18 Deal

[Servant: Wolf]

[Cultivation: Human Stage 4]

[God Power: Empowering]

"Awesome," Kevin exclaimed with a deep breath.

His theory was indeed correct.

Even servants can become stronger by devouring crystals, which also means they can evolve into even stronger beings.

However, this process is quite restrictive as Kevin's mana drains at an immense speed. This also implies that it is definitely not possible to force his servants to devour during combat.

At least for now, because his mana storage is too tiny.

"Still, it will certainly be a boost to my power," Kevin stood up from the bed as the vivid rays of moonlight reflected off his pale hair, "Since I'm already full of energy, there's no reason to stay in the hospital anymore."

Kevin picked up all his equipment, leaving only the already empty backpack in place.

He planned to stealthily leave this place without checking out, as it would surely be an exhausting process.

However, a sudden knock on the door forced him to stop.

If the person behind the door was the nurse or a doctor, Kevin would surely just run away.

But the uneasy feeling Kevin felt indicated that the person was strong, which left him wondering who it was.

After all, Titan and the orphans had already left.

Querying, he slowly walked towards the door opening it with his left hand.

"You sure are taking your sweet time opening that door, Kevin," a girlish voice echoed through the room as the familiar woman rushed in, "or should I say Z-E-L-G-I-U-S"

"Natasha?" Kevin proclaimed in confusion,"What the hell are you doing here?"

"We're here for you," another person entered the room.

"Adam...I've already told you everything I know, if you want anything else, I'm not the person to ask," Kevin replied as he moved towards the window again with an annoyed expression.

However, Natasha blocked the way.

"I suggest you stop, I'm sure you don't want your dear friend to find out that you are a hunter"

"Are you threatening me?" Kevin asked while killing intent glimmered in both of his eyelids.

"Hoho, how scary" Natasha's eyes also shimmered with killing intent that completely overwhelmed Kevin's.

'Tch...even this woman is stronger than me' Kevin thought before listening to Adam further.

"We're just suggesting that you hear our offer first and then make a decision."

"What kind of offer are we talking about?" Kevin sat down on the bed, exhausted.

He didn't like interacting with people, especially not when it involved some sort of contract. After all, Kevin was more of a quiet guy.

Keeping his mouth shut never brought any problems.

"Shall we start over?" Adam also sat down on a wooden chair next to Kevin while taking out some papers.

"I'll make it simple: do you want to participate in the Forest of Death invasion?"

"No" Kevin replied.

Why would he be crazy enough to go there again while this ape was still alive? After all, if he could create such a crater, then surely he could do it again.

Unless the benefits provided by the Hunters' Association were solid and the people participating in a raid would be stronger than that ape.

"I wouldn't be so quick to refuse, first of all, the protection is guaranteed and you'll ..." Adam paused for a second as if he didn't believe himself, "0,1 percent of the cores gained by the raid."

'0.1 percent?' thought Kevin as he did some quick math in his head.

This kind of percentage is certainly not small, after all, there must be more than a thousand beasts in this forest.

Kevin would accept this kind of offer, however, he still has a few doubts.

Why would the hunter's association go so far as to give him such an unsuitable contract?

That's the reason, he doesn't like discussing anything serious, especially with smart asses.

You never know when they are plotting something.

"What's the reason for such an offer?" asked Kevin, watching Adam's face closely so as not to miss any change or fluctuation in emotion.

Kevin wouldn't be fooled.

"I can't tell you the reason until you accept the deal," Adam said, "However, I can assure you that it's nothing dangerous and involves your god's power"

'Involves my god power?" thought Kevin while placing his hand on the chin.

Kevin simply can't refuse such a proposal.

Indeed, it does include danger, but the ratio of risk to reward is clearly pointed toward the latter.

"I accept, but under one condition," Kevin smiled at the duo, "I want 0,2 percent"

*Rip*

The white paper suddenly split in two as veins popped on Adam's forehead. Even the calmly observing Natasha at his side had a complicated expression.

"I suppose my god's power is necessary for this raid, so I consider that a fair amount," Kevin repeated with innocent eyes.

Of course, that wasn't fair to the association. No matter how useful his god art would be, the majority of the raid would still be done by the association.

