1 Chapter 1:Chance Meeting

"Excuse me! Sorry!"Kyle exclaims as he pushes past people.

'Oh crap! I'm gonna be late!'

He pushes his legs as much as he can and as fast as they'll take him. His light brown curls bounce as he runs.

He hears his phone ringing in his pocket and he takes it out. It's Leah.

He answers it and the minute he does, he hears his best friend's loud voice snapping at him. "Are you stupid? You really overslept? Come on Kyle! It's your first day at university and you're late!"

"I know, I know!"he says, panting becuase he's out of breathe.

"I'm not your mother. I shouldn't be having to scold you like you're a five year-old!"she snaps again.

"I know, Leah! Geez! I'm sorry."he sighs.

"Right now they're handing out the keys to the dorms. I can get yours if you want."

"Yes, please! You're a lifesaver!"

"Mhm. I don't know what you'd do without me."

"Me niether. I'm almost there. See you later."he hangs up and puts his phone away.

Thanks to Kyle's athletic abilities, running didn't tire him as much as it would if he wasn't athletic. But it was still making him sweat and run out of breathe.

'Great. I'm gonna arrive drenched in sweat. I'm going to smell all day.'

He rolls his eyes at his own thoughts.

He turns the corner and there it is. The university he worked so hard to get into.

Since his parents didn't have a whole lot of money, he got in on a swimming scholarship.

Kyle loved swimming. He has ever since he was a kid. He loved the way the water moved, the way it looked when he went to the lake up at the cabin. Where his Aunt Alyssa lived. It looked so clear and pure.

Whenever Kyle swam in it, all his worries were washed away. It was quiet and peaceful. Nobody could bother him there. It was just him and the water. Nothing else.

And he's a great swimmer. Always has been. His Aunt always said he moved like a dolphin in the water. Gracefully and swiftly.

"Sorry!"he yells after he crashing into someone.

He collapses onto the ground, breathing heavily. His legs feel tired from running so fast.

"I swear I don't know how your mother puts up with you."Leah's voice startles him.

He looks up and the pretty dark skinned girl is staring back. She closes her caramel-brown eyes and scoffs. "Geez, Kyle. You couldn't have slept earlier.

Kyle's big, round, green eyes look up at her. Regret and tiredness fill them. "I'm sorry. I know I screwed up."

"Big time."she stretches her hand out and Kyle takes it. He stands up and sighs.

"Here. I'm not gonna keep doing things like this, alright? You're a grown man."she hands him the key to his dorm.

"I know. Thank you, Leah."he takes it from her and hugs her.

"Kyle, I love to you to death, but you're sweating like a pig."she tosses her amber brown shoulder length hair over her shoulder.

"Ugh. I'm an idiot."he cries.

"Mhm."

"Out of my way, shortie."A voice says from behind Kyle, causing him to jump.

The voice, although rude, sounded soft.

Kyle turns around and crosses his arms. "I'm not short!"

Actually, Kyle has average height. Five foot, twelve. But compared to the guy standing behind him, he was short.

"Sure."the tall guy scoffs. His deep blue eyes cut right into Kyle's soul.

"Wait, you seem familiar."Kyle says, looking him up and down. "What's your name?"

"Oliver. Oliver Brown."a strand of the man's long black hair falls to his face. His curly lashes bring out his cold, dark eyes.

Kyle's eyes widen. "Oli?"

"Don't call me that!"Oliver snaps.

"It's Kyle. Kyle Avery. You used to bully me all the time. For being short."Kyle pouts and rolls his eyes.

"Oh, right. I remember you. You were the top swimmer in our school. Always hated that."more hair falls to his face.

Oliver always tried to be a better swimmer than Kyle. To Be number one. But he couldn't. No matter how much training he did, he could never compare to Kyle's natural talent.

"Oh yeah. You were the asshole who grabbed his butt before the competition to embarrass him."Leah says, annoyance and anger in her voice.

A big, devious grin appears on Oliver's soft, pink lips. "That's right. That was me."

Kyle blushes and his eyes fluster as the embarrassing moment comes back to him. His lips tighten and his peachy skin goes pale. "D-don't remind him, Leah!"

"I still remember it as clear as day."he steps closer to Kyle and keeps grinning. "You know you liked it, shortie."

"N-no! I didn't! I almost lost becuase of that."Kyle crosses his arms and backs away from Oliver.

"That's why I did it, idiot."he keeps walking closer until Kyle's back is against the wall.

"What's your dorm number?"he asks, very close to Kyle. A little to close for comfort. He slowly wraps a hand around Kyle's slim waist.

"I don't know. Leah got the key for me."Kyle says, trying to push him away. But it's no use. Kyle looks like a mouse next to Oliver.

"Really?"Oliver says, tracing his hand down Kyle's pants.

"A-ah stop i-it!"Kyle yells as Oliver grabs his butt. Just like at the competition. Only that time, the grab was quick. This time It's painfully slow.

"I'm not doing anything."Oliver grins. From the way he's standing, you can't tell what he's doing.

"Hey, let him go."Leah snaps.

Oliver squeezes tighter."But I'm not doing anything. I just want to talk to him about swimming."

"A-ahh. O-Oliver!"Kyle says, trying not to moan becuase that would just be extra embarrassing.

Oliver finally let's go and backs away. "I'm gonna have fun ending you."

He walks away with a big grin.

"Ugh, what a bitch."Leah scoffs.

Kyle stands still, not knowing what to do. He feels like he's just melted into pudding.

'Why did he do that? And why did I...not mind it?'

Kyle makes a sour face at his thoughts. Of course he minded it. He hated it. Oliver has always been like that. Invading Kyle's personal space. It's annoying and infuriating.

"U-um I'm gonna go to my dorm."Kyle manages to mutter. He walks away before Leah even has a chance to respond.

When he arrives he's hopeful his roommate isn't here yet. He just needs to sit down and think about what just happened. Actually he needs to forget about it.

'He was just being the usual dick he is.'

He opens the door with his key, but the minute he walks in, he regrets it.

Becuase on the bed that's on the left side is sitting Oliver. Oliver Brown.
