10 Watchtower

The Martian Manhunter showed him around the tower and where he will be staying. The place was a lot bigger than the Sanctuary with hundreds of rooms and hallways.

"I might get lost in here if I'm not careful," Lamar mumbled while walking.

The Martain heard his comment and replied "You don't have to worry. Request the cleaning robots where you would like to go and they will direct you."

He turned around started walking again telling Lamar the rundown on the rules of the tower and where he can and can not go.

Lamar listened to J'onn J'onzz intently not wanting to accidentally demolish The Watchtower like he did the Secret Sanctuary.

The Martain led him through many sections of the Tower and soon arrived in the Living quarters. Lamar Observed multiple high-tech doors with League members' symbols on them. He only recognized a few being Mister Miracle, Shazam, Atom, and Supergirls logos.

The Martian soon him around the room that would soon be his own. Most of the furnishing was white in tint with numerous futuristic components here and there. All in All, Lamar was very satisfied with the upgrade.

"Start getting situated in your room. I will train you in these upcoming weeks in combat. so you can master the fundamentals. Before Batman starts forming the team." Martian Manhunter stated before walking away.

Weeks flew by and Martian Manhunter would train Lamar on how to use his powers and his abilities to fight properly. Lamar learned swiftly all thanks to his Daxmite brain processing the actions in slow motion.

J'onn J'onzz was a very good teacher going over multiple Martial art techniques that Lamar didn't fully understand. Every once in a while J'onn J'onzz would spar with Lamar putting what the kid learned to use. Lamar also didn't have to hold back and used his full strength and super speed because the Martian would tank his attacks like nothing. Learning under Martain Manhunter gave Lamar a newfound appreciation towards the superhero occupation.

Besides training, nothing happened. Sometimes, Lamar would see heroes arrive for missions via the zeta tubes and actually spoke to a couple of them. The first time Lamar met Captain Marvel aka Shazam he was surprised.

The guy was so easy to talk to it didn't feel like he was a hero rivaling Superman in strength more like an ordinary teenager. The giant of the man always had a very childish and silly smile on his face. He even led Lamar to His living quarters. The chamber was very Large nearly identical to Lamar's room but it was Red in color.

Shazam sat on the couch and pulled out two controllers.

"Wanna play?" asked Shazam with a childish glint in his eyes.

"Don't you got a job to do or something? ya know as a hero," asked Lamar while grabbing the controller.

"No no, it's cool me and Booster gold made a bet to see who can drink a gallon of milk the fastest. He threw up halfway through so I won. Now he is filling my shift today. The dude is a sore loser, haha," Shazam responded with a deep laugh turning on the console.

"That does seem like something he would do," Lamar replied.

The two talked and played video games for a couple of hours. Lamar tried his best but couldn't

beat Shazam in any of the games they played.

"Aye, go easy on me bruh I'm new to the game," mumbled Lamar after losing another match.

"I am it's just your bad haha," replied Shazam laughing while inserting another disk in the console.

"Nah, forget the game let's have a spar. I've seen your fight against King Kull on TV, you're very strong."

Lamar stood up and proposed. He's been itching for a good fight.

"Ah ok, no problem I can show you my powers too they are pretty sweet." Shazam stood up eager. They both made their way to the gymnasium.

'I've heard that Shazam is as strong as Superman. Sparing him would give me a good idea of where I stand right now in terms of strength compared to the heavy hitters of the justice league," Lamar thought while walking behind the Earth's mightest mortal.

They arrived inside the large gymnasium and took their starting positions.

Shazam standing on one side of the very large ring and Lamar standing on the opposite.

"when this towel drops on the floor we start." Captain marvel stated grabbing a gym towel.

"Alright hurry it up," replied Lamar hurriedly he was extremely eager to fight this legend.

'Ok ok." Shazam replied before tossing the towel in the air.

Time seemed to slow down as Lamar's blood started pumping throughout his body. He realised he only felt such a thrill of excitement when battling.

The towel slowly fell to the floor.

for a fraction of a second, there was only silence before both fighters disappeared from their spots

and reappeared in the middle of the ring.

Boom!

Dooom!

Boom!

Miniature explosions sounded off as their fist connected mid-air creating shockwaves of pressurized air.

Lamar was sending out punches at the speed of sound but Shazam didn't even budge blocking every jab with one of his own.

Lamar was getting more and more excited.

"Your Damn near invulnerable! Feels like I'm punching a God!" Lamar shouted out loud.

"That makes sense because I am a God." replied shazam blocking all the blows.

"I wonder can you take a hit? let's see!" shazam yelled before throwing a punch at Lamar

The punch had the force of a mountain behind it. Cutting through the air like a hot knife through butter.

'Oh shit.' Lamar thought bringing his guard up even more.

In a burst of superspeed, Lamar drove his body to the side using the power from his hips and legs to dodge.

The fist flew right over his head he could feel the hot air sizzling on his forehead from the strength behind the blow.

"This is too much fun.' he thought with a little smile.

Gathering power from his feet up to his shoulders he lowered his body and sent out a powerful uppercut towards shazam's exposed chin.

The ground cracked under the force of his uppercut splitting off in multiple directions like spider webs.

Booooom!

'I got him!' Lamar thought through uneven breaths.
