The opposite of the gospel

Sitting by the window bay was a girl with brown hair that stopped at her shoulders. It had a beautiful gradient from brown to purple, the latter being more concentrated at the bottom. She had dark brown eyes that shone in the sunlight. The name of this girl is Renae.

Renae had grabbed the book she was currently reading, laid down on the window bay and started to read. She was so immersed in her book that she did not hear her phone ring. When she did realise, it made her jump. Renae carefully placed her book face down and picked up her phone.

"Matt?" Renae asked in a surprised tone. It had been a long time since they last contacted as Matthew migrated to London when they were 12. ( 6 years ago )

"Hello, is this Renae?" It was a lady's voice and not Matthew's voice...? Did he get a girlfriend? Renae thought to herself.

"Uh, yes. Who is- " before Renae could continue, the lady cut her off. "This is Matthew's mother. He's currently in Jing Xi Hospital... something happened to him and if you aren't too busy, please come and see him! No time to explain, please come and see him!" she explained.

"Alright, I'll be there as soon as possible. I'm not busy right now." Renae replied calmly, but really, her heart was thumping faster than her mind could think.

Renae placed a bookmark in the page she stopped at in the book before grabbing her phone, keys, jacket, then running out the door. The only thing she could think about was... what could've happened to Matt?
