The dense smoke extended over making me powerless to see anything. Nonetheless, I had to wait for the time being until the smoke disintegrates.

Shortly, the smoke disappeared. Besides Lucas, I saw two people standing next to his side.

"Wha... What is this?" Lucas said with a green barrier around his body that protected him from the fireball, seemingly confused by the situation.

"Father, Grandfather..." Harley called his parents as soon as he saw them while pressing his chest next to a tree.

seems like, the pain he received from the kick hasn't gone yet.

Upon hearing this, Lucas promptly comprehended how it went on. He then glanced at his father and grandfather next to his side. His eyes are full of various emotions. one of them is disappointment and other emotions that reflect his feelings about this current predicament.

"..."

The two didn't reply. Their focus is on the sling shooter red goblin whose head is being crushed by a hand.

In the next moment, Nel who had his hand grabbing his head used his strength to disentangle it from his neck.

Splurt-...

Blood erupted like a fountain on his neck and his head was thrown away like garbage.

"Are you two okay?" He asked the two for confirmation.

'Bro. Of course, they're not.'

Having no different answer, the two immediately nodded their head as a response.

'These two...' I sighed after hearing their answer.

Nel had a different expression after hearing that, but he decided to heal them first with his magic.

Grandfather, on the other hand, his mood prompted that he came for nothing.

Lucas placed his head down seemingly disappointed by the outcome. "So we're eliminated then."

The second day of the test hadn't even officially started yet and the two of them were the first to be disqualified in this special test, so... The disappointment they brought upon themselves is by no means acceptable.

The disappointment of getting disqualified first before their siblings whom they didn't even consider on equal footing as theirs cannot be measured by words.

A few seconds before he replied, but this time, the one to tell him this was grandfather.

Lucas immediately looks ahead confused.

Instead of replying, he glanced in my direction.

Lucas and Harley immediately shifted their gaze in the same direction upon hearing that.

Having no other choice, I decided to reveal myself.

"Hello," I said to greet them.

Just when I came out, I was immediately put to blame for what they did.

"You... If it weren't for you, we... Would have won"

I did not reply for a few seconds to prevent making my words supposedly an argument. Momentarily, I started to speak in a well-mannered tone.

"It wasn't my fault. The decision wasn't made by me, therefore, rather than blaming me for your failure, think twice again before you run your mouth. And, who would attack a monster 15 levels above yours? You don't even have a system yet. So what makes you think that you are right? Even if I went along with you, do you think we can win? You two are lucky enough to kill two of them while off guard, but what about the one that you failed to kill?"

"You..."

Harley had something to say, but, he ended up putting his mouth shut as though my successive questions worked on them.

That applies to Lucas as well, they realized I'm in the right position, therefore, they had no other choice but to keep their mouth shut.

While on it, I noticed my uncle and grandfather gaze at me. They had different thoughts about me judging by their serious eyes.

Because of this incident, I finally understood the meaning behind this group and the reason why we were sent to a dangerous place.

'This group with only three members is the only group with the right to partake in the succession of the family in the future. The rest are nothing'

This explains why we were being tested in a different and much more difficult place.

though, I'm still pretty sure they will change their minds later on after receiving our system.

That's the day when we finally get our Classes. If by chance I got a class that doesn't fulfill our family condition, I will be immediately cast aside and lose my rights to participate in the succession.

Anyway, set aside, I'd began to speak again. "You should be thankful to me right now"

Nel and the current head had doubtful and surprised expressions upon hearing that.

Would you look at their surprised face, I gave a slight hint in a way that they would think I figured it out and the reaction I received was satisfying. Why? Because I'm the only one who understands the mechanism of this whole test.

'Did he realize the meaning behind this test?' This question resounded inside their heads.

Nel and Grandfather pondered for a moment.

"What do you mean by that?" Still uncertain, Lucas asked me this question.

I denied replying to his question as I turn my head back to the direction of the camp before walking.

"Wait!" Lucas shouted still wanting to know the meaning behind my words.

I'd ignored him by not looking back.

My presence gradually faded away, and shortly, I completely vanished from their sights leaving no traces behind.

"What an interesting kid." Wades said. It seems like his arrival wasn't in vain after all.

Wades is the current head of the family and the grandfather of 12 kids.

Nel made an impression that seems to be disappointed for a moment.

I went back to the camp without waiting for the two. Good thing I didn't encounter any monsters along the way because that would be troublesome. As long as those two are here, my techniques won't be put into use. After all, I have no intention of revealing it to anyone.

I went inside the tent to sleep But before that, I used my sensing technique to check the surrounding area. I noticed several Monsters nearby and I'm sure that they saw me earlier. I grabbed my sword for my safety, However, they turned their heads back as if they lost interest.

'Was it because of those two?' That's the only possible answer I could come up with.

As soon as I woke up early in the morning, I immediately noticed the two in front of the tent.

In the middle of them, there's a campfire and fish next to it. It appeared they were grilling the fish they caught in the river.

Splash...

I could see the fishing rod made out of wood shaking next to the river that separated the land.

"Hey, I think you should-"

"I know" Harley cut my words as if he had already known what to do.

The way he told that to me is as if, he is frustrated to hear my voice. In order to prevent causing unnecessary fights, I remained silent.

After collecting the fish on his fishing rod, Harley immediately killed it using a sharp stick that penetrated inside it's body before putting it next to the fire.

It was brutal if you ask me.

The tranquility after put my mind at peace. Too quiet, peaceful, and serene, it makes me wonder how beautiful the world is, yet, the scene in front of me is too lonely.

I assumed these guys hadn't gotten over it nonetheless.

I guess I have no other choice. The scene in front of me is already showing my needless presence here.

I shifted my eyes to the waterfall attached to the river next to us.

I removed my clothes before jumping into the water with my sword. Since the water wasn't that deep, I began to head to the deeper part.

"What is he doing?" Harley asked out of curiosity.

"He plans to hunt a fish using his sword," Lucas replied to him nonchalantly.

"Do you think he can do it?"

"Who knows"

The two talked behind my back but I ignored it anyway. Not too long I arrived at the deeper part.

I began hunting fish there underneath the water using the sword I had in my hand.

20 minutes had passed and the only fish I obtained from hunting was only 3. The water was too dense, therefore, stabbing the fish is the only option to get them. It was pretty challenging since I have to stab my sword precisely and faster.

another day had passed. What we accomplished was hunting low-level monsters like boarwolf. I believed that they've learned their lessons before since they finally started to hear me out, and I believed they learned how they were saved by me the other day using the one-time life-saving.

Before we came here, we were given a device that can only be used one time to save a teammate. I pressed it before the estimated remaining time runs out.

One month had passed since then.

We won the test effortlessly by avoiding fighting monsters stronger than us and received the rewards from our parents after winning.

The rules had never stated anything particular about having an extra kill after killing monsters above level 5, therefore, we opted to hunt the weakest. That's how we won.

The reward I selected was dragon flesh.

And right now I'm waiting outside someone's house to get the sword from a blacksmith.
