5 Secondary Meditation Rune

In front of the Moonlight Tower, two lofty clay statues stood there, guarding a small door. Their faces were very stiff. As soon as Lance and Polo got close, the weapons in the hands of clay statues directed at them, showing that they would attack anyone who comes close.

"Somharlin!" said Lance chanting the spell that his teacher, the owner of the tower. The spell that he remembered clearly that forgot it was unthinkable.

The clay statues got out the way immediately, and the Moonlight Tower's door slowly opened.

"You wait for me here," ordered Lance as he calmly walked in between the two clay statues.

Although the two clay statues were dull in action, they were, in fact, rare puppet works. In order to make these two clay statues, it's indescribable how much cost did Amman took. And the clay statues, that finally been made, did not fail to live up to his expectations. The power of each clay statue could be compared with that of a silver swordman. Even a patrol expert like Polo couldn't guarantee to win when facing a clay statue one-on-one. After all, the creation of puppet art had no sense of pain. They're just going to go crazy and attacked their opponents, which was always made one felt dreadful.

These common knowledge, Lance still could recall it. When he stepped into the Moonlight Tower, he felt a cool breeze coming in front of him that made him felt very comfortable.

'This is the first-level spell ⟨Touch of Coolness⟩ solidified by Teacher in the hall on the first floor, which can improve people's spirit. for the ones who get its exposure.'

Lance thought.

He came to the lift. The bottom of the lift was installed with a large magic stone, which was crystal clear and shining with a different light.

"Lance? You are here... " The mage's voice came from above as if surprised. The whole tower was under his control. When lance chanted out the spell and walked into the Moonlight Tower, Amman knew everything.

What surprised him was that he did not know why Lance still came here today.

But after all, there was a half-year teacher-student relationship between them. So Amman pondered a little and then said, "Come to upstair."

Lance stepped onto the lift and stood there respectfully.

The lift rumbled, and the magic stone at the bottom was then glowing brightly. With the sound of the chain clasping, the machine began to rise steadily.

'It's amazing. The power of magic unexpectedly can also imitate function from machine technology.' According to Lance's current knowledge about magic, he only knew the one that could provide energy for this lift was the magic stone below. From the magus world's perspective, this stone was not pure and had general value. It was just as good as a driving force for some magical devices.

There were six floors in the Moonlight Tower. Amman usually conducted magus's experiments on the fifth floor. Magus were always diligent. Although Lance got up early, Amman obviously got up earlier than him. Lance reached the fifth floor and found that the Teacher was already carrying out an experiment.

'Diligence! It can not be other than diligence!' Seeing this scene, Lance was very touched, 'If you want to be a mage above the common customs, talent is necessary, but diligence is also indispensable.'

'[Fox], what is the shortest sleep time that my body can bear at present?" asked Lance in his heart.

⟪ The comparison with data has been made based on the host's physique. According to findings computed, six hours of sleep a day is the shortest sleep time you can bear at present.

The attempt to reduce it more than that may cause some permanent injuries to the body that are difficult to repair. ⟫

[Fox] quickly calculated the result.

'Well, I'll only sleep six hours a day then. No more, no less.' Lance made a plan silently, and asked, 'Is there any way to improve my physical fitness quickly?'

Lance couldn't help it as his body was so weak. If he wanted to improve his physical fitness, it seemed that he could only rely on long-term exercise, but Lance was obviously not satisfied with that. He wanted to improve as soon as possible.

After all, his current physical fitness determined whether he could turn on those sub chips at the end of the gene chain. If he could turn on some practical chips, it would not only increase his strength but also be beneficial to his magic study.

⟪ For the moment, there is no other way that can be found. There are different principles in this world than from those of the earth. At present, [Fox] is trying to collect information about the world. In this collecting process, if the way to improve the host's physical fitness is found, [Fox] will immediately propose it. But the authorization to scan the surrounding environment with the help of the host's vision, touch, auditory, and olfactory system is needed to be granted. ⟫

'No problem. All the authorities are open to you. Be sure to build this world's basic database quickly.' Lance made his decision without hesitation.

Through Lance's memory, it could be concluded that this was a world of the jungle.

His father, Lord Viscount, was a strong man who ignited the fire, so he could be said on the strong side. The first lady's son, his brother, Griffin, also inherited his father's talent and was very hopeful to ignite the fire and became a gold swordsman. In the territory, although Viscount would protect him, but relying on others to survive made Lance uneasy.

He had to improve his strength quickly.

