5 Day One

It was a rainy Friday morning and Ozi was running late as he had class today in school. Raindrops were falling on his head and his school uniform which consisted of a white polo shirt which was untucked, and black pants was soaking wet along with his book bag.

He ran towards a building which looked like a shopping center and took shade from the rain underneath it. The death god checked his watch and sighed.

"Darn it. 8.30" he said out loud. "I might not make it to class." he said

"You are smart anyway so maybe you can just cut." he heard the voice of his raven from his ankh necklace.

"Ha ha." he replied. "If I am going to fit in to this world, I must do what the humans do." he replied to the voice.

"We still have to talk about the ramifications of your actions with Fate." The voice of his raven said to him.

"Whatever." he replied.

Whilst he was waiting for the rain to let up he saw a familiar person to him. Her face was a bit obscure due to the hoodie that she was wearing but Ozi had a feeling who it was. She was wearing the same school uniform as him with the hoodie.

"You know its normal for us humans to leave our house with an umbrella when it rains." Her voice said. It was Elle and she stood beside the death god.

Ozi did not reply. Instead he was fixated to her. She lifted the hood from her hoodie and revealed her long blonde hair. Her eyes were clear blue as the water on the seas, her face was angelic as she sighed. For some reason, Osiris could not take his eyes off of her.

"Stop staring at her like a creep master." the raven teased him. It was only Osiris who heard his voice.

"Be quiet." he replied. This got the attention of Elle and she looked towards him. Osiris on the other hand faced away hiding a bit of his redness.

"I didn't say anything." she replied to him.

"It's nothing." Ozi said. "Just some buzzards talking." he added.

"So where is the raven? Mr. Blackie?" the blonde asked him.

Osiris chuckled a bit.

"Mr. Blackie?" he asked.

"She's not very creative, now is she?" The raven said

"The raven's away." he replied to her.

The rain pitter pattered hard as Ozi looked at his watch.

"Shit we're gonna be late to class." he sighed. The blonde whom he was with was a bit calm though.

Elle smiled at him.

"First period is a free cut. Our classes do not start till 10am. Our teacher called in sick today." she said to him.

"And how do you know this?" He asked her in response.

She showed him her smart phone.

"Class announcements are made through our Social Media message groups. You know, LifePage?" she asked him.

Osiris looks confused.

"I have no idea what that is." he said to her. Being a sentient death god, he does not know such simple things.

Elle sighed. She opened her book bag and took out an object which looked like a smart phone and handed it to the death god beside her.

"Here." she said to him. "I figured that you didn't know the first thing about the human world aside from the basics, so I got this from my house. It's my old phone, I rarely use it now so you can hang on to it for the mean time." she added.

Osiris took the phone from her, but he still had a hard time using it. Elle giggled at him for struggling.

"What's so funny?" he asked her whilst facing away.

"It's not that hard to use a smart phone." she said to hm. "I'll teach you later during lunchbreak." she said with a smile.

"All right." He replied.

The death god looked up the sky and saw that the rain was letting up a bit. The skies were still dark though.

"Well then, the rain has let up." Elle said. "Let's get going." she added with a smile.

The two of them walked onwards to school.

*class bell rings indicating it was time for lunch*

"Okay class don't forget to submit your 10-page essay tonight on the message boards." the teacher said to them.

"Yes ma'am" the students said in unison and they were dismissed by their teachers since it was already lunchbreak.

Elle and Ozi were now at the usual spot, which is the school rooftop, and the former was teaching the latter on how to use the phone which she had lent her.

"See? It's that easy." she said to him.

"Right." he replied. Osiris was getting the hang of using the phone a bit.

"Always remember the email address and password you used in logging in to your LifePage account. They are more important than the scythe you carry around with you." she jokingly said to him.

"I never carry a scythe around with me." he retorted as he fiddled with the phone. "But thanks for teaching me this."

Right on cue, Elle's friend Mion joined the two on the rooftop.

"I see you're spending time with the new kid again." her friend said to her with a sly smile.

Elle turned a bit red.

"What of it? He's a new student and he needs help with some things." she replied.

"Funny. I've never seen her this assertive before." Mion joked.

Osiris stood at the edge feeling the wind. The sky was still a bit cloudy but there was no signs of rain.

"Since there are three of us here, I got us three pieces of melon bread." Mion added. She gave one to Elle and tossed one to the black-haired student.

The death god caught his piece of melon bread with ease.

"Nice reflexes." Elle said to him.

He did not reply. Instead he opened the melon bread and began to eat it. His eyes opened wide and was a bit surprised.

"This is good!" Ozi said. "What is this?" he asked.

Mion looked at him a bit funny. Elle face palmed at this instance.

"What? You have never eaten melon bread before?" The brown-haired girl asked him. "Weird." she added.

"He uh." Elle tried to say. "He was home schooled!" she replied.

"Pretty sure you can ask someone else to buy your melon bread outside." Mion retorted slyly.

Mion then looked at Elle. She was a bit uneasy it is as if she was hiding something.

"So where were you from again?" she asked Ozi.

The death god did not reply. He looked away instead and made contact with the blonde student. Shortly after he replied.

"I am formerly from Kanagawa. I just moved here a few months ago." Ozi replied to her.

"So you really never had melon bread?" Mion asked but right on cue the school bell rang.

"Oh my would you look at that." Elle said. "It's time for class again!" she said as she dragged Ozi and Mion and the three of them rushed to class.

Class had ended in the Seiden Campus. Osiris had his book bag hanging from his left shoulder and he walked on towards the campus gate with his hands in his pocket.

"That was quite a fun day wasn't it?" the voice of the raven said to him. The death god did not reply.

"Ozi wait!!" he heard a girl shout to him. He looked back and saw that it was Elle.

The Soul Reaver sighed.

"My, my, it looks like you have made a special friend." The raven said to him in a teasing manner.

"Shut it." He said.

Elle panted a bit as she caught up with the Soul Reaver. She then smiled at him. Osiris faced to the side.

"What is it?" he asked.

"Nothing much, I mean maybe we can walk together whilst going home." She said with a smile to him.

"Feel free to do as you like." Osiris said in response as the two began walking.

Elle observed him. She learned that aside from him having supernatural powers, he seemed to be a normal person.

"So aside from school do you actually have a life?" she asked him. "Being a Soul Reaver and all." She added.

"Nothing much really." He said to her in response. "I am just a spirit fleeting away in this world." He smirked as he said that.

Elle sweatdropped. She did not understand what she meant.

The two of them found themselves near the shrine of Hachiko. This would indicate that they were nearing the train station.

Whilst the two of them were walking, Osiris stopped and this caught the attention of Elle.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Whatever happens, do not attempt to contact me tonight." Osiris said to her. His amber eyes looked very serious.

It was somewhat a cryptic message from the death god which stuck in her head for a while.
