11 Hunter union

"You are under a temporary arrest before the government finds out what happened here," the guard spoke while putting restricting handcuffs around Kevin's hands.

The handcuffs were made of a special material that affected the mana inside the person, preventing them from using their powers.

Kevin didn't resist and allowed the handcuffs to wrap around his hands, as it was impossible to fight against these two guards.

Oddly enough, he still felt like he could summon his servants after putting on the restrictive handcuffs, which allowed him to relax a bit since he wasn't completely defenseless.

The guards surrounded him from both sides, leaving no chance to even attempt escape, and they began to move towards the gate. Kevin didn't know where he was being taken, but it was probably one of the following three possibilities:

A prison.

One of the three strongest guilds.

Or the union of hunters.

Of the three, Kevin least wants to go to the Hunters' Association precisely because it is too powerful.

It controls the hunters throughout Japan and has its headquarters spread throughout every city. They restrain every guild, which means they can also warp them at any time, they hand out cards after a throughout checkout, but most importantly the association manages marketability, which basically makes Japan their monopoly.

If they wanted to kill him on the spot, there wouldn't be much trouble since they could keep the news dead in the dark.

He's also not sure what happened in the forest, except that it was probably the work of that horrible monkey.

But that only makes the situation worse, because who in their right mind would believe that a few feet tall monkey would be able to do such a thing.

If Kevin said anything about this monkey, the association would assume he is hiding something.

'This is such a headache' Kevin thought as they walked out of the forest.

Numerous amount of people stood just beyond the gate, reporters were trying to squeeze in, hoping to at least get a photo for their headlines.

But chunky men in suits blocked the way, not moving in the slightest.

Kevin immediately understood who they were, his worst guess became the truth.

"We'll take him from here," a gentleman in a suit said, stepping forward.

It was a young man with light blue eyes and pale skin. He had light orange hair that was carefully slicked back.

Despite his appearance, Kevin knew, it's yet another powerhouse.

"Uncuff him," the man said to the guards.

"Bu--"

"I said take off the handcuffs" the man repeated as a hint of his aura spread.

The guards although unwillingly, took off the handcuffs, finally letting Kevin stretch out his wrists.

"Follow me," the man declared as he turned and opened the door of a dark sedan.

Kevin didn't resist and hopped into the car. However, a strange sight opened up for him. There was already a mature lady sitting there in a cross-legged position. She had green eyes and medium black hair tied into two double tails that reached her mid-thigh. She wore a tight white undershirt that revealed her two huge lemons.

She was fairly young, which meant she shouldn't be lacking in talent either, since she was already working in the hunters' union.

Both Kevin and she fixed each other with their gazes, but no one spoke. They just stared at each other as if meeting their lifelong opponent.

The gentleman with the orange hair stirred them from staring at each other as he sat down next to the lady while signaling the driver to move.

He pulled out a stack of documents from the trunk and began flipping through the pages until eventually stopping.

"Kevin Gray, lost parents at 5, first stage Human, no god power," he dedicated himself until looking at Kevin, "We can do this the hard way or the easy way."

'It seems that I underestimated their power, finding that much information in just a few minutes is definitely no easy task' Kevin thought before muttering, "I'm sure you won't believe me, but I don't know anything"

"So the hard way" the man spoke as he looked at the mature lady, "Natasha, it's your part of the job"

"Yes Adam" she replied in a wicked tone as if something good was about to happen.

'I don't think they're going to torture me' Kevin thought seeing how Natasha sat down next to him.

"'Take my hand,' she said while extending her palm forward.

"No."

"Wha--"

"I will answer your questions if you promise me two things," Kevin requested.

This whole situation is too mysterious, he doesn't know what can happen if he takes her hand, maybe she can read the minds of those she touches. If that is her power then this situation is disastrous.

"What makes you think you can demand any guarantees?" spoke Adam as an angular aura spread around the limo.

"Well, first of all my girlfriend is Sophia Dolton, I'm sure you know who she is"

"Do you really believe Rain Hawks would dare attack us?"

"No, but if something happened to me, it would cause a lot of inconvenience or even possible threats for your association, don't you think?" Kevin replied as his aura spread through the limousine, trying to defend himself.