So asking for 0,2 percent of the total amount was definitely robbery.

However, Kevin doesn't care.

"We accept your demands," Adam called out unwillingly before rising from the broken chair, "Our representative will come for you tomorrow."

"Good night," Kevin waved his hand before turning to face the windows.

Adam just smiled, walking away with Natasha following him from behind.

Despite his gentle face, Kevin managed to notice a slight sorrow in his appearance, as if he had lost something important.

Kevin chuckled a little as he watched the two of them leave. He actually never thought they would accept such requirements, after all, Kevin was asking for too much.

However, they did agree, which indicated that Kevin's role in this invasion was quite important.

"Since the raid is tomorrow," Kevin straightened his back, "Let's just stay here."

"997"

"998"

"999"

*Poof*

"1000"

As the last number left Kevin's mouth, he fell to the ground in exhaustion. The morning light fell from the sky, reflecting from Kevin's sweaty body.

Kevin couldn't even take a short nap all night long because of the fear and excitement before the raid. That's why he spent the whole night training.

Some people would say that it is absurd to exercise so much before such an important event. However, for Kevin, it's different.

Even back in the army, training all night was not a problem. On the contrary, it made his body relax and enter the most focused state he could ever achieve.

"That's enough for today, I should get ready," Kevin composed his back while putting on the black t-shirt.

He hopped onto the bed to at least get some rest before heading into the hunter's association.

Soon, after a few hours, as Kevin had expected, a person entered the room.

It was another giant whose body was wrapped in a tight black and white suit. Although he was tall, he did not yet reach the frightening size of the Titan.

The person bowed slightly in greeting, which allowed Kevin to take a closer look at his features.

Half of his face had a deep reddish stain that looked rather sinister. Both of his eyes were nearly covered by the black pair of glasses, but Kevin felt an uneasy feeling emanating from underneath them.

"I'm Adam's representative, Miki Kazuo," he said, extending his hand towards the side, "Please follow me."

Kevin simply nodded and moved towards the exit.

The nurses and doctors did startle when they saw their recent patient and a giant walking down the corridor, but said nothing.

All of them had already been informed by the Hunter's Association that Kevin doesn't need a checkout.

Even though some had doubts, there was nothing they could do, after all, the Hunter's Association is the ruler of this city.

With such thoughts, everyone followed the disappearing in the distance Kevin, who, on the other hand, was feeling rather great.

Exercising was truly a good idea.

Kevin refueled enough energy and managed to restore his mana to its fullest.

Kevin's current state was probably the best he had ever felt since waking up in this world.

"Get in" Miki Kazuo opened the door of the familiar limo while Kevin jumped in without much thought.

Kevin liked this kind of people, less talk, more action.

Miki himself sat in the front, starting the engine and driving off.

The roads weren't as crowded today, so the journey was peaceful. Kevin managed to chat with Sophia a bit and reassure her that everything was fine.

It was getting on Kevin's nerves to make lies every time, so he decided to tell Sophia all about the hunters and the arena.

Yes, it would surely freak her out, however, it's better if she just knows the truth so she wouldn't be so nervous about Kevin's constant disappearances.

"Follow me," Miki stopped the engine, stepping out of the car.

Kevin did as he was told and hopped out of the car as well.

A huge skyscraper that reached a frightening height was stationed right in front of Kevin's eyes. The transparent windows from all sides made it look similar to the Arena of the Gods.

Kevin followed the walking Miki to the modern building while glancing around.

The building inside looked even more advanced.

Various types of machines were placed around with distinguished professors working on them.

The interior was completely white with a few black stripes there and there.

Mika and Kevin stepped into the elevator as it began to move upwards. Kevin wasn't sure what floor they were going to.

However, the ride was long enough for Kevin to predict that they were heading to the last floor.

*Ding*

With a soft sound, the doors opened, revealing the small room inside. Despite the size of the room, there were many people spread around it, all staring at the newcomer.

Kevin immediately felt an uneasiness, as if the stares were stabbing him from all sides.

However, he didn't back away and stepped forward, causing everyone to nod in agreement.

"Since everyone is here, let's begin"