After the authorization was given, [Fox] began to scan and collect all the information that Lance came into contact with. Lance himself, however, was waiting respectfully. Amman apparently forgot about his disciple when he started the experiment. The old mage was so busy that Lance could only wait quietly.

Four hours later, the sun rose high. Lance, who waiting with empty stomach, finally got to see Amman to look up at him.

The old mage put down the experiment at hand. Maybe the result of the experiment made him satisfied. He said to his disciple kindly, "Lance, why did you come so early today?"

That was only nonsense Amman used as he didn't know what to say. After all, the Viscount decided to send Lance to the clergy camp last night after asking his advice. He could do nothing but show his sympathy and pity with his disciple.

Lance smiled slightly and said, "Nothing, I just came to see you, Teacher. By the way, I have one more thing to ask you."

'I'm afraid this kid doesn't know how much he will suffer in the clergy camp!' Amman sighed in his heart, and the pity in his eyes was deeper as he said, "Just say it. If there is anything I can do for you, I won't refuse."

Lance said solemnly, "Teacher, I want to learn the secondary meditation rune again."

On hearing this request, Amman was a little displeased. "Lance, I think you should give up, knowing how your talent is, after last night's experience."

Lance begged, "Teacher, give me another chance. I really only need one last chance."

Amman frowned and said, "What's the use of teaching you again? You should know that the runes of secondary meditation are not written by ordinary people. I have taught you for half-year and you still have not succeeded in that half-year. Do you think that as long as I demonstrate it again, you will succeed doing it?"

Lance took a deep breath, suddenly knelt down on one knee, and sincerely said, "Teacher, I know that my talent is not good enough to let you and my father down. I also know that in a while, I will be sent to the clergy camp, I'm afraid that I will never see you and other family members again in this life. Before that happen, I just hope you can give me another chance. I just need one chance."

Amman was a little moved.

He picked Lance up, pondered for a moment, then waved his sleeves and walked to the other room as he said, "Follow me."

Lance was relieved at last. The hardest part was finally over. If Amman would not show him the secondary meditation rune again, he would have no chance to write it. Because in the original owner's memory, this rune was simply a blank!

If magus wanted to cast a spell, they needed to take many complex steps. The first step was to gather mana. Some people were born with mana, and those people were geniuses among the magus.

Most of the magus were ordinary people who had no mana at all. If they wanted to gather mana, they had to rely on meditation.

Meditation itself was a kind of spell, a very special kind of spell ー the reason why it was special was because it was the only spell not driven by mana, only driven by the spiritual power of the mage; and the reason why it still called a spell, because, like all spell, it needed three steps to learn and master it.

The first step was to memorize the spell rune.

The second step was to use mental power to outline the exact spell runes in the brain.

The third step is to permanently solidify the outlined spell runes in the brain.

After magus went through these three steps, it could be said that they really mastered the spell. Memorizing runes was just the first step in learning spells.

'This guy has been studying for half-year and can't even remember a rune. His memorizing ability is really weak!' Lance couldn't help complaining, but he also knew that magic runes and common characters were very different, only people with enough mental power could remember them. When people saw magic runes, if they tried to memorize them forcibly, they would faint and spat blood, and if they were serious, they would die suddenly. All these were due to their lack of mental power and inability to control magic runes.

The previous body's owner obviously did not have enough mental power. That reason made Lance would naturally be worried, but he had his own ingenious plan. As long as the teacher explained it again, there should be no problem to the point like in last night.

At present, both teacher and student entered the study one by one.

Amman didn't speak much, but he just solemnly took out a piece of animal skin. The material of this piece of animal skin was very good, and it had a colourful lustre when exposed to light.

"This is the fur of Andy Giant Mouse. It's a relatively low-level magic material. It has a good absorption of magic factors, but it's still very precious for low-level magus." There were some memories about that in Lance's mind. After all, the former owner didn't learn for nothing in half a year. But all of that memories still too cheap for Lance.

"Lance, take a good look."

said Amman in a deep voice. Lance hurriedly stood behind the teacher and watched everything carefully. At the same time, he ordered in his heart,

'Do the record. The target is this rune.'

⟪ Order received! [Fox] will begin to record. ⟫

Lance took a breath of relief and then keeping his eyes on Amman's every move.

The old mage laid the hide flat and held a black swan feather pen in his hand. He opened a jar of special ink, lightly moistened the tip of the pen with the magic ink in it, and began to concentrate on writing the runes of secondary meditation.
