22 A world without you(corrected)

(Author: I redid the chapter due to a PC problem, also this is the chapter on which I spent the most time I hope you liked it)

Watching how the fragment of Selene had broken apart, Mark could no longer hear anything. In front of his eyes, he could see various things, like Ryuu and Chloe were helping him, Bete being scolded by everyone, or Bell who was still paralyzed in his seat, but none of these could move Mark's view of Selene's fragment.

'God' did not say it directly, but it was understood that without all the fragments Selene's soul cannot be repaired.

'I... failed.'

{Come on Mark we'll be late}

'I was unable to save her.'

{hahaha Mark that tickles}

'Will I no longer be able to hear her voice?'

{Surprise Mark, happy birthday!}

'Will I no longer be able to feel her warmth?'

{Damn Mark, the wedding is starting soon and you're not ready yet}

'Will I never be able to see her smile again?'

{Mark don't leave me! You told me you would love me now and forever! You're a liar!}

'Ah... it's true I made her cry because I was weak. My weakness made her suffer alone. I promised myself to become strong, but here I am again in front of the same scene. '

{You're a liar}

'I left her alone again.'

{You're a liar}

'I was too weak and that was the reason why I lost her.'

{You're a liar}

'If only I had had the strength if I had stopped being a coward.'

[Host even if the fragment is broken do not ...]

By now Mark could neither hear nor see, his heart plunged into a black abyss where he could not feel the slightest heat.

{You're a liar}

'You're right Selene I'm a liar, I don't want to be alone, I don't want to suffer.'

{YOU'RE A LIAR!}

'You're right, even without you I tried to find some happiness, but you know what. A world without you... it's not worth living.'

<<It is believed that the human will is no longer present, forced activation of 'heart of golem' >>

Mark's world turned gray.

<< It is believed that the goal is to become strong... error, this concept is too abstract. Second goal, revenge... goal confirmed. Search for target... Beta Loga, chance to win close combat... 0%, chance to win combat with magic... not proficient enough, request for body overload... 50% chance of death of the body and 30% to seriously injure the target. It is believed that the probabilities are accepted, proceeding begins. >>

--- POV Beta ---

"Bete it's time to stop it" -Hearing Aiz's voice also helped me recover from the hangover. Looking at the scene before my eyes I had only one thought.

'I screwed up.'

"Bete I can understand why you are angry" -Riveria told me looking into my eyes. - "But this does not mean that you can completely give up your reason."

Hearing her words I could not argue. The alcohol made me overdo it, I was just going to make fun of the boy's weakness for losing something he held importantly, but hearing his insult of my tribe, who died from a monster I could not keep my calm.

"I'm... I'm sorry." - Saying those words was tough.

"I'm glad you understood the lesson, but it's not us that you need to apologize to." - Finn told me as he shook his head.

'Today is not a day for my dignity eh' - Turning to the people I made a small bow. - "I am mortified for my behavior, I hope my actions do not make you think badly of the Loki Familia."

Hearing my words my teammates showed a satisfied smile.

"You have to apologize to another person." -The elf told me, as she lifted the boy I hit. - "You broke something of his property at least ..."

Suddenly the elf's speech stopped as she stiffly turned her head towards the boy, but she was not the only one. All our eyes fell on the boy who was now standing as blood continued to pour from his mouth.

His presence made everyone stiffen, what we could hear from him was the absolute nothingness, something that neither human nor monster could exercise.

"His presence has completely changed and his eyes ... are scary." -Said Tiona unconsciously.

Moving my gaze towards his eyes I could see the abyss that made me take a step back. Those eyes did not show the slightest empathy towards this world, but what made my hair stand, was another thing.

'This guy keeps following me with his gaze.'

At one point the 'thing' stretched its arm forward with the palm facing up. For a few seconds I didn't see anything strange but little by little I could see blue lights massing over his palm. The more those lights piled up, the more blood that came out of the body of the 'thing', but his gaze still remained abysmal and no matter how much my instinct told me to escape, his eyes kept me bound.

When the lights stopped piling up, a fist-sized electric sphere formed on the palm of the 'thing' as blood continued to ooze from each orifice.

"Everyone move, it's overloading a spell!" -Riveria, who until now had been watching magic with interest, shouted as her gaze paled.

Perhaps out of battle instinct or Riveria's voice I leaned over to one side to shift the position my chest was in.

'ZAP!'

I heard a deafening sound and the electric ball that was on the palm of the 'thing' hand passed me and pierced the roof.

'Spash'

After the attack, the blood of the 'thing' burst from his body and fell to the ground. The moment he fell I turned to the others, but they were looking at me in horror.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" -They didn't answer me, but they kept looking at a part of my body and moving the view to my left shoulder I could see a hole the size of a fist.

"Ah... AAAAAAAAA!" - The moment I looked at the wound the pain assailed me.

--- POV Loki ---

'How did we end up like this?' - Looking at the scene, I didn't know how to react. On the one hand, I could see how Riveria was using the magic of healing to try to close the wound, while on the other she could see the boy covered in blood being fed with potions to save his life.

"Loki, I managed to save his arm, but he needs to rest." - Riveria told me.

"Good work, now go see the boy."

The moment she examined the boy, Riveria's expression turned ugly.

"During the overload of magic, he damaged his organs, even with my magic I can't save him." - She told me while shaking her head.

'This would be a problem for our reputation... wait, I have an idea.'

"Hey Riveria, see which Familia he belongs to."

But before she could check, I heard the voice of the gray-haired waitress.

"It does not belong to any Familia, Goddess Loki." - She said while looking at me.

'Why does she look at me as if I am his worst enemy? Forget it, now that I know that the boy does not have a Familia there are no problems. '

"Riveria, could you keep him alive?"

"Well yes, but it would only lengthen the suffering." - She said not understanding me, but a flash of realization hit her. "Don't tell me that you..."

"Exactly, we will take the boy to our base and give him the elixir."

"EH! But the elixirs don't just go to the members! " -Both Tione and Tiona asked me confused.

"Tell me, wouldn't you let join a neophyte who manages to hurt a level 6?" - I asked them smiling. Hearing my words they agreed with my words.

"Tsk... I was just distracted." - Bete complained while still suffering from the wound.

"Well guys put his body on a board and carry it, Riveria you take care of keeping him alive." -Without hesitating a second at my commands everyone moved and left the pub.

"Eh... wait goddess Loki you can't ..." -Before the gray-haired waitress could speak I said.

"Don't worry about the damage, we will also refund double the amount." - With those words I ran away, but when I passed in front of the table where the broken stone was present, I could now see it was intact

"Boy, you become more and more interesting." - Laughing to myself, I took the stone and followed my children.

--- POV BELL ---

I'm running again. When the Loki Familia took Mark away, I left too, initially, I was walking but then I started running.

"I haven't been able to do anything." - During the whole scene, I was frozen. I was afraid, the terror blocked me.

'How can I expect to become someone important for Aiz.'

Running towards the dungeon I went down between the various floors fighting the various monsters.

'I am weak... so weak that it makes me scream' -While these thoughts flooded my head I reached the fifth floor, where two shadow warriors were born.

'I have to escape' - The moment I had this thought, the image of who I want to reach appeared in front of me.

"Not anymore... I won't run away anymore! I'll be someone who can be on the level of Aiz Wallenstein, I'll be someone who will fight to the end like Mark. " - Running towards the enemies I swore - "I will become a hero!"

What he had there was the first fight where Bell didn't give up to his fear, and when he will exit the dungeon, he will see the results he has always coveted.
