6 First Night

The night was different. The sky had a blue moon illuminating the darkened skies. The wind was very cold.

The familiar death god was now atop the rooftop of the 106 Skyscraper in the crossing of Shibuya. The raven was perched on his shoulder.

"That was very cryptic of you to leave such a message to her." The raven said.

Osiris, holding on to the lamp that he has, scouted for souls which were lost and needed to be guided.

"The talk with Fate is still pending you know." The avian said.

"I know." He replied to the bird.

Osiris floated down to the street. It would seem that he was not seen by the regular people buzzling about.

He felt something vibrate in one of the pockets of his trench coat. The Raven quirked at him.

"It looks like someone is calling." It said.

"I told her to stay out of this." He replied to the avian.

"You really do not know about humans, do you?" The raven replied with sarcasm in its tone.

Osiris did not reply to it.

"C'mon pick your phone up!" Elle said. She was trying her hardest to contact the black-haired death god.

She then threw her phone on the bed along with herself on it. The blonde was dressed in a white tank top and short blue shorts. Her hair was tied into a pony tail.

"Who the hell does he think he is?! I can do what I want!" she said whilst grabbing her teddy bear and subsequently throwing it against the wall.

The blonde blushed a bit as she continued to think about him.

"N-no!" she shouted. "It's not possible." Elle continued to say.

"You've really been paying attention to the new kid. Maybe you like him." She heard her friend's voice, Mion, in her head.

"Do I really?" she asked.

"Oh, What the hell!" Elle shouted once more. She grabbed her phone and dialed Ozi's number one more time.

"He can't just leave me a cryptic message like that!" she shouted.

The number was ringing, whilst she waited for the phone to be answered and right on cue the other line picked up.

Osiris was strained to pick up after all as he answered the incoming call from his blonde classmate.

"What do you want?" he then asked her in a bit of a pissed off manner. He had just finished collecting another wayward soul with his lamp.

"Why weren't you picking up?!" Elle said to him.

"I have no obligation to pick up your calls." Osiris said to her in response. "Besides, I am busy." He added.

"You can't talk like that to me! I lent you the phone that you happen to be using!" she said in response.

Elle felt a cold wind around her.

"Then you can have it back." She heard the voice of Ozi personally coming from behind her.

She shrieked while the Soul Reaver smirked at her.

"Holy shit!" she screamed. Osiris was in her room and the raven too. "You can't just barge in my room like that!" she added.

"Apparently he can." The raven said to her in response. "It seems that you had interrupted master's nightly duties." It added.

"Nightly duties?" Elle asked the raven and Ozi to some extent.

Osiris walked up to her room's window. He opened it and felt that the wind was extra cold tonight. He raised up his lamp and saw that there were lost souls in the area so he siphoned them towards the lamp that he held.

"Oh." Elle said.

"It's the only time of day where he can use his powers at full capacity." The raven replied.

Elle saw blue spiritual energies circling the lamp that Osiris held.

"Soul Reavers have limited powers here in the Human world." The death god began to explain. "Unlike in the Spirit Worlds." He explained.

"So, this is the reason that you did not want me to contact you?" Elle asked him.

"Yes." Osiris said. "Stop acting like you're my girlfriend." He added coldly.

The blonde-haired girl flustered when she heard him say that.

"You're full of yourself!" she shouted as she was about to give the death god a piece of her mind.

A cold wind continued to blow through Elle's window. Osiris felt a faint presence which was a bit different from the other souls that he had been collecting. His eyes shone a bright amber as he channeled some sort of energy around his hands.

Elle was stopped in her tracks when she saw what had appeared outside her window.

"Mind if I drop in?" a voice said and what had come after it was a trail of ice which was going for the blonde.

Osiris immediately rushed towards Elle and grabbed her. He jumped outside the window and landed on the outskirts of her house.

"What was that?!" she shouted as he let her down.

Osiris stood and he flicked his right wrist. His trademark scythe appeared from the blue flame energies that he conjured.

Elle looked at the death god and saw blue flame spirit energy circling him. His eyes shone vibrantly beyond the flames that he was conjuring. This scared her a bit.

"You haven't lost your touch Osiris." The voice said as he appeared opposite the two of them. He conjured the blue winds of spirit energy around him in contrast to Osiris's own energy.

Osiris looked towards the direction of the origin of the blue winds.

There was a hooded man who had on spiked shoulder pads. His cloak/cape was covering most of his body but a silver broad sword was visible on his left hand. The man pushed the cloak aside and revealed his dark armor which resembled that of a knight's. He pulled his hood down and revealed a man with short slicked blue hair. He wore an eyepatch on his left eye while his right eye was green in color.

He had the same youthful appearance as Osiris.

Elle saw that he was different from her prior assailant two nights ago.

"Your Youkai pressure is still strong." The one-eyed man said to him.

"Arawn Kincaid." Osiris replied with a serious look on his face. "To whom do I owe the honor?" he asked with a hint of sarcasm.

The blonde looked at the death god she knew. It would seem that he and this Arawn had known each other.

"Is he the same as the other guy?" Elle asked the Soul Reaver.

"No." the Raven replied. "This one's the real deal." It said.

"What does that mean?" Elle asked.

"He is a Soul Reaver." Osiris said in response. He readied himself for a fight whilst charging up his Youkai pressure.

"Indeed. But though the similarities end there. I follow all the rules unlike you." Arawn replied.

A battle between Soul Reavers began to brew.
