10 Ape

"Thwack"

"Thwack"

"Don't slow down Wolf, we need to be faster, some beasts are probably already on their way here," Kevin shouted as he quickened his pace.

The wolf sped up as well, even to the point of activating his god power.

"I'm sure the hole is big enough," Kevin said, washing his hands of the dirt.

"Cover it with leaves," Kevin ordered as he turned to the dead beauty. He took her into his hands and placed her against the rock, right next to the almost concealed chamber.

"Alright, that's enough," Kevin said while canceling the summoning, he went towards a bush and hid inside, trying to dissolve his presence as much as possible.

'I'm sure the trap will work if some beasts will get attracted by the blood,' Kevin thought, surveying the surroundings once again.

No matter how intelligent magical beasts are, Kevin is sure that if a hungry monster sees a free snack, it would take it without hesitation.

Some people might say that using a dead body as bait is cruel, even more of such a beautiful lady, but Kevin has a different opinion. When someone dies, their soul leaves the body, leaving behind only the material in which they previously resided.

And if that material can be used to benefit someone, why not? He's seen this sort of thing happen many times, especially during World War II. After all, humans are greedy and Kevin is no exception.

*Hoowwll*

The scream of a wild beast snapped Kevin out of his thoughts as he looked at the incoming beast with a smile.

'I'm glad I managed to dig the hole in time,' he mused, looking at the hapless victim. However, something happened that Kevin had not expected, there were....two beasts.

'Tchh....I'm quite unlucky, both of them are humanoid wolves too, it seems my army will consist of three wolves for now' Kevin lamented in his head, 'Well, I shouldn't complain.'

The two wolves moved slowly, scanning the vicinity for any danger, but when they saw a lifeless girl lying on the ground, their eyes lit up with a crimson light.

Without hesitation, they both rushed towards the corpse.

But suddenly, the ground beneath them disappeared causing them to fall into a deep trap.

"As I thought, it's hard for humanoid wolves to survive, so they're practically always hungry," Kevin beamed with enthusiasm on his face.

Even though he wanted to add other types of Magical Beasts to his army, two more wolves aren't bad either.

Kevin summoned his loyal servant, who instantly formed up beside him. He unsheathed his blade and handed it to the dark wolf.

His servant as if taking something holy into his hands, knelt down on the ground, extending his paws forward.

Kevin simply smiled and placed the dark sword in his palms, making it look even more ferocious.

"Destroy them," Kevin ordered, pointing at the struggling wolves that were trying to break free. Unfortunately for them, Kevin made sure the hole was steep enough. While it might be possible to jump out if they worked together, Kevin was sure the human-level wolves weren't that smart.

Wolf clutched the sword with his hand as he began to grow taller. A dark aura surrounded him, making him almost invisible in the dim rays of the moon.

He leaped into the hole like some kind of madman, executing a low swing in the air.

*Thrust*

Wolf pierced right through the opponent's forehead spraying blood all over the area. The dead wolf's partner gritted his teeth in agony as he bit directly into Wolf's head, forcing Wolf to disappear from the spot and leaving only a dark sword on the ground.

His eyes looked around in confusion, wondering where the hell the disputant had disappeared to, but all he felt was a strong blow to his spine from behind, which send him flying against the cliff.

Deep claw marks formed on his back as his gaze lingered on the wolf, who was standing proud. Disquiet and horror spread across his face seeing the Wolf slowly walking forward while picking up the sword from the ground.

His instincts called him to retreat, but after remembering that he was trapped in this hellish pit, his expression turned even gloomier.

*Poke*

Before he could even react, the sword had already pierced through the heart, instantly killing him.

*ROARR*

The Wolf howled proudly, spanking his bare chest with the hands like some sort of wild lemur.

*Clap*

*Clap*

Kevin began to loudly clap as he really enjoyed the fight, it was a cruel, merciless carnage. It also confirmed his theory that servants can be used as some kind of kamikazes.