'Kevin....is this how an introverted orphan should behave?' Adam mused as he retrieved his aura back, "State your conditions"

"First, promise me you'll only ask questions regarding the forest, nothing else."

"Although I want to know how you got a hunter card when you're a 1 Level Human, that's plausible"

"Secondly, I want to know her god power, with material evidence."

"HAHAHA, don't you think you're asking too much, boy?" Natasha suddenly interrupted their conversation as she smiled wickedly.

"I'm sure we don't have that much of an age difference," Kevin countered with a smile. He hated it when someone called him a child, after all he is older than them.

"Oh ... Are you flirting with me?", Natasha spoke as she leaned forward letting Kevin take a better outlook on her body.

"Enough Natasha, just show him your card," Adam said hastily.

"Meh, you are no fun, Adam," Natasha replied with an already faded grin.

She pulled a silver card from her back pocket, indicating that she had already broken through to the superhuman level.

[Natasha Ilin]

[Silver Badge Hunter]

[God Power: Lie Detector]

'HAHAHA', Kevin laughed wryly inside of this head, 'This just made my circumstances much better'.

If she has the ability to predict a lie, then Kevin can just tell the truth, they would still have to believe him.

'It seems that my luck is good'

"All right, ask the questions," Kevin stated as he placed his hand on Natasha's palm.

Adam didn't gush any nonsense and asked:

"Did you have any involvement in the abnormality in the forest?"

"No"

"Truth" Natasha spoke while Kevin felt a slight dent on his hand as if he was being stung by a bee.

"Do you know anything about this incident?"

"Yes, rather, I know the one who may have caused this."

Adam's gaze sharpened instantly as he murmured, "Who?"

"It was a monkey"

"Wha..."

"Truth" Natasha beamed, not really wanting to believe this statement herself.

Adam leaned back, placing his hand on the forehead. With each passing moment, the situation gets worse and worse. A monkey strong enough to cause such a crater and destroy so many beasts? He began to wonder if he should retire already.

"Alright, last question."

"Is he stronger than me?" Adam grinned as his suit began to disintegrate in pieces and an enormous amount of white aura spread around the car, alarming Kevin.

The aura was indeed mighty, but it didn't feel anything like that of the monkey's. Adam's aura wasn't even on par with the old man's, it wasn't massive enough.

"Yes, at least by half," Kevin said the truth right off the bat, forcing Adam to retreat his aura back. The answer made the atmosphere in the car awkward as even the ever-smiling Natasha muttered in horror:

"Tru-truth"

"Hahaha, an ape stronger than the seventh level of superhumans was always hiding in the woods" Adam exclaimed with a smirk on his face, "It seems that a reinforcement will be needed"

"Sir, are you going to storm the forest?" asked Kevin with an expectant look.

After all, this ape could be a possible threat to the city.

"Kiddo, the situation is more complicated than you think, all the people who came into the forest that day died, every animal you saw lying on the ground had their cores stolen and there was even an --" Natasha started to explain everything until remembering that Kevin wasn't even a part of the union, which forced her to shut up.

'It does seem more complicated than that,' Kevin thought as he let go of Natasha's hand, which was getting sweaty with time.

"'Kevin, I thank you for your cooperation, but we will have to excuse ourselves,' he said, trying to be as nice as possible.

Kevin understood his insinuations and got up to leave the already stopped vehicle, but before he could take another step, Adam threw a strange board at him.

Kevin caught the card with one hand as he looked at the indistinct text on it.

"If you need any help in the future, just contact this number," Adam said while waving his hands in farewell.

"Bye Bye, kiddo," Natasha spoke with a huge grimace on her face.

Kevin simply smiled at them before jumping out of the vehicle.

"He is an interesting person," Adam said, yawning slightly.

"Indeed if he had more talent, I would probably take him for myself" Natasha replied lecherously.

"... he is a minor and has a girlfriend, dumbass"

"Age is just a number"

Adam didn't answer anymore, speechless at such behavior from his partner. He promptly dialed a number on his phone and held it near the ear.

"Hello, is General Okura still in Hiroshima?"
