hours passed by, and it was around 10:30 now. Once Adara recollected her emotions, Adara walked back out of her room and went down the stairs to find something to eat. Her father sat on the couch as she walked to the kitchen. Although Adara smiled and tried passing him, he clicked his tongue, making her turn around. Though she was not sure what was wrong, she assumed that he was joking.

Quite sternly, he asked, "Who's Arlo?" Adara took a long gulp, with a knot forming in her stomach. Her eyes widen, now fully understanding his question.

Her gaze lowered to the ground, attempting to play off her emotions. She then whispered, "Who's that, and didn't you have like a date with mom?"

"I told you not to do one thing, yet you still went against my wishes. From here on out, you will only be allowed inside the house, and your phone will be mine. " Adara," said her father, rubbing his temples with his hand on his hip.

As tears rolled down her cheeks, she yelled, "Can't you see that you're hurting me. I'm 17. You can't do that to me anymore! I love Arlo, I will not let you take him from me again, I will not give up.".

He leaned down towards Adara's ear, "There is a lot you don't know, sweetheart, take my advice or, you'll end up hurting. Stop trying to please a storm you can't soothe. You don't know anything about that boy," He returned to her eyes, nodded, and walked down the hall towards the indoor theatre.

Her face was red from tears, and she stormed back into her room, screaming. She was so overwhelmed by the emotion that she couldn't even comprehend the scream. Her instincts told her she should not do this, but she had no choice, so she pulled clothes from her drawer, threw expensive items over, and cried her heart out before falling asleep on the ground from exhaustion.

To put this all into perspective, Adara is one storm that you wouldn't want to walk through, it is only the beginning of a life's inception...Enjoy the journey this book takes you on, it will be one bumpy road.