Kevin continued to clap while slowly climbing down to the steep hole. The Wolf instantly knelt down and extended his hand forward with the sword in the palms. Kevin sheathed the blade back with a smile, he was very pleased right now as two more servants were about to join his army.

"Obey," Kevin stated in a glorious tone.

Promptly two dark figures rose from the ground, in an already bowing position.

"You shall be called Hulu and Huru," Kevin grinned, pleased with his choice of names. The servants were excited as well, so the feeling was mutual.

'I'm even stronger now,' Kevin thought before calling back the newly gained servants, 'I should save some mana and leave before other beasts come.'

"'Jump,' Kevin commanded to the ferocious Wolf.

Though he was quite confused, the servant did as he was told. He leaped high into the sky, and while being in the midair, Kevin swung himself up into the air as well.

Using his servant as a platform, he did a double jump and effortlessly exited the steep hole.

"That's how you do it," Kevin said before calling the trapped Wolf. He checked the surrounding area for any possible dangers, but luckily there were none.

"Strangely, only two beasts were attracted by the blood..., there's definitely something fishy, I need to leave as soon as possible, but before...that"

Kevin's gaze lingered on the girl's pitiful body as he muttered.

"Since you helped me, I'll at least bury your body."

Three creatures formed up behind Kevin's back and moved towards the girl. Hastily, they dug a small hole in the grass, just enough to bury her fragile body in. Kevin took her in his embrace and slowly put her down in the grave.

"Rest well," Kevin comforted as he placed a beautiful rose on the lady while the servants slowly buried her body in a patch of brown earth.

Once she was completely hidden, Kevin called the servants back.

"Yawnnnn...now that the job is done.....I should probably get back"

Kevin put on his battle gear and vanished into the darkness, he stealthily moved back towards the gate, hoping not to be noticed by any monsters.

However, hope is only hope.

Just after moving for a few moments, Kevin found himself facing a strange ape as sweat formed on his brow.

From the side, it would seem that this small, naive-looking, bald monkey would be quite weak, but Kevin knew that wasn't true.

Even though it was at most three feet tall, the aura emanating from him was abruptly, incredibly powerful.

All of Kevin's senses urged him to retreat, but he didn't dare make any sudden movements.

"Fifth stage? Sixth stage? What kind of power is that?" Kevin thought while accumulated sweat dripped from his chin. Not even from the old man had he sensed such power, just what kind of trouble had he gotten himself into?

The atmosphere grew tenser by the second until finally, Kevin couldn't take it anymore. He took a step back, slowly retreating.

Thankfully, the monkey didn't seem to mind Kevin, as he began to withdraw faster until running away desperately.

The monkey simply turned around and walked deeper into the forest.

"Thank god I made it.....was... what the hell has happened here?" Kevin groaned in horror, "Did that monkey do this?"

A huge crater was formed on the ground as if a meteor had just fallen on the planet. It was so deep that Kevin probably wouldn't even be able to stay alive if he fell in there.

But that wasn't the strangest phenomenon yet. A countless number of different beasts lay scattered around the pit, all of them completely dead.

"That....monkey," Kevin thought, once again remembering the unfortunate encounter with the creature. His eyes gleamed with determination after memorizing how he couldn't even move against the ape, "If I want to stay alive in a world with powerhouses like this, I need to get stronger, much more powerful"

"DON'T MOVE OR WE WILL EXECUTE YOU IMMEDIATELY" a familiar voice reached Kevin's ears as he spun around.

Two guards in bright, golden armor were pointing their spears at Kevin in obvious distress.

Kevin, although stronger now, still knew it was impossible to win or even try to escape from these two, so he simply put his hands in the air showing no resistance.

************

Somewhere deep underground in the city of Hiroshima, a black creature sat on a throne with an evil expression on his face.

"HAHAHAHAHA, I AM ALMOST BACK AT MY FULL STRENGTH" He laughed excitedly, making the ground shake.

"HAHAHAHAHA"
